Chapter 58: Yin-Yang Eyes
Cai Kun’s behavior surprised me.
Could it be that he did something else to deceive the baby boy in black?
"You...get out right now, right now!"
When the woman saw that her husband didn’t even pretend to be “crazy”, she panicked, came over, pushed me, and yelled.
"Let him stay."
Cai Kun said in a hoarse voice, his tone full of loneliness and self-mockery, "Since he is here, it proves that he already knows about me."
The woman frowned, looked at me, then looked at Cai Kun, and finally bit her lip, shook her hand, let me go, and sat down on the sofa angrily. Cai Kun also calmed down, sighed, and said, "Tell me, what did it say to you?"
"Tell me first, why did you betray it?" I looked at Cai Kun and said.
Cai Kun lowered his head, clenched his fists so tightly that his nails almost dug into his flesh. He gritted his teeth and said bitterly, "It's a wicked offspring! An evil wicked offspring!"
"Bastard? Then why are you playing with it so happily?" I sneered.
Cai Kun looked at me in surprise, then smiled bitterly and said, "It seems that you really know everything... Well, I tell you, I play with it not because I like playing with it, but if I don't play with it, I will die."
"Why do you think I was the only one who survived among so many night watchmen? The reason is very simple - in Building D, I can see them and communicate with them, so I became their tool to relieve boredom - the black-clothed baby boy, although evil, has an IQ similar to that of an ordinary baby. If you play with him, he will be happy. If you don't, he will kill people!"
I felt a chill in my heart when I heard this, and couldn't help asking, "Then why did you betray it?"
"It's not really a betrayal." Cai Kun said dejectedly, "In Building D, in order to survive, I promised to play with it for the rest of its life and never separate - but I secretly left Building D half a year ago - so I'm worried that it will hold a grudge against me and come looking for revenge."
I nodded, thinking that this was the case.
Cai Kun has a difficult time too. He dances with the wolves in Building D. On the surface, he seems quite impressive, but only he knows the pain in his heart...
Everything is for survival...
Cai Kun asked me, what message did the baby boy in black ask me to convey to him?
I scratched my head and smiled awkwardly: "Actually, I was lying to you. I can't even communicate with it, so how could I possibly have a message?"
After hearing what I said, Cai Kun was not angry. Instead, he showed a relieved expression and said, "That's good, that's good..."
"By the way, since you can't communicate with that evil creature, how do you know so much about me?" Cai Kun suddenly remembered something, sat up straight and asked me.
I thought that since I had to make Cai Kun confess, I might as well not hide anything, so I told him everything from the moment I entered Building D to what happened with Jia Jia last night.
After listening to my story, Cai Kun showed some fear on his face and murmured to himself: "Building D seems to be even more evil than when I was there..."
"What do you mean?" I asked hurriedly.
Cai Kun shook his head and didn't answer my question.
"By the way, do you really have the ability to see ghosts and gossips?" I couldn't help but ask.
Cai Kun looked up at me and said, "I don't know what Yin-Yang eyes are...but my eyes are indeed a little different from others."
I looked at Cai Kun's eyes carefully and found that they were small and ugly, like green beans. When he looked at things, he looked a little cross-eyed. They were nothing like the cool Yin-Yang eyes in the movies.
"Don't look at it. There was a time when I looked in the mirror for several hours every day but couldn't see anything." Cai Kun said with a wry smile.
Cai Kun said that since he was a child, he has been able to see some "things" that others cannot see. When he was about 5 or 6 years old, his parents went out to do farm work and Cai Kun was playing at home alone. The door that was originally closed was suddenly "creaked" and blown open by the wind. Then he saw a very long shadow "floating" in from inside. According to Cai Kun's description, the owner had very long arms and a very big head. The young Cai Kun was not afraid, so he watched this thing walking around in the house, then it walked in front of him, touched his head, and then left.
After that night, Cai Kun inexplicably developed a high fever. Going to the hospital for injections did not help, and it took more than a week for his condition to improve on its own. Cai Kun told his parents about his experience that day, but they didn't believe him.
Since then, Cai Kun often saw some strange things, some were outside the window; some were on the ceiling; some were hiding in the corners; some were hiding behind the door - no matter how Cai Kun explained to his parents, they were still unwilling to believe it, thinking that their son must have hallucinations.
"When I was in class at school, I saw an old man clinging to the window glass. The old man's face was covered in blood, and he was smiling at me coldly. I was so scared that I told the teacher, but the teacher thought I was deliberately making trouble. The class was on the fourth floor, how could there be someone outside? Later, I saw it so many times that I couldn't help but confide in others, but everyone treated me as a psycho and avoided me." Cai Kun said helplessly.
Cai Kun said that most of "those people" he saw had their heads down, their bodies were a gray hue, their faces were gloomy and expressionless - some were missing their heads, some were missing their arms, some had no eyes, some had skin ulcers, and even more exaggerated - some even had their bodies split in half, and they were still walking there.
He was ignorant when he was young, but when he reached a certain age, Cai Kun knew who "those people" were and began to feel afraid. Especially late at night, when he was walking and a black thing suddenly jumped out, he would often be scared half to death.
Not only outside, but even at home, the dirty things still swagger in and out, as if they were the gate to a vegetable garden, especially arrogant. One night, Cai Kun was sleeping soundly, and he felt a cold air rushing up his neck. He opened his eyes and saw a woman with a long face and messy hair lying next to him, blowing on his neck.
Cai Kun was so scared that his face turned pale and he wet the bed. He told his parents about it the next day, but his parents not only did not believe him, they blamed him for wetting the bed and beat him up.
Hearing this, I was a little scared. It’s hard to imagine how Cai Kun has survived all these years?
As if he could see what I was thinking, Cai Kun smiled bitterly and said, "I saw them so many times later that I got used to it. It's nothing serious. Most of them don't have any bad intentions. Only a few of them may have been influenced by something and became very evil."
"Affected by something?" I was stunned and asked, "What kind of influence?"
Cai Kun waved his hand and said that the formation and change of each yin object is extremely complex and has its reasons. Unless you understand it in depth, it is impossible to know the reason.
I slapped my thigh and said loudly, "You are absolutely right! Brother Cai, the reason I came to you this time is to ask you to go back to Building D with me to communicate with those dirty guys and ask them if they know why Building D——"
"Don't even think about it. I'll never go back to that damn place again!" Before I could finish, Cai Kun interrupted me with a gloomy face.
I became anxious and said that so many lives have been lost in Building D, and as the holder of the Yin-Yang Eyes, you can’t just sit back and do nothing!
"Oh, that's ridiculous. Yin-Yang vision is innate. Do you think I want to have Yin-Yang vision? Otherwise, you can take off my eyes and go to Building D to investigate by yourself?" Cai Kun snorted and said unhappily.
Seeing that Cai Kun was not eating or drinking, I gritted my teeth and said, "If you don't cooperate with me, I will tell the hospital about your crazy behavior!"
"It's up to you. The worst that can happen is that you won't get any money in the future. It's better than losing your life." Cai Kun curled his lips, looking indifferent.
I was at a loss for words... I didn't expect Cai Kun to be so averse to Building D.
But think about it, he had finally "escaped" from Building D, and now if he were to go back and face the baby boy in black again, I'm afraid no normal person would agree.
"You don't need to persuade me anymore. I will not go back to Building D. Working there is the thing I regret most in my life." Cai Kun said with a pale face: "From childhood to adulthood, I have seen countless dirty things, but never one as evil as Building D... Listen to me, you should quit your job as soon as possible. That place is not for human beings!"
I frowned and was about to speak, but at this moment, I heard a "pop" and the lights in the room flickered a few times and suddenly went out...
The entire living room was suddenly plunged into darkness...
"It, it's coming..."
Cai Kun's trembling voice rang out.
I was startled and asked, "Who's here?"
No one answered.
I stretched out my hand, trying to grab Cai Kun, but unexpectedly I grabbed nothing.
"Eeyah, eyah, eyah, eyah..."
A sharp, piercing cry of a baby, like the death knell of hell, slowly sounded, breaking the silence of the night...
