Chapter 6: A Shocking Flirtation
The next day, Wang Jingzhe slept until noon, and when he woke up, it was almost noon. He washed up quickly and packed his luggage. It was called luggage, but the things in it were very simple. There was just an old canvas bag with a few kitchen knives, towels, and a toothbrush, nothing else. His life had always been rather hard.
I walked out of the hotel with my bag on my back, stood on the street, closed my eyes, basked in the sun, stretched myself, took out a pack of cigarettes from my bag with my left hand, flicked one out and put it into my mouth.
"Pop". A cigarette was lit, and a black 750 stopped right in front of him. Wang Jingzhe bit the cigarette holder and lowered his head to see Lin Xianyu's face appearing in the lowered car window. It seemed that the shock of yesterday had been thrown away. The woman looked back to normal except for a little sadness on her face.
"According to what you said, we have reburied grandpa's coffin last night. Today, dad will ask someone to perform a ritual..." Lin Xianyu repeated what Wang Jingzhe had told him yesterday, and then said, "I'll take you wherever you want to go. If there are any questions, you can ask me on the way."
"Capital" Wang Jingzhe uttered two words while biting a cigarette.
"It's not far from Caofeidian, only about 200 kilometers and more than three hours." Lin Xianyu seemed to be very smart. She pointed at Wang Jingzhe's bag and got to the point immediately: "The things in your bag don't seem to be suitable for public transportation. It will be a bit troublesome if they are found during security checks."
"Bang!" Wang Jingzhe flicked away the cigarette butt, walked to the passenger seat, opened the door and sat in.
After Lin Xianyu turned the steering wheel and drove out, Wang Jingzhe suddenly said, "There's an alley over at Sunjiadong. Is the Sun Lao San Lu Zhu restaurant still open there?"
"It's open. My grandfather loved eating their stewed pork and steamed buns when he was alive. You seem to be very familiar with Caofeidian. It's a time-honored brand."
"I went there a few times when my old man took me to travel..."
Ten minutes later, Lin Xianyu drove to an alley near Sun Jiadong. After parking the car outside, the two of them walked into a small braised pork shop in the alley. There were only four tables in the shop, and opposite was a stove where the owner cooked and served the food.
Wang Jingzhe walked to a table covered in oil stains, pulled out a chair, picked up his robe and sat down. Lin Xianyu, who was dressed neatly, sat opposite him without any concern.
"Boss, give me a portion of braised pork," Wang Jingzhe stretched his neck and shouted, "Put more large intestines, more lungs, and a few more slices of pork kidneys."
The boss raised his head, squinted his eyes and said, "Why don't I just give you a pig?"
Wang Jingzhe twitched his mouth awkwardly and said, "Well, add more chili."
Lin Xianyu turned around and smiled: "Uncle Sun, give me three bowls of stewed vegetables with more chili peppers."
The boss immediately squinted his eyes and smiled: "Oh, Miss Lin is here, great!"
Wang Jingzhe scratched his nose and asked, "You can eat a lot. Two bowls for one person?"
"I'll have one bowl, and the remaining bowl is for the large intestine and kidneys you ordered." A woman's intelligence and emotional intelligence can be reflected in a small thing. Her actions undoubtedly made Wang Jingzhe's impression of her much better.
After a while, three bowls of stewed meat were served. Wang Jingzhe picked up the chopsticks and began to eat the food without hesitation. Lin Xianyu ate more civilized. He picked up a piece of lung and asked, "I don't know your last name yet?"
"Wang Jingzhe, I was born on the day of Jingzhe"
"If you were born on the winter solstice..."
Wang Jingzhe raised his head and said, "That's my sister, her name is Wang Dongzhi."
Lin Xianyu was speechless. She originally just wanted to find some topics to narrow the distance between them.
The two of them finished three large bowls of braised pork in just over ten minutes. Before Wang Jingzhe could pay, Lin Xianyu took the initiative to give him the money. Then the two of them walked out of the store, got out of the alley and returned to the car. Lin Xianyu drove towards the capital.
At the beginning, the road was relatively quiet. Wang Jingzhe seemed to be quite silent and didn't talk much. The few sentences they chatted were the other party asking questions and he answering. Later, when they got on the highway and there were fewer cars, Lin Xianyu suddenly let out the curiosity that he could not suppress in his heart.
"Are there really ghosts in this world?"
Wang Jingzhe said: "The rumor about ghosts and gods has been around for a long time, thousands of years from ancient times to the present. I can't tell you any definite answer, but I can only tell you one thing, that is, existence is the truth. What you have seen and experienced may not be true, and what you have not seen or experienced may not be false. Regarding your grandfather's matter, if you don't believe in ghosts and gods, you can regard it as a false alarm, and he will not come to you again in the future. If you believe in it, you should be more careful in the future. If you encounter something weird, just be careful and don't take it seriously."
"How could I not believe it?" Lin Xianyu sighed.
"You didn't believe it for the first thirty years, but you still got through it like this, didn't you?"
"Who said thirty years old?" Lin Xianyu turned his head speechlessly and said, "I'm only twenty-three, just in my early twenties. What are you looking at me with? How can I look like someone in his thirties?"
"Ah, ah." Wang Jingzhe nodded awkwardly and said, "I may be a little face-blind."
"Prosopagnosia means you can't recognize people. It's a problem with your eyes..."
Two hours later, the car got off the highway.
"Where are you going?"
Wang Jingzhe suddenly said with a little excitement: "Tianhe Prison"
"Huh?" Lin Xianyu looked at him in confusion.
Wang Jingzhe explained: "I have a friend who will be released from prison in a few days. I will go to see him, ask him when he will be released and wait for him."
"If you hadn't told me earlier, we wouldn't have gotten off the highway and would have had to drive dozens of kilometers further," Lin Xianyu said with a frown as he looked at the navigation.
"You didn't ask me where I was going," Wang Jingzhe said as a matter of course, spreading his hands.
Lin Xianyu rolled his eyes and entered the navigation. After finding the right direction, he started driving towards Daxing Tianhe and arrived at the destination around four o'clock in the afternoon.
At the prison gate, Wang Jingzhe pushed open the car door, turned around and said sincerely: "Thank you, you saved me a lot of trouble."
"I should be the one saying thank you to you. If it weren't for you, our family would be in big trouble." Lin Xianyu gathered her hair and tucked it behind her ears. Lin Xianyu, who is only in her twenties, has the aura of a mature woman. Maybe because of her family background, she exudes a dazzling temperament from the inside out. She is a woman who is eye-catching wherever she goes.
When Lin Xianyu was gathering her hair, Wang Jingzhe happened to turn around and talk to her. When he saw her charming movements, his eyes froze for a moment.
Lin Xianyu looked at him with a slightly pointed look and asked, "What are you looking at?"
Wang Jingzhe subconsciously said: "You can touch my hair, but why are you touching my heart..."
Lin Xianyu was immediately stunned by his teasing. This sentence, coupled with Wang Jingzhe's long robe and the tattered bag on his back, sounded a bit out of place no matter how he listened to it.
