Chapter 58: The clue is interrupted

"Guess what we found?" As soon as Wang Zheng entered the office, Gao Feng pulled him in front of the computer. After tapping the keyboard a few times, a video soon appeared. "Take a look, this is a major discovery!"
"It's good enough as long as you have discovered something. Don't drag me down like this." Wang Zheng pushed Gao Feng's hand away with a complaining look, but his eyes were always fixed on the screen. Soon his expression became serious.
Judging from the brightness of the video, it should be evening, and the deceased in the video was tidying up the room as usual, but after a few seconds, the whole video became weird.
The video is only thirty seconds long, but it is somewhat different from ordinary candid photos.
First, the deceased's phone rang. When she answered the phone, her expression became a little strange. Then she seemed to go crazy. She threw the phone to the ground, turned around and reached out to knock all the cosmetics on the dressing table down. This process lasted for ten seconds.
Of course, this was not enough to make Wang Zheng's expression look solemn. What really made him feel something was wrong was that after the deceased knocked over all the cosmetics, he suddenly turned around and smiled at the camera!
"Do you think this is a prank?" Gao Feng pressed the play button again and said, "This video was taken the night before the victim died."
“No.” Huamei didn’t know what was going on, but she was also standing next to the video and said, “From the reaction of the deceased after she received the call, it seems that she was resisting. She needed to vent so she smashed the phone crazily. But the last look in her eyes seemed to be trusting.”
"Trust?" Wang Zheng muttered, and then asked, "Can the camera be able to capture the door?"
Gao Feng shook his head and explained, "The camera lens is one of the common cameras on the market. The shooting range is very limited. Moreover, the location where it is installed is quite sophisticated. It can see the inside of the room and prevents being discovered when standing at the door to take out the memory card."
"What are you thinking about?" Huamei asked Wang Zheng, who seemed to be thinking about something.
"I'm wondering if we have overlooked something." Wang Zheng sorted out his thoughts and said, "The deceased's life trajectory before was relatively blank, and his circle of friends was limited to school. Is there some friend in society that we don't know about?"
"That's unlikely." Gao Feng shook his head. He had been studying the files of the deceased, and no matter how he looked at it, the other party didn't seem like someone who would make bad friends.
"That's the problem." Wang Zheng smiled and said, "We only define friends as good or bad, so the criteria for reviewing files have always been limited to whether anyone in the circle of friends has committed a crime. But we often overlook the fact that good people can also have bad personalities."
"What do you mean?" Gao Feng looked obviously unhappy.
Wang Zheng waved his hand and smiled, "What I mean is that the person may have a clean life record, but he has some small stains that have not been discovered by others, or hobbies, but these hobbies are difficult to be accepted by others, but it just so happens that the deceased also has the same hobby."
"Hobbies? The deceased was proficient in musical instruments and had a tenth-grade piano!" Gao Feng seemed to suddenly remember something, but after a while he shook his head and muttered, "That's not right. These things should have been forced by parents. How can they be considered hobbies?"
"I give in." Wang Zheng raised his hands, looked at Gao Feng as if surrendering, and said speechlessly: "You are really stupid. Have you forgotten? There were traces of tattoo removal on the deceased's body. Don't you think this is a bit strange?"
"What's so strange about tattoos?" Gao Feng rolled his eyes at Wang Zheng, then immediately put his legs on the table, unzipped his trouser legs and said, "Look, I have a tattoo too."
Wang Zheng looked at Gao Feng's calf speechlessly, then burst out laughing. After seeing the tattoo pattern clearly, Huamei, who was standing next to him, couldn't help laughing.
No one would have thought that Gao Feng, who is tall and strong, would have a tattoo of a pink petal on his calf.
"What are you laughing at?" Gao Feng pulled down his trouser legs and said with an unhappy look on his face, "This is a token of our love when we were young. What's so funny about it?"
"It's okay." Wang Zheng suppressed his smile and said, "Here's the problem. Considering the deceased's family education and status, why do you think she would let a tattoo artist tattoo her lower abdomen?"
"Is it a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship?" Gao Feng replied.
"Maybe not?" Huamei imitated Wang Zheng's usual movements, rubbing her smooth chin with her thumb, and said, "It could be her lover, or the tattoo artist could be a woman."
"No need to guess, the tattoo artist is a woman, and also her lover." Gu Xia, who pushed the door open, just heard Huamei's last words and spoke straight to the point.
"Ah? Professor Gu, what do you know about us?" Gao Feng asked in surprise.
"Nonsense, I may be old but I'm still not confused." Gu Xia felt angry and amused. Seeing Bai Ling who came in later than him, he said, "Bai Ling, you discovered this first, tell me."
"Okay, Professor Gu." Bai Ling nodded to Gu Xia, then turned to look at the three people beside her and said, "It's like this, I originally wanted to look for clues on the body of the deceased, but after checking it, I didn't find anything obvious, so I changed my mind and started to check the only skin tissue of the deceased, and happened to remember the scar that Brother Wang Zheng once mentioned."
"Hmm?" Wang Zheng was silent for a while, then suddenly asked excitedly, "You restored the scar?"
"No, the scars have destroyed my skin, and there is no way to restore it with existing means, so I found Professor Gu Xia, and he taught me to use a stupid method..." Having said that, Bai Ling looked at Gu Xia for help, obviously not wanting to continue.
"Let me tell you what happened next." Gu Xia took over the conversation with a smile, "Since the technology can't restore it, then we can only visit. I first took Bai Ling to the Industrial and Commercial Bureau to check all the tattoo shops with records, and then searched the Internet. After eliminating the overlapping lists, I found a photo of the deceased in a private tattoo shop."
As she spoke, Bai Ling on the side quickly opened the file bag in her hand, took out three photos and handed them to the three people in turn.
The content in the photo is simpler than expected. It looks like just a simple civilian house. Besides the smoke-yellow walls next to the closed curtains, there is also a wisp of smoke blown out by someone smoking. The deceased is standing next to the tattoo bed in the center, pulling down half of his underwear with his right hand, pointing at the tattoo covered with plastic wrap and smiling happily.
"Did the deceased get the tattoo in the room in the photo?" Wang Zheng frowned as he looked at the photo. This girl was more rebellious than he had imagined.
"Well, this small shop has good business online." Gu Xia was silent for a while, shook his head and continued: " But things are more difficult than we thought. Although we have successfully mastered the tattoo and also got some unknown things about the girl, the tattoo artist is not the murderer."
"What!" Gao Feng was stunned and said quickly, "Impossible! If the investigation is correct, the tattoo artist must have turned hatred from love, and then secretly followed the deceased and tricked him to a certain place, then skinned him and killed him, right?"
"That's what I thought." Gu Xia sighed and said helplessly, "That tattoo artist couldn't have committed the crime because...she was diagnosed with lung cancer six months ago and has been undergoing chemotherapy for a month."
Gao Feng couldn't help but shudder when he heard this, and even Wang Zheng and Hua Mei beside him frowned.
Everyone originally thought that if they followed the clues, they would find that the most suspect was already in the hospital, so there would be no point in pursuing this clue any further.
