Chapter 7: Strange and Heartbreaking
Life is like plants, which will experience initial prosperity and end withering. It is hard to say what period Bian Zhener and his companions belong to. After leaving Luoyang City, they continued to head north. The weather was getting colder, so the four of them put on thick clothes.
If they could not find any towns or villages during the cold snap, they could only look for an old temple. If they could not find any old temple, they could only sleep under a tree. Yun Yao was probably used to a life of luxury since childhood, and had a body that could not withstand fatigue. He fell ill several times during the journey.
"If this continues, will I die on the road?" Yun Yao wrapped himself in a quilt and hid under a ruined wall.
"Nonsense, why would you die while I'm here?" Liu Zhuiyi glared at him while grinding herbs in his hand.
Xun Yan boiled a few bowls of wild vegetable soup in a pot and said, "Everyone drink some soup first to warm your body. When Sister Liu's medicine is ground, I will boil some medicine and everyone can drink some. Those who are sick can get cured, and those who are not sick can also take precautions." As she spoke, she served a few bowls of soup and handed them to Yun Yao and Bian Zhener.
When Xun Yan brought the hot soup to Bian Zhen'er, she touched his fingertips. She couldn't help but frown and asked, "Bian Zhen'er, why are your hands so cold?"
Liu Zhuiyi Yunyao looked up, Bian Zhener took the hot soup and said, "It has been like this since I was a child. As the weather gets colder, my skin gets colder."
"But this is too cold." Xun Yan said.
Bian Zhener smiled and said, "Don't worry, it's nothing, it's just a physical problem."
"Did you have any illness when you were a child?" Liu Zhuiyi asked, and Bian Zhener shook his head. Liu Zhuiyi put the ground herbs on the ground, walked over and held up Bian Zhener's hand, and put his fingers on his pulse.
There was nothing abnormal about the pulse.
"Are you cold?" Liu Zhuiyi looked at Bian Zhener, who was wearing the least, and asked again.
Bian Zhener shook his head and said, "It's really nothing."
Xun Yan stood up, scooped the remaining hot soup to Bian Zhener, then washed the pot and boiled the medicine. After the medicine was ready, Yun Yao drank two bowls of it with eager eyes, and gave the rest to Bian Zhener.
"How can I drink so much by myself? You can't take medicine randomly." Bian Zhener said helplessly as he looked at the medicine soup brought by Xun Yan.
Xun Yan turned her head to look at Liu Zhuiyi and said, "Sister Liu, can you share a bowl?"
Liu Zhuiyi shared a bowl with Xun Yan, but she didn't notice that when Xun Yan handed it to her, a tiny gray worm crawled out from her sleeve.
The four of them watched the sky gradually darken, and after packing up, they decided to stay here the night. Although they had to sit on the ground in the open air, fortunately there was a thick wall to block the strong north wind.
In the middle of the night, Yun Yao shivered and got up to go to the bathroom. When he returned, he saw Xun Yan quietly getting up and approaching Bian Zhen'er where the bonfire was burning. Yun Yao quickly squatted down, covered himself with swaying weeds, and carefully observed Xun Yan's every move.
Xun Yan walked to Bian Zhen'er, held his hand, and began to detect his pulse with her fingers. Then, she bent down and sniffed the scent of Bian Zhen'er and placed her fingertips on Bian Zhen'er's forehead.
Suddenly, a red light flashed between Bian Zhener's eyebrows. Xun Yan was startled. She was attacked by the red light, and she stood up and staggered a few steps before she could stand firm.
Yun Yao covered his mouth in surprise. Xun Yan actually knew martial arts! If an ordinary person was attacked by this red light, he would definitely faint, but she... Yun Yao didn't dare to make a sound at all. After Xun Yan went back and fell asleep, Yun Yao hid in the dark for a long time before he dared to go back.
He stayed awake all night, wondering who Xun Yan was.
As the sky was about to brighten, the four gradually woke up. As they were running out of water, they needed to go out to find some water. Yun Yao acted like a child and acted like a spoiled child to Liu Zhuiyi, asking her to go with him to find water. Liu Zhuiyi could not stand his tossing and turning, and agreed to go together to find water.
After walking out for a long time, Yun Yao suddenly pulled Liu Zhuiyi close and whispered, "Liu'er, I encountered something bad yesterday!"
"What bad thing happened? Don't be so mysterious." Liu Zhuiyi pulled out the hand that he was holding tightly and continued to move forward.
"I'm serious, I think Xun Yan is weird." Yun Yao said hurriedly. He has been feeling uneasy since last night.
Liu Zhuiyi sneered and said, "Isn't she just a person who looks gentle and quiet, but is actually quite scheming?" When they were at the Donglai Inn, Liu Zhuiyi had already noticed that something was wrong with Xun Yan. She was paying attention to him everywhere, trying to find ways to destroy his image in Bian Zhener's heart.
They are all women, and Liu Zhuiyi understands her jealousy.
Yun Yao shook his head and said, "If that's the case, then I have nothing to worry about. I think Xun Yan's motives towards us are not pure."
Liu Zhuiyi became interested, sat on a raised stone, tilted his head and smiled, "Oh? Why is your motive impure?"
Yun Yao described vividly, "I went out to relieve myself last night, and on my way back I saw Xun Yan coming to Bian Zhen'er. She touched his right pulse, then his left pulse, and even pounced on Bian Zhen'er, sniffing something. Later, she touched Bian Zhen'er's forehead, and a red light shone from Bian Zhen'er's forehead, hitting Xun Yan."
"You deserve it!" Liu Zhuiyi said proudly.
"Listen to me." Yun Yao said, "Do you know how strong that red light is? I was hiding so far away and I could feel a little bit of its power, but Xun Yan was so close to Bian Zhen'er, but she was fine. She only took two steps back and stood firm. Liu'er, you say that even the most powerful person I have ever seen is not as powerful as Xun Yan, right? She can actually stand firm under such strong light!"
Seeing Yun Yao speak so seriously, Liu Zhuiyi began to believe it and asked, "So...what do you mean?"
"I don't know who she is, but I'm sure she will do something bad to us," said Yun Yao.
Liu Zhuiyi said in embarrassment: "But Bian Zhener trusts Xun Yan very much. Even if we tell him this, he won't believe it with his stupid head."
"So, we need to have enough evidence and find out Xun Yan's true identity first." Yun Yao gave Liu Zhuiyi some ideas.
Liu Zhuiyi's eyes moved, her thin eyebrows knitted tightly, she bit her lower lip lightly, and after a long time, she said: "Go find some water, I'll find a way. If Xun Yan really has ulterior motives, I will never let her go!"
Yun Yao also said: "Okay, I'll think of a way too, let's think of it together."
Liu Zhuiyi nodded, and during the second half of the journey with Yun Yao to find water, both of them were absent-minded. When they returned to the ruined wall, everyone started to get in the car and set off. This time, Bian Zhener took over the driving.
In the carriage, Liu Zhuiyi, Yun Yao and Xun Yan sat face to face. Yun Yao would glance at Xun Yan from time to time, and he would avoid Xun Yan when she met his gaze. Xun Yan asked, "Master Yun, what are you doing?"
"No, Miss Xun Yan, you are pretty and I couldn't help but look at you a few more times." Yun Yao lied quickly.
Xun Yan stared at Yun Yao closely, with the corners of her lips slightly raised as she said, "This isn't the first time Xun Yan has met Young Master Yun. How come you didn't notice what Xun Yan looks like before?"
Yun Yao grinned and said, "Today's discovery is particularly beautiful."
"Young Master Yun is really good at talking." Xun Yan said embarrassedly.
The two people with different intentions had masks all over their faces, making it hard to tell what was real and what was fake. Liu Zhuiyi had been observing Xun Yan, but she couldn't tell anything. She rolled her eyes and said with envy, "Ah, the further north you go, the colder the weather will be. I wonder if I'll be lucky enough to encounter the snowy season when red plum blossoms bloom. Hehe, the little monk promised to take me to see a snowy season when red plum blossoms bloom. I'm really looking forward to it."
As expected, as soon as Bian Zhener was mentioned, a layer of gray cloud appeared on Xun Yan's face.
As Liu Zhuiyi said this, he ran out and sat next to Bian Zhener, saying, "Little monk, I'll sit with you."
Bian Zhen'er didn't understand Liu Zhuiyi's intention, so she turned her head and said gently, "You don't need to accompany me. It's windy outside. You can go in and take shelter."
Liu Zhuiyi smiled shyly with a face full of honey and asked, "Little monk, are you worried that I might get sick?"
Bian Zhen'er could never win over Liu Zhuiyi, so she kept silent to avoid embarrassment. Liu Zhuiyi seemed not to notice, and stuck to Bian Zhen'er's shoulder, leaning against him tightly, saying, "Little monk, you are so kind, you are the best person in the world to me."
In the car, Xun Yan listened to Liu Zhuiyi's words with a blank expression on her face, but Yun Yao noticed that her ten fingers were covering the back of her other hand, almost pinching into the flesh. Yun Yao's uneasiness grew, and he looked at Xun Yan with a hint of fear in his eyes.
Halfway through the journey, they arrived at the market on the Hutuo River.
There are many merchants from both sides of Hutuo River here, they sell things that others need. The Futuo River market is not big, but because of the business flow, there are also some inns for people to rest.
Liu Zhuiyi and his friends stayed here and found a small restaurant to eat.
Xun Yan and Bian Zhen'er were walking at the back. She was not familiar with this strange place and kept pulling at a corner of Bian Zhen'er's clothes.
Liu Zhuiyi looked back at them. When she first entered the door, she suddenly felt dazed and her mind seemed to be stagnant at that moment. She was stunned for a moment and stood still.
"What's wrong?" Yun Yao asked worriedly.
"It's okay." Liu Zhuiyi waved his hand, "Maybe... I didn't get enough rest."
"Are you sick?" Yun Yao stretched out his palm and placed it on Liu Zhuiyi's forehead, then put it on his own forehead, and he didn't feel it was hot.
Liu Zhuiyi shook her head, her consciousness was like falling into a cloud. She pushed Yun Yao away and said, "I'll go see if the horse is tied up."
"Sister Liu?" Xun Yan looked at Liu Zhuiyi strangely, a little worried, and said, "I'll go help Sister Liu." As she said that, she followed Liu Zhuiyi. Yun Yao felt uneasy and followed her.
Bian Zhener didn't know what had happened to these three people, so he had to go up to see what was going on.
Liu Zhuiyi stood in front of the horse, stroking its mane lovingly. Her eyes were empty and lifeless, as if someone had taken her soul away. Xun Yan walked up to her and asked worriedly, "Sister Liu, are you okay?"
Upon hearing Xun Yan's words, Liu Zhuiyi's eyes suddenly became fierce. She gritted her teeth and pulled the reins, and the horse immediately raised its front hooves and kicked at Xun Yan. Xun Yan was so frightened that her face turned pale. She had no time to dodge and was kicked in the forehead by the horse, and her body fell heavily into the stable.
"Little bitch! Get away from the little monk!" Liu Zhuiyi yelled at Xun Yan like crazy, but when she said this, she was stunned. She had never thought of treating Xun Yan like this, nor had she thought of saying such words, but it was as if something controlled her and she couldn't resist.
"Liu'er!" Yun Yao ran up in surprise and held Liu Zhuiyi's shoulders, not knowing what was going on.
Bian Zhener saw with his own eyes that Liu Zhuiyi pulled the reins of the horse to hurt Xun Yan. He went up to help Xun Yan up. Xun Yan covered half of her forehead with her hands, her eyes filled with tears. She looked at Liu Zhuiyi innocently and cried, "Sister Liu, why did you do this..."
As she spoke, she put her hands down, revealing a large area of flesh from where she had just covered her hands. Blood was flowing down visibly, and it was a shocking sight!
Everyone was shocked. Liu Zhuiyi stepped back and said, "I didn't!"
Bian Zhener helped Xun Yan up, and Xun Yan hid in Bian Zhener's arms, covering her wounds, feeling very sad. Liu Zhuiyi met Bian Zhener's gaze, and Bian Zhener did not avoid Xun Yan's hiding at all. He looked at Liu Zhuiyi with confusion in his eyes.
"Little monk, listen to me." Liu Zhuiyi took a step forward, and Xun Yan took a step back in fear. The horse kept neighing behind him. Xun Yan grabbed Bian Zhener's clothes tightly, and his hands were sweating.
Bian Zhener supported Xun Yan and said, "Let's find a doctor first." Then he looked at Yun Yao and said, "Let's find a doctor."
"Okay... okay." Yun Yao didn't know what to do, so he had to listen to Bian Zhener's words first.
Bian Zhener took Xun Yan back to the restaurant without saying a word to Liu Zhuiyi. Liu Zhuiyi felt so wronged that she couldn't say anything and could only cry. She followed Bian Zhener back to the restaurant and stood aside without saying a word.
Yun Yao called a doctor, who applied medicine to Xun Yan. Originally a very pretty woman, now half of her face was wrapped in gauze. After being kicked by a horse, Xun Yan no longer dared to walk with Liu Zhuiyi. She had been hiding beside Bian Zhener. Whenever Liu Zhuiyi wanted to find Bian Zhener to explain things, Xun Yan would grab Bian Zhener's hand like a frightened bird, with fear in her eyes.
At night, the wind was slightly chilly.
Liu Zhuiyi and the other three were resting on the ground. The moon was bright and full today. Bian Zhener took out his zither and played the same song "Brocade Zither", but there was another person sitting next to him - Xun Yan.
Liu Zhuiyi sat alone far away. Bian Zhener refused to listen to her explanation, and she didn't know what to do. Yun Yao came up and put a dress on Liu Zhuiyi. Looking at her red eyes, he felt a little distressed and said, "Liu'er, what happened to you today?"
"I don't know either, but it wasn't my intention to do or say that. You have to believe me..." Liu Zhuiyi hugged her knees, tears dripping down her knees. Yun Yao quickly comforted her, touched her head, and said, "Okay, okay, I believe you. Of course I believe you."
"But the little monk didn't believe me and didn't even give me a chance to explain." Liu Zhuiyi felt even more sad when he thought of this, and he choked up several times while speaking.
"It's not that he doesn't trust you, it's just that it's difficult to have both, do you understand?" Yun Yao explained.
Liu Zhuiyi said angrily, "I don't understand! Is it because of Xun Yan that he doesn't want to listen to my explanation? What does it matter? I think it's obvious that the little monk has been bewitched by Xun Yan and doesn't like me anymore!"
"Liu'er, don't be angry." Yun Yao frowned and sighed.
Liu Zhuiyi felt aggrieved. It was not right for her to vent her feelings, nor was it right not to vent her feelings. She had to swallow her sadness down, which made her feel so sad.
Bian Zhen'er was absent-minded while playing the piano. He turned his head slightly and looked towards where Liu Zhuiyi was. On the hillside, the girl hugged herself into a ball, and I don't know how much bitterness she had buried.
That night, the four of them did not sleep together. At the foot of the hill, Bian Zhen'er was sleeping lightly against the carriage, and Xun Yan was sleeping beside him; on the hill, Liu Zhuiyi was lying on Yun Yao, and Yun Yao's hand was still on her shoulder, probably trying to coax her to sleep, but he ended up coaxing himself to sleep.
The night in the north is never quiet. There may be the howling of wolves coming from nowhere, or the wind blowing over the top of the mountain, bringing with it an empty whistle.
When the day was about to dawn, Liu Zhuiyi was no longer among the four people. The first thing Yun Yao did when he woke up was to run down the hillside and shout loudly: "Bian Zhener, Liu Er is missing!"
Bian Zhener woke up when he heard the sound. Seeing Xun Yan was sleeping soundly, he quickly told Yun Yao to be quiet and whispered, "Don't worry, I'll go with you to look for her."
Yun Yao waited for Bian Zhen'er to get up and walk two steps away, then said worriedly, "She cried all night last night, saying that you refused to listen to her explanation. I'm worried that she might be upset."
"She won't do anything stupid. I'll talk to her when I find her." said Bian Zhener.
However, not long after they walked out, they suddenly heard Xun Yan's cry for help from the rest area. Bian Zhen'er and the other man were shocked and hurried back.
Their horses seemed to be frightened and ran towards the edge of the cliff, and Xun Yan, who was resting outside the carriage, was calling for help in the carriage! Not far away, Liu Zhuiyi stood with an indifferent face, and a few wild fruits fell at his feet.
"Help me! Bian Zhen'er--" Xun Yan called for help from Bian Zhen'er in the carriage. The horse didn't seem to want to stop, and it was getting closer and closer to the cliff. Bian Zhen'er tiptoed and jumped after the carriage, but the horse was too fast, and Bian Zhen'er always caught up and fell back. At the critical moment, Bian Zhen'er's body was filled with red light from inside to outside, and the light spread like silk threads, knocking Liu Zhuiyi to the ground. Yun Yao hurriedly went up to help Liu Zhuiyi up. Liu Zhuiyi seemed to have regained consciousness. Seeing Bian Zhen'er desperately chasing the carriage running towards the cliff, he exclaimed: "Little monk--"
The horse did not stop and went straight to the cliff. The moment the carriage fell, Xun Yan fell out of the carriage and fell down the cliff. Bian Zhener was shining with a strange light. He jumped off the cliff, caught Xun Yan in his arms, used his toes to gain leverage on the carriage, and jumped with Xun Yan. He floated up and landed steadily on the ground.
Liu Zhuiyi quickly got up and ran to Bian Zhener. Xun Yan was still in shock and kept crying while hugging Bian Zhener. Bian Zhener comforted her and said, "It's okay, it's okay."
Liu Zhuiyi suddenly stopped. That scene made her heart ache, as if she was the only one who was redundant in the world.
She got up early in the morning and picked some fruit. She wanted to explain to Bian Zhen'er and apologize to Xun Yan, but for some reason, she dragged Xun Yan onto the carriage uncontrollably, whipped the horse, and watched coldly as the carriage took Xun Yan down the cliff.
These were not what she meant, but she couldn't explain why. She couldn't even convince herself, so how could she explain it to Bian Zhener?
"Bian Zhener, please don't leave me, okay? I'm so scared, I don't know what will happen next. I didn't do anything wrong, why did Sister Liu want to hurt me?" Xun Yan cried pitifully in Bian Zhener's arms, and Liu Zhuiyi was so sad that she could only swallow it alone.
Yun Yao was getting more and more confused. What on earth was going on? He walked up to Liu Zhuiyi and asked, "Liu'er, what happened?"
Liu Zhuiyi's eyes were red, and she said, "I did it all."
Yun Yao was surprised and asked, "What happened?"
"I don't know. As long as you are not here, there is a force urging me to do this." Liu Zhuiyi said absentmindedly. She walked towards Bian Zhener and Xun Yan. When Xun Yan saw her coming, she hurriedly hid behind Bian Zhener.
Liu Zhuiyi frowned deeply, his expression solemn.
Bian Zhener stood in front of her, with confusion and worry in his eyes. The two of them faced each other, the howling north wind wrapped them up, and they looked at each other in silence.
"You don't have to be afraid, and don't worry about what will happen next." Liu Zhuiyi said to Xun Yan behind Bian Zhener.
Bian Zhener called softly: "Liu'er..."
Liu Zhuiyi smiled faintly, but there was sadness between her brows. She said, "I've been waiting for you to call me Liu'er for so long." Without waiting for Bian Zhen'er to speak, Liu Zhuiyi asked again, "Do you want to ask me what's wrong? Do you want to ask me if I'm sick or too tired, and why I do these things?"
Bian Zhen'er was unable to answer for a moment. Xun Yan was trembling behind him, and Liu Zhuiyi was frowning and looking pitiful in front of him. He knew in his heart who he cared about more, but he did not have the courage to defend Liu Zhuiyi.
It is a fact that Xun Yan was injured.
"We..." Bian Zhener said with difficulty, "Let's go find..."
"I'm not sick!" Liu Zhuiyi interrupted him, with a hint of anger between his brows.
They must have thought she was sick because she was too tired recently, but Liu Zhuiyi knew she was not sick at all. Her heart felt like thousands of hands were constantly scratching, as if tearing her flesh.
Liu Zhuiyi stared at Bian Zhen'er so hard that her eyes started to ache. She knew that Bian Zhen'er would never defend her unfairly, and she knew that at this moment, Bian Zhen'er cared more about Xun Yan than the injured Xun Yan.
Since you are so afraid that she will get hurt, Liu Zhuiyi should just leave.
If you leave, everything will be peaceful.
"I'm afraid of hurting her again, little monk, so I'll leave." The voice echoed in the mountain like an echo, and Bian Zhener and Yun Yao were both dumbfounded.
The wind was even colder, and seemed to penetrate the clothes and reach the bones and blood. Liu Zhuiyi's long hair was messed up by the wind, and the unshed tears on her eyelashes were swept away by the north wind. She tried to smile and said, "I will go alone, little monk..."
"I'll go alone, little monk."
The whistling sound from the top of the mountain drowned out Liu Zhuiyi's last words. Bian Zhener wanted to speak, but saw Liu Zhuiyi turned his head and walked away with his back to him. Before he could call out "Liu'er", he had already disappeared between heaven and earth.
Xun Yan held Bian Zhen'er's arm tightly, like a bird with broken wings, leaning against a branch.
Liu Zhuiyi walked up to Yun Yao and spoke first without waiting for him to speak: "I will go to Lingqiu, you follow me and bring the little monks over. Remember to be on guard against Xun Yan."
"Liu'er, are you really leaving?" Yun Yao asked.
Liu recalled: "Why are these inexplicable behaviors of mine only directed at Xun Yan? I have to find out the reason. We will meet in Lingqiu. The little monk cares about all living beings and may be biased towards him, but I can't do anything about it. Yun Yao, take good care of the little monk and take good care of yourself." When she said the last sentence, her eyes were fixed on Yun Yao. This was the first time she spoke to Yun Yao in such a gentle tone.
After she finished speaking, she left, her steps getting faster and faster until her green figure gradually blurred in Yun Yao's sight.
Bian Zhen'er watched her leave without trying to keep her. His eyes grew increasingly dim, and his heart felt as if it were being cut by a knife.
The horses and the cart fell off the cliff, so if they wanted to go to Lingqiu, they could only walk.
Among the three people, without Liu Zhuiyi, it seemed that something else was missing. Yun Yao said nothing, just silently watching Bian Zhener and Xun Yan. Perhaps Liu Zhuiyi was angry and left, Xun Yan looked self-blaming in front of Bian Zhener. Yun Yao clenched his fists, he only hated himself for being so shallow and not being able to see what kind of person Xun Yan was.
After Liu Zhuiyi left, she would go to a small town to see a doctor to see what had happened to her, but no doctor could figure out what was wrong with her. They all said she was fine and there was nothing strange about her.
Liu Zhuiyi herself did not feel uncomfortable, and she had never encountered the same situation again after she left Xun Yan. Thinking of this, Liu Zhuiyi was filled with fear. If Xun Yan was the kind of weirdo who could manipulate other people's minds, that would be terrible!
Her legs were not strong enough, and when she was almost at Lingqiu, she met a ox cart. After she explained the reasons to the owner of the ox cart, the owner let her sit on the cart.
When the ox cart was halfway through its journey and entered Luoyan Mountain, the owner of the ox cart, an old man, said to Liu Zhuiyi, "Girl, hide. Hide under here." The old man patted a bundle of straw on the ox cart and said.
Liu Zhuiyi became alert and asked, "What's wrong, uncle?"
The old man said, "We are almost at Qiufeng Village. There is a group of bandits living here. Although they are very kind to the people in the county, they only target outsiders. Girl, you are an outsider, and I can't help you. You should hide quickly."
"Oh... okay." Liu Zhuiyi obediently crawled into the haystack, and the old man covered her tightly.
Qiufeng Village is the only bandit village in Lingqiu County. They are regarded as the most inhuman bandits by outsiders, but are respected as patron saints by locals. The owner of Qiufeng Village is called Duan Ganshan, a local, so he loves the local people very much and enjoys being admired by them, but he is rough by nature and likes freedom, so he picked up a group of homeless people and set up camp on Luoyan Mountain, taught them martial arts, established Qiufeng Village, and became a bandit.
Liu Zhuiyi didn't understand why he would protect the people of Lingqiu County while kidnapping passers-by. What a weird person.
The ox cart arrived at the foot of Luoyan Mountain. On the mound at the foot of the mountain sat two or three men with half of their arms exposed. When they saw the ox cart passing by, they shouted, "Uncle Wu, drive the cart back."
The old man parked the car and stepped forward, saying respectfully, "Second Master, Master Tu, Brother Gou."
The Second Master, the Butcher Master and the Dog Brother mentioned by the uncle are Duan Ganshan's three best brothers. They are all big and strong. One is stingy but as agile as a leopard, one looks honest and fierce but is strong and loyal, and the other is wretched and lustful but invincible with his hidden weapons.
Erye blew the straw in his mouth and said, "Be careful when you go out to work. If you are wronged, tell us and we will take care of it for you."
"Thank you, Second Master. The old man has no grievances." The old man said hurriedly.
"Then let's go back. By the way, have you seen any strangers?" Erye asked again.
The old man laughed and said, "We are very smart. If there are any strangers, we will definitely find them before this old man."
"That's a good idea. Go back." Erye waved his hand at him. Uncle turned around and tried to pull the ox cart, but was suddenly grabbed by the dog brother. The dog brother sniffed at him and his eyes became sharp, as if he was looking for some prey.
"Old Four, what are you doing?" asked Butcher when he saw Dog Brother in such a state.
"It smells like a woman." Gou Ge followed the smell and stopped beside the ox cart. Uncle came over and said, "Gou Ge, how can an old man smell like a woman? At most, he bumped into some rich girl on his way back and got some makeup on him."
"It's not powder, it's the smell of a woman!" Gou Ge's expression became excited. He pointed at the carriage and said, "It's right here, right here!" As he spoke, he reached out to lift the bundle of straw. Uncle quickly stopped him and said, "Gou Ge, Gou Ge, it's just a poor little girl, please let her go!"
How could he listen to the uncle's words? He just stretched out his hand and lifted the rope, breaking it and sending the straw flying everywhere. Suddenly, a flash of cold light appeared in the chaotic straw. The butcher saw it before the dog brother and hurriedly said, "Old Four, be careful!"
With a "hiss", a cold light flashed across Gou Ge's cuffs, and his clothes were immediately pulled open. Liu Zhuiyi jumped up from the ox cart, dodged a few steps away, and held a dagger in his hand.
Dog brother was about to get angry, but what he saw was a face with a clear and ruthless look.
"Old Third, are you okay?" Master Tu and Master Er hurried over, ready to fight. Brother Gou stretched out his hand to stop him, but his eyes could not move away from Liu Zhuiyi. He rubbed his hands with a smile and asked, "Miss, I didn't hurt you just now, did I? Hey, why are you playing with a knife? Here, give it to me, give it to me."
"Don't come over!" Liu Zhuiyi shouted.
"Okay, okay, I won't go over there." Dog brother stopped immediately, and then said to Second Master Tuye, "Second brother, third brother, put down your weapons, don't scare the girl."
The Second Master gave Gou Ge a slap on the head with a look of dismay, saying, "You useless thing!" Then, he turned to Liu Zhuiyi and said, "Who are you? What are you doing in Lingqiu County?" As he spoke, he glanced at Liu Zhuiyi, and finally at the purse on her waist, and said, "Do you know the rules of Luoyan Mountain? If you want to cross Luoyan Mountain, you must leave money behind."
"I have no money, only life. Take it if you want it." Liu Zhuiyi said coldly.
"Quite a man of character." The Second Master smacked his lips.
Seeing this, the old man tried to smooth things over and said, "Gentlemen, please be flexible as she is just a little girl!"
"Little girl?" Second Master sneered and said, "The little girl was very ruthless and almost stabbed my fourth master's wrist."
"If I were really cruel, his clothes wouldn't just be torn." Liu recalled.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Er Ye narrowed his eyes and said, "You're still very stubborn. If you don't leave money today, we will strip you naked and hang you on Luoyan Mountain."
When Liu Zhuiyi heard this, her cheeks turned red and she gritted her teeth and said, "Bah! Pervert!"
"Pervert?" Second Master laughed and said to Tu Ye, "Third Master, let her see what a real pervert is!"
Tu Ye was a little embarrassed, and whispered in Er Ye's ear: "Second brother, she is a girl, don't scare her, just take the money away."
Being rejected by Master Tu, Er Ye felt a little embarrassed, and he shouted: "If you, you don't go, I will go!" As he said that, he rushed forward with his bare hands, trying to take the purse from Liu Zhuiyi's waist. Liu Zhuiyi stepped back to defend herself and dealt with Er Ye.
Dog brother stood aside and said anxiously: "Second brother, second brother, don't hurt others."
Although Erye's martial arts skills were not high, his body was as slippery as a loach. Before Liu Zhuiyi could take the first move, his second move had already flown towards her, making Liu Zhuiyi irritable and unprepared. Suddenly, Liu Zhuiyi's forehead was flicked by Erye's finger. She took two steps back, but her wrist suddenly hurt. The dagger in her hand and the purse on her waist were taken away. She came to her senses and was about to grab it, but Erye raised the dagger and held it in front of her.
The second master weighed the purse in his hand and said quietly, "Wouldn't it be better if you gave it to me earlier?"
Liu Zhuiyi's face became more and more ugly. Not only did she suffer from Xun Yan's anger, but she also traveled so far and saw so many doctors, but the strange problem with her body still could not be found. She was expecting to go to Lingqiu to meet up with Bian Zhener and the others, but she met a group of gangsters on the way. Not only was she molested, but her money was also robbed.
So infuriating!
Liu Zhuiyi's eyes turned red, and he cursed angrily: "Rogue! Pervert! Despicable villain!"
The second master pretended to be shocked and sighed in the tone of an elder: "Why is a good girl scolding someone?"
"What's wrong with scolding you?" Liu Zhuiyi pointed at the second master's nose and said, "Scolding you is too light! Ha! What Luoyan Mountain, what Qiufeng Village, uncle also told me that you are a group of good people, what a bullshit! In my opinion, you even want to rob a little girl like me of my money. You are simply a real gangster. How can you pretend to be a good person? Bah! I tell you, doing bad things is doing bad things, being immoral is immoral, and bullying others is bullying too much! Still want to protect your pitiful image by caring for the people of Lingqiu? Why don't you die! Bastard!"
Liu Zhuiyi's eloquent scolding made the second master and the other two stare blankly. They swallowed their saliva and were speechless for a while.
“Hmph—” Liu Zhuiyi raised his head, crossed his arms, and continued, “I, Liu Zhuiyi, have been traveling around the world for many years, and have encountered quite a few bandits. The ones who are truly worthy of respect are those who specialize in robbing corrupt officials and treacherous villains to help poor people. What about you? Anyone who is a foreigner will be bullied by you. You are not good bandits, bah! What’s good about bandits? You are a bunch of narrow-minded villains, bah, bah, bah!”
"You..." The Second Master was furious at what she said, but there was really nothing wrong with what she said.
"It's so embarrassing." Gou Ge covered his face and hid behind the butcher. It was really embarrassing. They had been bandits for most of their lives, but at this moment, they were scolded by a little girl and dared not talk back.
Liu Zhuiyi was in a stalemate with the three of them. The three men lowered their heads slightly, their faces turning red and white.
Suddenly, the wind gently lifted Liu Zhuiyi's hair, and the yellow sand on the ground also flew with the wind. A man suddenly flew down from the mountainside above Luoyan, holding a big knife in his hand, and a low and rough voice came from the wind.
"You are the first person who dares to say this about the people of Qiufeng Village."
When the voice fell, the person who came stopped in front of Erye and Liu Zhuiyi. He had a tall and straight body, and although he had a circle of beard on his face, it still couldn't hide his handsome face. His eyes were bright and full of a calm strength.
This person is none other than the leader of Qiufeng Village - Duan Ganshan!
"Big brother." The two masters all clasped their fists in respect. Seeing this, the old man stepped forward and said, "Master Duan, Master Duan, this man was brought here by the old man. Please let him go."
Duan Ganshan silently extended his hand, signaling Uncle Wu to leave first. He walked around Liu Zhuiyi, stood in front of her, and repeated what she had just said: "Rogue, pervert, despicable villain?"
He had a strong aura, and Liu Zhuiyi could feel a compelling presence when she stood in front of him.
Duan Ganshan asked again: "Wang... Bastard?"
Liu Zhuiyi took a breath, looked into Duan Ganshan's eyes, and said, "It's fine if you just know it yourself, why bother saying it out loud?"
Duan Ganshan laughed and said, "Thanks to you, I know that our Luoyan Mountain has so many advantages." He walked around Liu Zhuiyi with his hands behind his back and said, "You are incapable of passing through my Luoyan Mountain, and you are robbed of your money, so you say that we are narrow-minded? Have you ever seen a broad-minded bandit? Otherwise, I would not be a bandit if I let passers-by go? We brothers have to eat and drink when we live in Luoyan Mountain. If we don't want to be robbed, we might as well go around the mountain."
"It's futile." Liu Zhuiyi rolled his eyes at him and said.
Duan Ganshan took off the leather gloves on his hands, looked up at Liu Zhuiyi, and said, "This money is not too little or too little. My brother took it. If you want to get it back, just beat me down." Then, he spread his arms like a scoundrel, closed his eyes, and said, "Hit me in the face."
This is intolerable, I have never seen someone so arrogant while robbing money! Liu Zhuiyi thought to himself: Do you really think I dare not fight?
Liu Zhuiyi raised her fist and threw it at Duan Ganshan's face. Duan Ganshan felt the wind coming close to him, so he stretched out his hand and firmly grasped Liu Zhuiyi's small fist, and she couldn't get away. Liu Zhuiyi was anxious and kicked him. Duan Ganshan leaned down slightly, and put his other hand around Liu Zhuiyi's waist, and threw her into the air. Liu Zhuiyi was terrified, and was about to step on Duan Ganshan's body, but Duan Ganshan pushed her back, and Liu Zhuiyi immediately turned her back to him. Duan Ganshan pulled Liu Zhuiyi into his arms, clamped her right hand to her waist with one hand, and held her arm with the other hand to prevent her from attacking anyone.
This posture made Liu Zhuiyi feel annoyed and embarrassed. She struggled and said, "Let me go!"
The second master and his men stood by and shouted, "Brother, don't let her go. This little girl is fierce. Capture her and make her your wife!"
"Your second wife is the leader of the group!" Liu Zhuiyi shouted at the second master.
Duan Ganshan grabbed Liu Zhuiyi's jaw, tilted his head to look at her, and deliberately said, "She is pretty, and I like her personality, so let's do as the second brother says."
"I'll kill you, you big-headed ghost." Liu Zhuiyi was angry, stretched her neck and bit Duan Ganshan's mouth. Duan Ganshan frowned in pain, but did not let go. After Liu Zhuiyi bit her to her heart's content, Duan Ganshan grabbed her with his backhand and said angrily: "Old Four, carry her to the village!"
"Okay!" Dog brother couldn't wait to come over and carry Liu Zhuiyi on his shoulders, patted her butt in a rude manner and said, "Be good and listen."
Liu Zhuiyi kept cursing Duan Ganshan over Gou Ge's shoulder, but Duan Ganshan ignored her.
Uncle Wu, who brought Liu Zhuiyi here, didn't know what to do when he saw this. Duan Ganshan comforted him and said, "Uncle Wu, you should go back first. This girl is too wild. I will lock her up for a few days, teach her a lesson, and then let her go. I won't hurt her."
Uncle Wu trusted Duan Ganshan's character, so he didn't know what to say, so he said, "Thank you, Mr. Duan." Then he drove the ox cart back to Lingqiu County.
"Brother, what are you going to do with this woman?" Second Master came over and asked.
Duan Ganshan looked at the deep tooth marks on the tiger's mouth and frowned, "Starve her for a few days first."
Erye nodded and followed Duan Ganshan back to Luoyan Mountain.
