Chapter 6: Mr. Gu’s Tragic “Sparring History” 1
Su Jingjing kept repeating to herself that she didn't know this person, but she still couldn't convince herself. If Gu Rong didn't have a twin sister, then this person could only be a mutant of Gu Rong himself.

When Gu Rong opened his eyes again, it was almost noon. The sun was shining brightly, turning all the darkness of yesterday into the past. After the hangover, Gu Rong felt that his head was about to explode like a balloon, and he was exhausted. He reached out and patted his face. After he was completely sober, he found himself in a strange place.
Looking at the pink all over, Gu Rong thought he was still in a dream, and even thought he had fallen into a Hello Kitty trap, until he saw Qin Jingjing walking in in pajamas. He immediately jumped up from the bed holding the quilt, and began to stutter in surprise: "You you you... I I I... Why are you here?"
"Are you asking why you are here, or why I am here?" Qin Jingjing put on her coat and asked casually while sitting on a chair.
Gu Rong turned his head and asked in a low voice: "Why am I here?"
" Because you were drunk yesterday and called me, I went to pick you up." Qin Jingjing pushed her long hair behind her and continued, "As for why I am here, because this is my home."
"I called you?" Gu Rong went to get his clothes and took out his cell phone. He opened the call log and believed that he had really called Qin Jingjing. But why did he think of her? Gu Rong was puzzled.
"It was your bartender who called me." Qin Jingjing added when she saw Gu Rong squatting on the bed looking at his phone in confusion.
After Qin Jingjing's reminder, Gu Rong remembered the cause and effect of the incident: after he came out of school, he wandered around the street, and went to a bar to drink at night. When he was drunk, the bartender asked him if he wanted someone to take him home. But he handed the phone to the bartender and said he was looking for Jingjing. It was probably because the bartender didn't hear clearly, and Qin Jingjing's first letter was before Su Jingjing in the list, so the bartender mistook "Jingjing" for "Jingjing".
Gu Rong knew that he had no right to blame Qin Jingjing, so he put on his clothes and expressed his gratitude to Qin Jingjing. "Thank you for picking me up last night. I really don't know how to thank you." He said.
Qin Jingjing looked at her nails that were polished to a sparkling shine and said with a smile, "Reimburse me for the taxi fare."
Gu Rong was speechless. Although he knew that Qin Jingjing was the kind of person who was greedy for money, he still took out his wallet and said "thank you" to her out of politeness.
Coming out of Qin Jingjing's house, Gu Rong squinted his eyes and looked at the sun. He suddenly felt emotional. If Su Jingjing was here, she would definitely not ask him for money. Sure enough, the difference between people is not just a matter of the tone of their names.
Unconsciously, Gu Rong had completely eliminated Qin Jingjing from his heart, and replaced her with Su Jingjing who had always been by his side. Gu Rong suddenly missed Su Jingjing, the silly Su Jingjing who never asked for anything in return. So, he took out his cell phone and called Su Jingjing, but unfortunately the phone was always turned off. Su Jingjing never turned off her phone, which confused Gu Rong. While he was confused, his father suddenly called.
"Hello, Dad?" Gu Rong answered the phone carefully. Even the sound of the phone could not stop him from nodding and bowing subconsciously.
Father Gu rebuked Gu Rong sternly: "How dare you answer the phone? The school told me that you were caught cheating on the exam and might be expelled!"
Gu Rong slapped his forehead, thinking that good things don't work, but bad things do. He was worried before answering the phone, thinking that his father came prepared, but he didn't expect that it was really related to this matter.
"Dad, please listen to my explanation. I was tricked..." Before Gu Rong could finish his words, he was interrupted by his father.
"I don't want to hear your explanation." Father Gu had no intention of listening to Gu Rong's defense. "There is one more thing I want to tell you. The trouble you caused has been resolved. The eldest daughter is getting engaged and will probably never cause trouble for you again. So I have already told Su Jingjing to terminate the contract. Since the trouble is resolved, your mother wants you to come back and stay with her."
"What? Let me go back to America?" Gu Rong was shocked. If he had been told this decision half a year ago, he would have jumped up and shouted long live his father. But now he was so anxious that he tried desperately to stop his father's decision. "Dad, I don't want to go back to China. Please let me stay here."
"Stay there? Why?"
"I just got along well with my classmates and teachers here, but I have to start all over again when I return to my country. And here, Chinese is my mother tongue, so communication is smoother..." Gu Rong was a little incoherent, "Dad, please let me stay here."
Father Gu disagreed with Gu Rong's statement: "You just want to get out of my control. I tell you, it's impossible!"
"Dad, it was my fault for cheating in this exam. Please give me another chance. If..." Gu Rong suddenly had an idea, "If I fail the make-up exam, I will listen to you and return home, okay?" Gu Rong knew that his father had a good relationship with the school principal, otherwise he would not have been "airdropped" to study at University A.
"You really won't give up until you reach the Yellow River. Okay, I'll agree to this just once, but if you fail the make-up exam, you have to come back to me obediently." Father Gu was protecting his son after all. Seeing that his son rarely begged him like this, he couldn't bear to refuse.
"Thank you, Dad." Gu Rong said happily, then he remembered something and immediately asked seriously, "Dad, when did you terminate your contract with Su Jingjing?"
"this morning."
"Oh, then will she still study at A University?" Gu Rong continued to ask.
Gu's father replied: "Our original condition was that no matter when the contract was terminated, I would pay for her four years of college tuition."
Gu Rong was relieved. After all, as long as Su Jingjing was still by his side, it didn't matter to him whether there was a contract or not. But why did Su Jingjing suddenly disappear? Gu Rong wanted to find out the truth. After hanging up the phone with his father, Gu Rong called Amy: "Amy, is Jingjing by your side? I called her, but she didn't answer. "
Amy was sitting in the library reviewing. When she heard Gu Rong's voice, she immediately called out, causing protests from the students around her. Seeing this, she could only take her phone and walk out of the library. Then she said to Gu Rong in a cold voice: "Come back to school and I'll tell you."
Although Gu Rong was confused, he still returned to University A and followed Amy's instructions to find her in the pavilion outside the library. When Gu Rong arrived, Amy was sitting on a bench reviewing her lessons.
Now that winter is deep in the air, the pavilion that was once tightly covered by vines in the summer has now become bare and desolate.
"Amy?" Gu Rong called out.
When Amy heard Gu Rong's voice, she immediately put down her book, stood up and walked to Gu Rong.
"What's wrong with Jingjing? Why is her phone always turned off?" Gu Rong asked in confusion.
Amy stared at Gu Rong, as if trying to see something in his eyes, but unfortunately she couldn't see anything. "How much do you remember about last night?" she asked.
Gu Rong rubbed his hair and said embarrassedly, "I drank too much last night and wanted to ask the bartender to call Jingjing, but who knew that Qin Jingjing's name was before Jingjing in alphabetical order. The tones of the two names are similar, so the bartender called Qin Jingjing. I was also shocked when I woke up this morning."
"Wait." Amy interrupted Gu Rong, "So you mean, your name is 'Jingjing' instead of 'Jingjing'?"
Gu Rong nodded honestly.
Amy gritted her teeth and cursed, "This bastard!"
"Ah?" Gu Rong saw Amy's expression as if she wanted to kill him, and then looked around to see that there was no one else. He was immediately frightened and said to Amy in a trembling voice, "Ai, Amy... We are classmates, you can't do this to me."
Amy pushed Gu Rong with her hand and said quickly, "Last night, Han Ran took us to look for you. You were lying on Qin Jingjing's bed and called yourself 'Jingjing', but we all thought you were called 'Jingjing' at that time."
"How did Han Ran know?" Gu Rong couldn't help but ask.
Amy waved her arm and said, "I'll find out. But Jingjing looked for you all night yesterday. She didn't go to the afternoon exam and refused to go home even though she had a high fever. Later, after leaving Qin Jingjing's house, she fainted. We sent her to the hospital, and the doctor said she needed an IV drip, so she still can't come to school today."
"You said she was looking for me all night?" Gu Rong asked in disbelief, his eyes dazed.
"Let me tell you, Jingjing really likes you and cares about you, otherwise she wouldn't affect her exams for an irrelevant person. You also know how much Jingjing wants to stay in college. So, Gu Rong, if you don't take Jingjing's feelings seriously, she will be snatched away by someone sooner or later. And, even if she is not snatched away by someone, if she gives up on you, do you think you still have a chance?" Amy pointed at Gu Rong angrily, "You are just relying on Jingjing's love for you, but have you ever thought about what qualifications you have to stand in front of her if she doesn't like you anymore?"
Gu Rong has always been arrogant and domineering since he was a child. If someone dared to point at his nose and curse at him like Amy did now, he would definitely turn hostile, no matter who the other person was. But he couldn't refute anything Amy said today. He really just relied on Su Jingjing's love for him. If one day Su Jingjing didn't like him anymore, he would really be nothing.
He suddenly remembered the first time he met Su Jingjing. The two of them were dragging each other in the hotel room, as if they could not rest for a moment. Later, Su Jingjing became his bodyguard and obeyed his orders. Although she had the title of "bodyguard", she actually did the work of a nanny. No matter how he made things difficult for her or blamed her, she silently endured everything. This was not actually the responsibility of a "bodyguard", but because of her love for him...
Later, his father cut off his financial support, and Su Jingjing bought him meals out of her own pocket. When she saw that he was unhappy, she was always more worried than anyone else.
She accompanied him to set up the stall, sometimes even until late at night, but she never complained, and was more diligent than anyone else...
In an instant, Gu Rong understood that it was because of Su Jingjing's company that the days passed so quickly. It was Su Jingjing who made him understand that he should not waste his time, but spend every day seriously. Even if difficulties come, he should stride forward and face them bravely with a smile.
His change was all because of her - a girl named Su Jingjing.
Thinking of this, Gu Rong raised his head, with a rare serious light in his eyes: "Where is she? I'll go find her."
Amy told him the address of the hospital, and Gu Rong turned and ran towards the hospital. The hospital was near the school, and he couldn't wait to run to Su Jingjing and tell her that he loved her very much. Maybe it was not a good idea to confess in the hospital, but Gu Rong could not care less. Although Amy's words were impolite, they were the truth. Gu Rong could face the disappointed eyes of the whole world without fear, but he did not have the courage to accept Su Jingjing's loss.
He must find Su Jingjing.
"Jingjing!" Gu Rong pushed open the door of the ward and found that there was no one inside.
"Who are you looking for?" a young nurse who was passing by came over and asked.
Gu Rong turned around and pointed at the empty bed and asked, "Where is the girl who originally lived here?"
"Her fever subsided, she completed the formalities and left."
Gu Rong stood at the door of the ward with a sense of loss, looking at the empty ward, with mixed feelings in his heart. He suddenly understood the importance of Su Jingjing in his heart, but unfortunately, Su Jingjing did not see this scene.
