Chapter 55 Meeting

Bruce walked hurriedly.

Jack unexpectedly did not pester him, and they separated after getting out of the elevator, and waved to him before leaving.

Bruce silently looked away, trying to completely put the scene in the elevator behind him.

That's normal, he said to himself, there is nothing to be embarrassed about.

Then he went down to the garage, started the engine, and stepped on the accelerator.

Today is a rare sunny day, there are fewer cars on the road, and the road conditions are very good, so he successfully arrived at the company within the agreed time.

Pushing open the door of the conference room, the directors present looked at him one after another -

Lucius knocked on the table lightly, announcing the adjournment of the meeting.

"It's

coffee time, we can take a ten-minute break." Bruce pulled out a chair and sat down calmly, adjusting his tie calmly .

"You're half an hour late, missing quite a bit of the project we were discussing," Lucius said quietly, approaching him. "The next thing we need to discuss is budget management."

"Just give me the documents I need to sign," Bruce said, glancing quickly at the contents on the screen. "You can make the rest."

"I think this is an overstepping of authority—"

"Businesses strive for efficiency," Bruce interrupted, smiling. "We're all working for the best interests of Wayne Enterprises."

Lucius sighed, not commenting on his attempt to shirk responsibility.

He flipped through the folder in his hand, pulling out several spreadsheets and placing them on the table.

"We've just finished discussing the risk assessment, functional planning, and Gantt chart for this new energy technology. I think you'll need to review them."

He thought for a moment, then changed his tone.

"Your signature is needed, Mr. Wayne."

Bruce nodded happily.

"Okay... okay, I guess that's why I'm here, to sign off on every document—that's where I can come in."

"To be more precise, the parts you agree to," Lucius replied.

Bruce smiled, raised his hand and patted his shoulder gently, and said:

"You need to adapt to this authorization model, Lucius. I believe in your ability."

Bruce paused, as if he suddenly remembered something, and said.

"Actually, compared to the new energy technologies we're discussing today, I'm more concerned about the memory recall system that I asked you to restart and develop."

The sudden change of topic made Lucius stunned for a moment. He pondered for a moment, then asked,

"Are you referring to the Neuron-7 neural recall modeling system?"

"Yes," Bruce nodded. "I remember you reported to me two weeks ago on the specific progress of this project. You said at the time that the core technology had made certain breakthroughs. I'd like to know when it can be applied."

"That may take some time," Lucius shook his head and tapped the table with his fingers. "The most core part of the technology is still under development - and as of now, the Neuron-7 system recalls memories by deconstructing the human brain, which is very likely to cause disorder to the human nervous system. The risk is very high."

He paused and added,

"We dare not move forward rashly. We can't conduct actual testing for the time being. We are still in a simulation environment."

Bruce looked a little disappointed. He asked,

"How long will it take before we can actually test it?"

"I can't give you an accurate answer, but I will keep track of the actual progress and tell you as soon as there is a breakthrough."

Bruce nodded and whispered, "Okay."

"I noticed that you are not planning to put it on the market," Lucius said meaningfully, "Maybe... sometimes... the solution to certain problems does not require such a big risk?"

Bruce was silent for a while.

He did not reply immediately, as if he was thinking about the feasibility of what the other party said.

Finally, he turned his head and smiled:

"I think coffee time is almost over," he said to everyone, "it's time to continue discussing this new energy technology project."

The meeting continued.
