Chapter 6: Family Games You Never Get Tired of 3
After calming down, I walked out of the kitchen with two steaks. There was no sign of Hongze in the living room, only a set of uniforms scattered on the floor, and the TV was playing the Chibi Maruko-chan cartoon. I had a bad feeling in my heart.
The bathroom door opened quietly, and Hongze walked out. He was wearing the same dark gray lapel T-shirt and khaki trousers as Chibi Maruko's grandfather, and his bald head was shining.
I was so scared that my eyes almost popped out of their sockets, and I stammered, "Head, where's my hair?"
"Even if no one in the world favors Chibi Maruko-chan," Hongze walked up to me and clenched his fists in front of his chest like Chibi Maruko's grandfather, "but I favor Chibi Maruko-chan the most, the most." After saying that, Hongze opened his arms towards me and looked at me with a smile.
It was obviously a funny scene, but no one had ever stood in front of me like this, opening their arms to me as if they could be my support.
My tears gushed out uncontrollably. I bit my lips to stop myself from crying out loud, and rushed over with two plates of steak as if I had suffered a great injustice.
Hongze shouted "Steak, steak", then used his magic power to place two plates of steak steadily on the coffee table and hugged me back gently.
I buried my head in Hongze's shoulder and mumbled with a nasal voice: "I'm not Chibi Maruko-chan, are you stupid? I'm Fu Lingmiao..."
"Okay, okay." Hongze patted me lightly, "Even if everyone in the world doesn't favor Fu Lingmiao, I still favor Fu Lingmiao the most."
"This, this is better..." I sniffed, and then realized that I was in Hongze's arms, and became shy. "Eat, or the steak will get cold."
"Yes, steak...we eat steak."
Hongze seemed to be reminded by me, and the hand that was holding me suddenly stiffened. He withdrew his hand and walked towards the coffee table awkwardly.
The atmosphere became awkward because of our shyness. I touched my hot cheeks and sat down at the coffee table. Hongze, who was also blushing, looked at me and we both burst out laughing.
"Where did you learn this?"
"Xu Zhishang said that when he mentioned his family, the first person he thought of was his grandfather, and when he mentioned his grandfather, the first person he thought of was Chibi Maruko's grandfather."
"Pfft, so you wear the same clothes as Chibi Maruko's grandfather, say the same things that Chibi Maruko's grandfather said, and then you become Chibi Maruko's grandfather?"
"You..." Hongze's already red face turned even redder, as if blood could drip out. He stared at me with a tangled frown, "I will become Fu Lingmiao's grandfather!"
Hongze's unconvinced look made me laugh. I waved my hands and said, "Forget it. You look really weird without hair. It's a pity to waste your beautiful black hair."
Hongze glared at me without saying anything. He finished his steak in a few bites, stood up and looked down at me: "I will definitely become a member of your family!"
After saying that, he walked into the bathroom and slammed the door shut, leaving me alone sitting stupidly beside the coffee table.
"I screwed up again..."
Looking at the closed door, I sighed helplessly. The delicious steak on the coffee table did not arouse my appetite. I ate two bites in a hurry, threw down my knife and fork, ran back to the room, and plunged into the translation documents.
the next day.
"Hmm? Where's the alarm?"
I don’t know what time I went to bed last night, but I was lying on the bed, touching the bedside table randomly with my hand.
The room was darker than usual, without a single ray of sunlight. I felt a little strange, and when I sat up, I saw a thick quilt hanging on the window! It was the quilt I prepared for Hongze!
I pulled the quilt down from the window in despair. The dazzling sunlight instantly shone into the room, and the whole room became bright. The fierce sunlight told me that it was already nine o'clock in the morning!
I glanced at the table, and sure enough, my computer and phone were not in their original places. All of this was done by Hongze, so I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm my anger.
"Oh! No! I'm so angry!" Even with my eyes closed, I could feel the dazzling sunlight. Thinking of the quilt in my hands that needed to be washed again, I became even more angry. I rushed out of the room without caring that I was still in pajamas.
There was a fish tank with small koi carps floating in the air. Hongze had long hair that almost reached the ground. He was wearing a black silk buttoned Tang suit and a pair of loose cropped trousers. He was holding a small teapot in one hand and fish food in the other, teasing the small koi carps in the fish tank.
Linglong jumped hard towards the fish tank in the air on the coffee table, but she didn't even touch the bottom of the tank and fell to the floor.
I squeezed the quilt in my hand and threw it at him angrily. I felt the blood rushing to my head and I wanted to fall to the ground and faint. What is this guy doing?
Hongze dodged the quilt and leisurely threw two fish food into the fish tank. As if he had just seen me, he said in a long tone: "Lingmiao, you're up. Grandpa wanted you to sleep a little longer. Students nowadays have too much academic pressure and don't pay attention to rest. Children should act like children, sleep in or something..."
Seeing Hongze like this, I was so angry that I was shaking all over: "What are you doing? Why did you hang the quilt on the window? Why did you take away my alarm clock, mobile phone and computer?"
"Hey, don't lose your temper..." Hongze picked up the quilt on the ground as if nothing had happened, sat down on the sofa, and patted the place next to him to signal me to sit over there. "Grandpa just saw that you slept late last night, so he wanted you to have a good rest and sleep in. Lingmiao is so smart, shouldn't she have already learned what was taught in school?"
"Even if I'm smart and I can do it, it's not a reason for me not to go to school!"
"Grandpa called the teacher and asked for leave for you in his name and voice. The teacher didn't find anything unusual and approved it happily."
"Hiss..." I gasped and rubbed my temple in pain. "Why did you keep calling yourself grandpa? You even called the teacher to ask for leave in the name of grandpa. Are you trying to piss me off to death? Which teacher doesn't know that I'm an orphan? Why don't you just tell the teacher that I was kidnapped?"
"Lingmiao, don't be angry, don't be angry. Grandpa studied the TV all night yesterday. The grandpas in the TV all used a birdcage to play with the birds. Grandpa couldn't find the birdcage, so he thought about the fish tank at home, so he played with Xiaojin..."
I didn't expect Hongze's answer. I grabbed the phone on the coffee table and saw that it was full of calls and text messages from Zhou Mian.
I looked up and saw Hongze looking forward to being praised. I interrupted him with a wave of my hand: "Home? Whose home? What's your relationship with me? Do you think you are my grandfather just because you dress yourself up as an old Beijing man? What do you care what time I go to bed? I am a student and I have to go to school. This is the rule of our human society. Do you think you are a human being just because you are wearing human skin? You think whatever you want, have you ever thought about how much trouble you have caused to others?"
Hongze was shocked by my anger. He pointed at my finger like a little wife and explained intermittently: "I... I just feel bad..."
"I told you I'll be home, I told you I'll be back..." The sudden ringing of a cell phone interrupted Hongze's words. I took a look and saw that it was Zhou Mian calling.
As soon as I picked up the phone, Zhou Mian's deafening voice came out immediately: "Fu Lingmiao! Do you want to die? You didn't come to school for class and a ghost grandfather popped up! If you didn't answer the phone all morning, I would call the police! You'd better have a good excuse, otherwise you'll die!"
I covered my ears and began to explain: "Well, Zhou Mian, don't worry. Listen to me, Hongze saw that I stayed up too late translating documents yesterday, so he wanted me to sleep a little longer. He was also pretending to be the grandfather, and he did this because he cared about me."
"Hongze? It's him again, always making a fuss about these things all day long. If you had just let him take the Soul Binding Cage away that day, there would have been no problem. Oh, forget it, I won't say any more. I'm glad you're okay. I have class now. Remember to come to class this afternoon and remember to think of a reason to explain to the teacher."
Zhou Mian on the other end of the phone listened to my explanation and said nothing more. He simply said a few words and hung up.
I put the phone on the coffee table and looked up at Hongze. He originally looked like a bullied young wife, but now he became a little angry.
I felt a little helpless and said unhappily, "Why? It's me who's being scolded, not you."
"Zhou Mian Zhou Mian, you are just Zhou Mian Zhou Mian all day long." Hong Ze muttered in a low voice.
I didn't hear clearly, so I asked again: "What did you say?"
"I said, I deliberately didn't let you go to school! It's not because you slept too late last night, and it's not because I care about you. Don't be so self-indulgent, go find your Zhou Mian!"
"Self-conceited? Can you use idioms now?"
Probably stimulated by my surprised expression, Hongze pushed me away and rushed into the bathroom without looking back: "Whatever I want!"
The fish tank floating in the air slowly flew towards the bathroom. I watched in amazement as Hongze pushed the bathroom door open a little and tried to take the fish tank in.
The fish tank hit the door panel with a bang. Hongze finally couldn't stand it anymore. He leaned out half of his body and took the fish tank in, not forgetting to glare at me fiercely.
When I looked at Hongze, I immediately covered my mouth to prevent him from seeing me laughing.
The bathroom door slammed shut again, and I finally couldn't help but burst out laughing.
I have been with Hongze for such a long time. Although I have always known how arrogant and hypocritical he is, this is the first time I have seen him so angry and embarrassed.
I laughed for a while, then I started to feel hungry. I rubbed my stomach and a good idea came to my mind. I picked up Linglong at my feet, leaned against the bathroom door frame, and said casually, "Oh, it's still early today, how about ordering a pizza? A 9-inch pizza seems too much, I can't finish it by myself." The door was opened with a bang, and Hongze jumped out and shouted, "12 inches!"
"Okay, 12 inches." I smiled, picked up the phone on the coffee table, and started ordering pizza.
Hongze sat down next to me holding the fish tank, and put on his usual pullover sweater. He swayed back and forth, singing a song I had never heard before: "Pizza, pizza 12 inches, 12, 12 pizza..."
I joked with him, "Look at you, how can you be a grandfather? You are just a greedy little brat."
Hongze looked at me and muttered, "Eat pizza first, then be a grandfather."
"What are you thinking about? I have to go to school after eating pizza."
Hongze had already turned on the TV. Linglong climbed onto the fish tank while Hongze was not paying attention, stretched out her little claws to fiddle with the little koi, and scared Hongze to scream.
The sound of TV dramas, cats meowing, keystrokes, and Hongze’s shouts…
All the sounds were intertwined in this room, and warmth spread from the bottom of my heart.
The black uniforms and black Tang suits overlapped on the ground, and the thought of "maybe Hongze can really become a family member" echoed in my mind.
