Chapter 5: Burning away all worries Qi Beichen04
"Forget it." I crumpled up the newspaper and threw it into the trash can. "Let them be."
"Qi Beichen." She bent down to pick up the newspaper and spread it out on the table. "Since you care about them, why don't you talk to them nicely? This will be very hard for you."
"What do you know?" I glared at her.
I realized that my tone was a little too harsh, so I stopped talking.
In the face of my flickering eyes, she didn't get angry, but smiled coldly and said to me: "You have a bad temper."
I gritted my teeth and said, "Qi Huatian is not my biological father, there is nothing to say between him and me; Qi Xiaofeng is not my biological brother, he only thinks about how to snatch things from me; my mother is busy hooking up with those men outside and doesn't care about me at all. Why should I care about such a so-called family?"
"It's because I care that I care," she said.
"Don't give me that," I said.
She looked at me and said, "You are so willful. Well, wait and see your father and mother separate."
"Xiang Qianlan!"
She handed me my phone and said, "At least he didn't abandon you, right? There was a man who divorced my mom after her legs became paralyzed, and then abandoned me and my mom and left. I didn't even have a chance to regret it."
It turns out the truth is so cruel.
I froze and didn't move. I didn't dare look up at her. My eyes were sore and I was afraid that tears would roll down uncontrollably.
She didn't say anything either. I don't know how long later, I heard footsteps leaving. I looked up in panic, and she had closed the door.
I remembered the question she asked me. To me, love is a necessity of life, but to her, love is probably a luxury that is difficult to possess.
There were three other people in the box. They heard us arguing and looked at me with inquiring eyes . I stood beside the bed, and the cold light above my head made me dizzy.
"What are you looking at? Haven't you seen this joke?" I rolled my eyes at them.
I walked to the corridor and called my mother, but the phone was turned off. My mother has two mobile phones, and I don't know the number of the other one. I looked outside a little disappointed, took a deep breath, and walked back into the box. When I was young, my mother told me every day that she would let me live a good life. As if to prove her words, or perhaps to make her own life better, she married Qi Huatian.
At that time, they would always quarrel over money. Qi Huatian felt that my mother was a woman with a business mind. If she helped Qi Huatian make money, Qi Huatian would buy her a diamond ring and roses. But if my mother asked him to pay for it, Qi Huatian would curse at her with foul language that was unbearable to hear.
My mother often said that Qi Huatian was a nouveau riche who knew how to make money but not how to spend it, and he deserved to be a failure in his life.
Later, my mother saved some money without telling Qi Huatian. I know that my mother invested in other companies outside. As for the means, maybe she was dealing with those men and seducing them with her sex appeal.
Qi Huatian is not a fool. In recent years, their relationship has become distant and they have ignored each other. Qi Huatian must have been on guard against my mother. If my mother was around, Qi Huatian would not have been in trouble. Maybe he sent Qi Xiaofeng abroad to protect him?
After my mother married Qi Huatian, Qi Huatian was quite nice to me at first. But later, perhaps he noticed that I didn't like him anymore, so he turned all his love and care to Qi Xiaofeng.
There are many more things about Qi Huatian, but they have nothing to do with me anymore.
Actually, there is no difference between me and my mother. I am like a parasite. I live in a comfortable environment and change to another one when the environment becomes bad.
A half-smiley voice came from the upper bunk: "Mom , don't worry, I brought everything you prepared for me..."
I put the earphones in my ears, and the music with strong rhythm penetrated my thoughts lonely and blocked out the beautiful family whispers.
I fell asleep immediately, and when I woke up, I found that the train had just arrived at the station. I got off with the other passengers, and Xiang Qianlan was already standing outside waiting for me.
There were many students holding signs outside the train station, welcoming new students. We walked out and saw many students dragging suitcases walking towards a row of cars. Someone shouted, "A University students! A University students, come here!"
Two people saw Xiang Qianlan and me and turned around and ran towards us.
The boy went to get Xiang Qianlan's suitcase, and the girl wanted to help me carry my luggage, but I declined and picked up Xiang Qianlan's suitcase: "We don't need help."
"Junior, are you a freshman at A University? You are so beautiful. We haven't seen a beauty like you in A University for nearly three years." The boy ignored me and spoke excitedly to Qian Lan, "What is your major? I'll take you to register."
"She's my girlfriend."
The boy was about to get close to her, so I pulled Xiang Qianlan towards me and warned him.
"Girlfriend? Junior, there are many 'high-quality' handsome guys in our school. Why don't you consider it again? How can you justify yourself if you don't have a few relationships when you are young? Don't you think so?" said the boy.
Xiang Qianlan glanced at me, started talking to the girl next to her, and asked her about the registration procedure. The two of them simply ignored the boy's presence.
I laughed to myself.
We took a bus all the way to University A. Countless students, accompanied by their families, flocked to the registration office, their young faces filled with longing for college life.
The appearance of Xiang Qianlan and I attracted a lot of attention, and people immediately surrounded us and asked us questions.
Xiang Qianlan and I both don’t like dealing with strangers. Before, one boy was easy to deal with, but now five or six boys are surrounding her, asking her to help her carry her things and arrange her dormitory.
I was squeezed out by those people, and the luggage of Xiang Qianlan in my hand was also snatched away by the boy at the train station. A girl wearing a big red flower skirt and high heels talked to me enthusiastically , praising me for being handsome.
This doesn't seem like a freshman registration, but more like a large-scale blind date scene.
"Brother, don't be unhappy, smile."
"Handsome boy, University A is very beautiful. I'll show you around."
"Chen Xuan, I found him first, don't snatch it from me."
Two more girls came to talk to me, and the three of them were as noisy as a few ducks. I looked at Qian Lan, and she had been surrounded by the crowd and was being carried to the gymnasium.
While these girls were arguing, I managed to get away, reported in by myself, and went to the dormitory.
I majored in architecture, not because I liked this major so much, but because I had searched for information about University A on the Internet in advance and knew that this college was relatively quiet and far away from other colleges.
The dormitory was on the fifth floor. When I arrived, there was a dark-skinned boy holding a cool mat and washing it under the faucet. When he saw me, he smiled and said hello: "Hello, brother. I'm your roommate. My name is Shi Chonghou."
His accent was very thick. I nodded and said, "Qi Beichen."
I walked to my bunk, put down my bag, and looked at the dusty bed, feeling a little at a loss as to where to start.
Shi Chonghou saw that I looked worried, so he hung his mat out on the balcony to dry in the sun and said, "What's wrong with you? Have you never worked before? Let me help you wash it."
"No, I'll wash it myself." I rolled up my sleeves, picked up the daily necessities I received from the dormitory manager, took a towel, and went to the balcony to get water.
The bell rang outside, and the clamor of the crowd came into my ears. I looked downstairs, and the dark crowd of people looked like a dark cloud, walking towards the cafeteria, some were talking, some were playing, and the colorful dresses in the bright sunlight dazzled my eyes.
The time spent in college is inlaid on the brocade of our best years.
Our college life has finally arrived.
