Chapter 7 Loving You is My Destiny 02
As soon as July started the engine, he stepped on the accelerator hard and we headed straight for the cliff of death.
I just realized that July’s driving skills are so proficient. When I rode in her car before, she always drove quite conservatively.
I turned on the navigation on my phone, and it showed that if there was no traffic jam, it would take us at least half an hour to arrive. However, it only took July 20 minutes to get to a place only a few hundred meters away from the destination.
I didn't expect to arrive so quickly. I looked at her with admiration: "Qiyue, you are amazing..."
"Hey, I took a shortcut." July smiled at me, "We'll get there after passing this light."
"Do you think we can stop them in time?" I looked at the cars in front of us waiting for the traffic light, feeling a little unsure.
She pursed her lips and saw the green light in front of her turn. Cars were driving in a line and she immediately followed them. Then, with a beautiful left turn, the car drove onto the side road.
"Let's take a gamble." July said.
The road conditions here are somewhat special, with a steep cliff on one side and a cliff on the other. Below the cliff is the sea, and the sound of surging waves constantly hits the rocks. July held his breath and stared at the front.
Although it was only a few hundred meters away, because it was a mountain road by the sea, there were cars coming out from time to time on the occasional side roads, so July didn't dare to drive too fast.
Soon, the mobile navigation showed that we had arrived at our destination.
July whistled, looked ahead and said, "Look! We're catching up with them."
I heard this and looked ahead. Not far from us, there were two luxury cars parked at the entrance of a fork in the road. One was a silver-white Bentley and the other was a lemon yellow McLaren.
"That's the Death Cliff over there!" July said as he stepped on the accelerator and drove towards them.
Who would have thought that just a little bit later, the two cars drove out at the same time like arrows from a bow. Soon, they were separated by a distance, the silver-white Bentley was flying in the front like a wave of light, and the lemon yellow McLaren was chasing rapidly behind.
"Damn it!" July yelled, honking the horn as hard as he could.
"July, what should we do now?" I said anxiously, "It looks very dangerous over there, will they be okay?"
"What else can I do? I can only keep chasing!" July gritted his teeth, stepped on the accelerator and chased after him, honking the horn as he chased.
"July, be careful! It's dangerous here!" I looked at the scenery around me that was rapidly receding, and my heart was tightened.
Nothing can happen to you!
July, please don’t get into any trouble!
Fang Xuyu, please don't get into any trouble!
Xue Ye, you'd better be fine! Otherwise Qi Yue and Fang Xu Yu will be implicated!
It seemed like God heard my prayers. The two cars in front seemed to hear the horn and slowed down at the same time. July stepped on the accelerator again and excitedly caught up.
At this moment, for some reason, the two cars in front suddenly honked their horns like crazy. The McLaren slowed down and gradually pulled away from the Bentley.
July shouted and passed it. I turned around quickly and saw a man wearing a black helmet sitting in the driver's seat through the windshield. I didn't know if it was Xue Ye or Fang Xuyu. I only knew that he kept honking the horn, as if to remind us of something.
July was so proud of himself that he caught up with the McLaren that he ignored the horns behind him and stepped on the accelerator to chase the Bentley in front. I thought, our goal is to stop them from racing on such a dangerous road. Now that the McLaren is behind us, it doesn't matter if we don't chase the one in front, so I wanted to ask July to drive slower and pull over to the side and stop with the McLaren.
But before I could say anything, after turning a sharp bend, a large truck slowly appeared not far ahead.
"Damn it!" July cursed and slammed on the brakes in panic. Just as they were about to collide, a silver-white Bentley on the other lane suddenly sped past.
After a loud "bang", I saw the Bentley in front of me hit the rear of the truck.
July swerved to avoid them, and the tires scraped against the ground violently, making a terrible scraping sound. I opened my eyes wide in horror and watched our car scrape past the corner of the Bentley and stop at the guardrail a little further away. Everything happened too fast, and there was no time to react.
At the last second before the car stopped, Qiyue rushed over and protected me tightly. My forehead hit the car, and I felt like my bones were about to fall apart. There was blood all over my eyes, and I couldn't tell whose blood it was.
My vision was blurry, and I could only hear July comforting me weakly: "Don't be afraid..."
Someone outside the car was calling me. I moved my lips but couldn't say anything. Dizziness and severe pain in my arm followed. Finally, my consciousness fell into endless darkness.
When I woke up, I saw Fang Xuyu's face. How is July?
I suddenly sat up, yanking the IV and the bandage on my wrist, gasping in pain.
"Don't move, your arm is injured." Fang Xuyu held me down when I wanted to get out of bed and hung up the IV.
I looked around, grabbed his clothes, frowned and asked, "Where are Qiyue and Xueye?"
"Xue Ye is dead." He looked at me and said calmly.
I looked at him, unable to recover for a long time. The scene before the car accident reappeared in my mind. The silver-white Bentley gave way to us, which also bought us time and reduced the impact. July's car passed by the Bentley. The person in that car was Xue Ye.
He died to give us a chance to live.
This man who destroyed my innocence saved me at the last moment of his life. I will never guess what he was thinking at the last moment.
Hatred and grudges, returned to dust. Xue Ye repaid me in his own way.
"What about July?" I asked after a long time.
"Not very good..." Fang Xuyu looked at me hesitantly, "It's a mild concussion, and the left arm was seriously injured, which led to infection. He has been in a coma. The doctor said that the patient may need surgery after waking up, otherwise his arm will be useless..."
The scene of July rushing over to protect me came to my mind. She loved playing guitar, singing, and being free. What would she do if she lost an arm?
It's all my fault! I've hurt Qiyue! I've hurt her! If I hadn't asked her to take me to find Fang Xuyu and Xue Ye, if we hadn't chased them to the cliff of death, if I hadn't always made her worry, if I hadn't always relied on Qiyue for protection, then Qiyue would still be the same Qiyue, and nothing would have happened to her, nothing...
I beat myself hard and cried uncontrollably. Fang Xuyu took my hand and let me punch him again and again without saying a word.
July was still in a coma in the intensive care unit. I visited her several times, but she showed no signs of waking up .
The moonlight was clear at night, and the stars were surprisingly large. I lay on the bed in my blue and white striped hospital gown, my eyes wandering. The wind blew in through the open window, blowing up a corner of the curtains. The fresh roses in the vase were fragrant, and the petals had just been sprayed with water, and crystal drops of water dripped on them.
Fang Xuyu bought the roses in the evening.
"Drink some porridge. You haven't eaten anything for a day." Fang Xuyu walked in, stared at me, and put the spoon to my mouth.
I silently took the spoon and drank it in one gulp. As a result, I grimaced in pain because it was so hot.
"If you want to burn me to death, just say it." I looked at him sideways, feeling extremely angry with him.
If it weren't for him, none of this would have happened! Zhong Man'er wouldn't have framed me, and she wouldn't have ended up like that; Xue Ye wouldn't have died, and Qi Yue wouldn't have been lying there quietly.
Fang Xuyu put down the bowl of porridge, turned his head to look out the window, and murmured: "The moonlight tonight is so beautiful."
"Are you still in the mood to appreciate the moonlight?" I asked sarcastically.
He tilted his head, leaned closer, and looked down into my eyes. I could smell the scent of roses and the breath of oppression, and my brows furrowed unconsciously.
"Are you blaming me?" he asked.
"What else? The two of us culprits are still alive, but innocent people are struggling on the brink of life and death. Shouldn't I blame you?" I blamed him for provoking Zhong Maner, blamed him for acting impulsively, and blamed myself for being a disaster, causing July to become what he is now.
If anything happens to July, I will never forgive myself or Fang Xuyu.
"Fang Weiyang, you know, I do all this for you." He looked into my eyes and said.
"Have you asked me?" I couldn't get over this hurdle in my heart, and an impolite voice rang in his ear, "You keep saying it's for me, but in fact you're just trying to make up for your own guilt, right?"
Will I feel better if he does these things? Will fighting evil with evil solve all problems?
Do not do to others what you do not want others to do to you, especially now that Xue Ye has lost his life.
"Fang Weiyang!" Fang Xuyu shouted angrily and walked towards the door.
"Isn't that so? Otherwise, why do you help me time and time again? Are you hopelessly in love with me?" I continued to mock him.
In the quiet night, the stars were as bright as diamonds. He paused at the door , without looking back or saying a word, and then continued to walk out, leaving me with only his lonely back.
