Chapter 6 Blooming 3
Chen Qiaoluo has worked many jobs over the years. The police did not go into details, but only said that someone reported that he was also involved.
As if he understood what I wanted to ask, Chen Qiaoluo said, "It was Lei Zi. I helped him with some things for a while. The police came to me to take a statement. They said that a car repair shop under Lei Zi's name was closed down, and many things inside were stolen. I was also involved because I worked there for a while. But, Zhu Junhao, believe me, I really didn't know about these things until today."
At the end, his voice sounded a little anxious.
Seeing him like this, I couldn't help crying again.
As if he didn't expect me to cry, Chen Qiaoluo hurried over to wipe my tears. When his slightly rough hand brushed my cheek, I choked and said, "I believe you, no matter what, I believe you."
Chen Qiaoluo's case is more difficult to handle. I asked my dad to help find out, but the news I got was that someone was deliberately trying to drag him into trouble, but there was no evidence to prove that he didn't do it.
In the first few days of school, I was so anxious that I almost lost my appetite. My father couldn't help sighing when he saw me like this, and Aunt Shen also came to persuade me several times. But I knew that if Chen Qiaoluo was not rescued, once this crime was confirmed, he would have no future. Whenever I thought of this, I couldn't help but tremble.
Aunt He Pei lost a lot of weight in just a few days because of Chen Qiaoluo's incident. Whenever I saw her, her eyes were red. She always blamed herself for not taking good care of Chen Qiaoluo, which led to his current state. Self-blame and worry came over her, and she fell ill in bed a few days later.
I didn't tell Chen Qiaoluo about Aunt He Pei. Whenever he asked about it, I would always tell him that Aunt He Pei was fine and was outside trying to find a way to rescue him.
Telling lies like this a few times won't work in the long run.
I never thought that Guyu would find me at this time. The first thing he said when he saw me was: "Hello Zhu Yun, I have a way to save Chen Qiaoluo, do you believe me?"
Guyu's appearance brought new light and hope to me who was in despair. Guyu told me that he heard about Chen Qiaoluo's case at school, and that there happened to be a neighbor near his home who had worked in that auto repair shop and could prove that Chen Qiaoluo had not done those bad things. He took me to find his neighbor, and that person also expressed his willingness to help us.
Chen Qiaoluo's case seemed to have taken a turn for the better from this moment on. The neighbor went to the police station to make a statement, and Chen Qiaoluo's case was re-investigated.
Guyu and I walked out of the police station. I didn't know when the outside was already filled with bright spring sunshine. I walked a long way with him, then suddenly stopped, looked at him seriously and said, "Guyu, thank you, thank you for helping Chen Qiaoluo without any grudges."
Seeing me say this, he smiled gently, looked at me and said, "Although Chen Qiaoluo and I are irreconcilable, I have never thought of ruining his life. His father caused the tragedy of my family. Although I can't control myself from hating Chen Qiaoluo, at least I know what it means to have a clear conscience."
His answer made me bow my head, and I felt ashamed. To be honest, when Guyu first said those words, I was skeptical. After all, he and Chen Qiaoluo had such a deep hatred, and normal people would doubt his purpose. But I was too anxious at that time, so I had to give it a try no matter what the result was. Fortunately, I took this gamble, and fortunately Guyu was a real gentleman.
Seeing me lower my head, Guyu's voice floated over again. He said, "Hello Zhu Yun, actually, I don't even know why I did this. I told myself that it was because I knew the truth of the matter, so I had to tell it, but why did I know this truth? I think it might be because of you. Because I was worried about you, I couldn't help but want to know what I could do."
Guyu’s words left me stunned. I looked up in surprise, only to see that he looked calm and composed.
Seeing me like this, he smiled again and said, "Let's go, the class bell is about to ring."
The investigation into Chen Qiaoluo was reopened and he was released a week later.
Aunt He Pei was overjoyed and prepared a meal at home to invite me over. At the table, she kept helping me pick up food and saying thank you to me.
Chen Qiaoluo opened the pull ring of the coconut juice in front of me and handed it to me, looking at me with eyes full of seriousness and affection.
He said, "Hello Zhu Yun, thank you."
I hesitated for a moment before speaking: "Actually, it was Guyu who really helped you."
When they first heard the name, Chen Qiaoluo and Aunt He Pei were stunned. It took Chen Qiaoluo a while to react. He looked at me and asked, "Are you saying that Guyu helped me get out?"
I nodded vigorously. In fact, these days I often think of what Guyu said to me that day, the words that were like a confession, but I can't tell Chen Qiaoluo about it, I can only keep it in my heart.
Silence flowed wantonly in the air. I don't know how long it was before I heard Aunt He Pei sigh and say, "It must be the child from the Gu family. Our family has already been sorry enough for him, but we didn't expect that we would have to owe him such a big favor now. Ah Luo, I think we will never be able to repay him in this lifetime."
Chen Qiaoluo lowered his head and said nothing more.
After dinner, Aunt He Pei cleaned up the dishes and Chen Qiaoluo took me home. He was silent all the way, and just as I was about to get in the car, he suddenly said to me: "Hello, Yun, please say thank you to Guyu for me."
I was stunned for a moment, then smiled at him and said, "Okay, I'll help you convey it."
I brought a lot of fruits to visit Guyu's mother in the hospital. I often appeared here during the last semester. She recognized me and greeted me with a smile: "I haven't seen you for a long time."
Unlike before, this time Guyu's mother seemed to be in much better health, and her face gradually became radiant. After hearing what she said, I put the things on the cabinet and said with a smile: "I have been busy recently, so I haven't come to see you much. Auntie, your face is so rosy, you should be in better health, right?"
"It's getting better, probably because spring has come." Guyu's mother pointed to the chair next to her and said, "Sit down for a while. Xiaoyu went to buy something for me. He should be back soon."
As she finished speaking, there was a noise at the door. I turned around and saw Gu Yu standing there. He seemed to have not expected me to come over. He was stunned for a moment, then asked, "Hello, Zhu Yun, why are you here?"
"I came to see you for something." I smiled and asked, "Do you have time to talk?"
Guyu and I sat side by side on a bench on the hospital lawn. There were hospitalized children playing and the sun was shining gently on the ground.
I narrowed my eyes and said, "Actually, I came here this time to say thank you on behalf of Chen Qiaoluo. He knows you don't want to see him, so I have to say it on his behalf."
Seeing me say this, Guyu smiled gently and said, "He is quite clear in his heart. If it was him sitting next to me now, who knows what I would do."
As soon as the words fell, we both couldn't help but burst out laughing.
I don't know how long it took, but Gu Yu suddenly asked, "Hello Zhu Yun, you actually like Chen Qiaoluo, right?"
His words made me look at him, but I didn't know what he was thinking. He looked straight ahead and said, "You did so many things for Chen Qiaoluo, but it's not convincing just out of friendship."
Guyu’s words left me silent.
In fact, I had doubted whether I had fallen in love with Chen Qiaoluo long before, and it was not until he got into trouble and I was worried about him that I realized that I really fell in love with him. The fear of losing him and being afraid of not having him around from now on is not fake. I know that Chen Qiaoluo has become a unique existence to me.
A nurse came to take the group of children back. I opened my mouth and replied, "Yes, I like Chen Qiaoluo."
My answer made Guyu silent for a long while. After a while, he turned around and looked at me, and said half-seriously, "But what should I do, Zhu Yun, I think I like you a little bit."
This sudden confession left me stunned for a moment.
Seeing me like this, Guyu couldn't help but chuckle. He reached out and ruffled my hair, saying, "I was just kidding. Look how scared you are."
Is it really just a lie? Why do I always feel that there is a bit of bitterness in Guyu's eyes? But so what? I like Chen Qiaoluo, and Guyu is just a dream of mine.
I also smiled and said jokingly, "Master Gu suddenly confessed to me. I am flattered."
"Come on." Guyu pouted with amusement and said, "Don't think I know nothing. Many people in our class confessed to you before. Every time you walked past the door of our class, a group of boys would gather by the window and point fingers at you."
"Hey, now that you mention it, it seems to be true." I smiled and said narcissistically, "After all, I am so beautiful and have such a good personality, it is natural that someone likes me."
"Hello Zhu Yun, you are really shameless. If you are given some colors, you can open a dyeing factory." Guyu looked at me with amusement.
Seeing him like this, I couldn't help laughing anymore.
I think maybe this is the best ending. No matter if I once liked Guyu, or he likes me now, as long as no one exposes it, nothing will change.
