Chapter 48 Lu Xiaofeng's Master
"Didn't they say there were only six of us including me?"
I stared blankly at the tall gatehouse in front of me and the buildings behind it. Not to mention six people, even dozens or hundreds of people can stay here!
"Yes, I just told you, Grand Master, Grand Uncle Master, Master, Uncle Master Song, you and I, there are six of us in total."
Lu Xiaofeng mentioned those people again. She didn't seem to be joking, and it seemed like she didn't know how to joke.
"Why do you think there are only these few people in such a big place?"
The girl asked. I nodded quickly.
"Master said that the Yushen Sect has been passed down for thousands of years , from ancient times to the present. A long time ago, there were indeed many people in the Yushen Sect, but as time went by and the times changed, fewer and fewer people believed in ghosts and gods, and fewer and fewer people practiced spiritual power and magic. Today, the Yushen Sect has become what it is now."
"Thousands of years? Does that mean thousands of years?"
I have little education, please don't lie to me. This year is 2011, thousands of years ago, what time was that? How can an organization be passed down for so long?
"I don't know exactly how many years it has been, but it must be thousands of years. And there are many sects and big families in the world that have been passed down for hundreds or thousands of years, but you just don't know about it."
I couldn't help but be amazed. If it has really been passed down for thousands of years, doesn't that mean it has existed since the ancient times?
When I walked to the gatehouse, I found that it was much bigger than it looked from a distance. Through the gatehouse was a long stone staircase that extended all the way up to the building. The top of the mountain was very large and had many buildings, but it was very deserted. No human voices could be heard, not even the sounds of birds and animals, only the whirring sound of the wind from time to time.
"Damn, it must be so lonely for the five of you to live in such a big place. It's scary just thinking about it."
I muttered something in a low voice, and Lu Xiaofeng glanced at me and took the lead to walk to the top of the stone stairs. There was a circle of high walls outside these buildings, and there was a high door at the top of the stone stairs. The two green doors were several meters high, and most people probably couldn't even push one of the doors.
I originally wanted to run up and give it a push to try, but was stopped by Lu Xiaofeng.
"This door is sealed with magic. It cannot be opened by brute force."
As she spoke, she walked forward, quickly made a seal with her hands, then spread her hands apart, placed her palms on the two doors, and whispered a spell. I looked at her seal carefully, and although I remembered it, I couldn't hear her spell clearly, this stingy guy.
After the spell was cast, the two doors slowly moved inwards and opened by themselves. The interior of the high wall was revealed, and what came into view was an empty cement floor, which was circular in shape. Starting from the gate, there was a series of houses, most of which were the same in appearance, but there were also some that were quite peculiar.
"boom!"
There was a sudden roar behind me, and I quickly turned around to see that the door was closed again . When I looked back again, Lu Xiaofeng had already walked far away, so I quickly ran to catch up with him.
"I have already informed Master in advance. I need to go see Master first. You should come with me. Then I will take you to see the head master. Master Song is away all year round and only comes back a few times a year. Master's great uncle is also not seen a few times a year. Starting two years ago, I also started to go out on missions. In fact, there are only Master and Great Master in the entire Yushen Sect."
Damn, there are only two people in such a big place, how boring and lonely it would be? I glanced at the buildings within my field of vision, and couldn't help but think about what it would be like if I were alone in such a place. The more I thought about it, the more anxious I became.
I followed Lu Xiaofeng around these buildings twice, and then walked along a relatively obvious main road. After walking for a while, the girl finally stopped in front of a courtyard. There were four words engraved on the gate of the courtyard:
Lotus Courtyard.
The name is quite elegant. The door of the courtyard is a round hole. The first thing you see after entering is a pond with a lotus leaf floating on the water and some snow-white lotus flowers. It really is a lotus courtyard. But it seems that there will be no lotus in this season?
"This is the White Dream Lotus, which blooms in early spring, heralding the time when dreams will be awakened."
Lu Xiaofeng seemed to have guessed my doubts and pointed at the lotus in the pond .
They are so weird and mysterious. In the past, I would have thought they were all charlatans.
A long stone arch bridge spans the pond, connecting the courtyard gate to a row of houses on the opposite side. There is a pavilion by the pond on the other side, and a small path with railings connects the pavilion to the house on the outermost edge. Only Master Lu Xiaofeng lives here, but there are more than ten rooms.
I followed Lu Xiaofeng across the stone arch bridge, and suddenly I saw someone in the pavilion from the corner of my eye. I turned around and was surprised to see someone there. A young woman in a white dress was standing quietly in the pavilion, looking at the lotus in the pond.
When I was walking on the stone arch bridge, I passed by the pavilion more than once, but I didn't see anyone there. The woman in white seemed to appear out of nowhere. Could she be Lu Xiaofeng's master? Damn, she appears and disappears like a ghost Could it be that she has become ill from living in such a place for so many years?
"Lu Xiaofeng, is that your master?"
I leaned over to Lu Xiaofeng and asked in a low voice. She turned her head to look at me, seemed stunned for a moment, and asked back: "Can you see it?"
I was also stunned and said, "Aren't you talking nonsense? He's a living person, and I'm not blind!"
The girl was slightly startled, but then she smiled and said, "Then you'd better not look around, otherwise you might really go blind."
My heart tightened, I didn't understand what she meant. But then I remembered some plots I saw on TV, many beautiful but weird women often said something cruel: If you dare to look at me for one more time, I will dig out your dog eyes!
I secretly glanced at the woman in white in the pavilion. She was facing us sideways, and her face could not be seen from this direction. Damn, this girl's master couldn't be the kind of perverted woman who would dig out people's eyes at any time, right?
"I have already told my master that my uncle has accepted you as his apprentice, but you'd better be honest. My master has a bad temper."
Lu Xiaofeng spoke in a low voice, as if he was afraid of being heard by the woman in white in the distance.
It would be strange if a person living here had a good temper. When I think of the kind of woman who likes to dig out people's eyes, I can't help but feel creepy.
I made up my mind not to look around or talk nonsense.
