Chapter 406 First Meeting
This is the beginning of the story.
This is a story about me and a human boy.
I was cleaning my stash when the trouble started.
Specifically, I kill the wandering fun crawlers that crawl out of various quantum protocols. They are the hateful pests that destroy my collection. This is the uncontrolled white noise left over from the collapse era, which pops up from time to time to infect my treasures.
For example, the collection in front of me - an Izel alien, a devouring creature from an extragalactic galaxy, a node, is curled up intact in my experimental bottle.
This alien has destroyed at least four hundred civilized planets in the past one hundred stellar years.
Considering the special nature of the Izel Alien in the evolutionary sequence, I was planning to give this Izel Alien a prominent central display position - next to the Barle Crystal Dust Dragon (extinct) active in the Sand Age, it will have very shiny electronic particle bubbles as a foil. But this Izel Alien was obviously not satisfied with my arrangement. After it destroyed five of my collections in a row, I cut it into pieces with a knife and then pieced it together again.
This Izel Alien finally remembered that it still had the option of screaming for mercy. Since I had already destroyed three Izel Alien nodes, this was the only one left . In order to avoid accidentally damaging it (after all, it is very troublesome to capture a complete Izel Alien node), I simply freeze-dried it.
The frozen Izel alien in the bottle looks much more obedient. At least it won't go crazy and parasitize or destroy my other collections anymore.
But cleaning is not pleasant.
Because the crawling bugs that crawl around everywhere are really troublesome.
Crawlers are damned probabilistic creatures. In the ordinary sense, they don't exist. Their origin can be attributed to some scientists' unreliable scientific experiments, blindly increasing the probability without any follow-up procedures, causing these probabilistic crawlers to grow everywhere like mold. They will corrode my collections, chewing them up and rotting them completely.
The most troublesome thing is that once these creepers sense danger, they will hide in the dimensional space through quantum protocols and run away without a trace. Their appearance is also based on probability. I had to adjust the intelligent clay technicians to full-time monitoring, hoping that they can clean up all the creepers.
After setting up the cleaning tasks, I noticed a strange signal on the monitor.
The monitor showed that an error singularity had appeared on a world line on a planet on the edge of the galaxy, which seemed to be related to the scattered fragments of the Unfull Cup. My first reaction was that the black box was probably doing something again.
At this time, my other partition incarnation was busy clearing out the Black Box Society. Most of the time, searching for the Black Box Society was like catching a non-existent shadow. These lunatics were more erratic than crawling insects. Compared to the troublesome probabilistic creatures, they were the most difficult germs to eliminate.
But I don't want to listen to the partition's complaints about black box meetings. In my opinion, predicting what invisible shadows are planning is a waste of time.
I pulled up a control panel and was somewhat concerned about the singularity error message.
A link gateway appeared in the void, with dense nodes flashing inside it. These nodes were intertwined, connected, and spiraled. They were connected to physical virtual high-speed channels like galaxies, and could achieve cross-dimensional jumps in an instant.
In my vision, there were complicated mathematical models. The mistake I made earlier triggered all kinds of strange gravitational forces and electron flows. Even in a short period of time, I couldn't fully decipher the reasons. My vision was filled with all kinds of abstract color languages that kept flashing. It would take at least three thousand time units to run the calculations completely. When I was about to stop, suddenly a force like an iron clamp tightly bound me.
A powerful light suddenly pierced my vision.
It was a sudden explosion.
There was no time to take any countermeasures, and I was sucked into the highway in an instant.
…
…
When I got my thoughts back in order, I discovered two things.
First, I was seriously injured.
Second, I was bounced by the other side link gateway to a corner of a marginal planet. Well, it was a remote place on the star map I just monitored.
Specifically, the unexpected explosion turned my thought sequence into a few rags, and my ability was greatly reduced. The sudden high-speed ejection in space made me even more fragmented, which must be related to the series of errors just now. I can correct myself, but it will take some time.
After briefly sorting out the current situation, I put myself into a meditative state. I opened my mind channel and clarified my current coordinates, which was an independent civilization area planet called "Lola" by the Galactic Federation, a ground-level civilization group.
It is not yet certain what connection this planet has with the scattered fragments of the Unfilled Cup.
At the current rate of repair, it will take about seven rotations of the planet to fully recover.
The place I am in now is a claustrophobic space without any local life. It seems to be a civilian water tower. As long as there are no creatures to disturb...
…
…
Warnings of danger surged through my train of thought.
I suddenly came back to my senses from my meditation.
In the claustrophobic space where there was originally no living creature, a local Homo sapiens appeared.
His appearance is that of a Homo sapiens adolescent, and his eyes glow in the darkness.
The most damning thing is that he was holding my experimental knife in his hand. I would like to point out that this knife can break the physical virtual protocol and is an extremely sharp weapon for dealing with and cutting certain high-dimensional beings.
This thief!
Wait, I suddenly realized that when I was ejected at high speed, my knife was also transported here, and it just fell to the ground. Then it was picked up by this Homo sapiens boy who somehow ran into this dark and claustrophobic space.
But he is still a thief who steals from his master.
I wanted to tell him that this weapon had an owner, but I was in a self-repair state and had no way to organize the transmission of information and data. Obviously, this Homo sapiens boy from a lower civilization could not observe me with his naked eyes.
He played with the knife in his hand for a while, muttering to himself: "There really are no ghosts in the water tower, they are just talking nonsense." Then, in order to give himself courage, he suddenly waved the knife in his hand and gestured at the air.
There may not be any ghosts here, but there is me! You little bastard!
So the tragedy happened.
I was unable to move after entering into self-repair, and the knife was highly destructive. I could hear my thought sequence collapsing and my sensor data exploding in pain.
Soon, I, who was already seriously injured, was completely broken into pieces again by this stupid Homo sapiens boy.
To borrow the local language, I am now like a piece of meat on the chopping board.
I was in a dying state.
At the end of my blurry consciousness, I focused on the boy's face. I memorized his appearance and genes.
I'm going to kill you, you little bastard!!
…
…
In short, my already seriously injured condition was compounded by my injuries, and I almost ended up being accidentally killed by a local Aboriginal boy in an ignominious way.
If my regional incarnation knew about this, he would definitely record it as a warning case and a joke and spread it to everyone.
After that, I barely organized the rest of my body and started to repair myself in a state of near chaos. Then I made another discovery that could be called a fatal blow: when this brat cut me with a knife, some of my thought fragments were absorbed into his consciousness after being decomposed.
That is to say, there is such a fact now - I, as a top-level high-dimensional creature, was not only shamefully killed by a native kid who had not yet entered the interstellar civilization, but also had some of my thought fragments taken away by him.
I'm going to kill you, you little bastard!!
…
…
After several planetary rotations.
I managed to repair myself to a certain extent and regained a little mobility. Although my ability is still greatly reduced, I can still go and settle the score with him.
I left the water tower and quickly found his hiding place.
The Homo sapiens boy was named Yan Zhen, and he was playing video games in his residence at the time.
Considering that he couldn't see me at all, I could only sneak into his mind and shout with a roar that was enough to shake his soul:
[You shameless thief——————! ]
To put it more concretely, this sound was no less than eight hundred loudspeakers playing at the highest decibel in his brain at the same time. I believe this caused him great shock.
Sure enough, the boy froze.
He carefully took off his headphones and said to himself, "Tinnitus?"
【Shameless thief!!】
Bang! He jumped up and looked around in panic, "Who?"
Seeing how frightened he was, I felt satisfied.
"Who's talking?"
[Do you feel scared now? ]
The boy looked around again, and after a long moment, he said slowly, "Are you in my head?"
[That’s right.]
"Are you a ghost? A monster?" the boy asked.
I quickly searched the meaning of the boy's words and found that he was just using a low-level superstitious idea to speculate my identity, so I told him that I was not a ghost, nor a monster, and that he must pay the price for his actions.
"What are you talking about?"
So I issued a notice to him, ordering him to return to me immediately the fragment of thought he had taken from me.
"I don't understand what you're talking about." The boy said, and he clasped his hands together as if he had suddenly realized something. "I understand now. I've been playing games for too long and have strange auditory hallucinations."
I had to use high-frequency roaring again to make him face reality.
After negotiating with him several times, I found that this underage was unable to understand my request due to his limited intelligence.
Homo sapiens' way of thinking is flat and crude, and he simply cannot understand my existence, let alone my requirements. So in my impatience, I did something stupid.
I admit, in hindsight it did seem a bit silly.
At that time, my thought sequence was not repaired, and my judgment and intelligence declined significantly, which also led to a very unfriendly relationship between me and this Homo sapiens boy at the beginning.
I told him I was going to kill him.
I repeated it three times.
The result was that the boy was enraged and he began to believe that I was some kind of evil creature who had entered his brain in order to possess him.
So our first round of negotiations got bogged down.
"Get out of my head!! You monster!!"
[Give me back my fragments of thoughts, or I will kill you! ! ]
"Bullshit! Get out of my head!!"
[Give me back my fragments of thoughts, or I will kill you! ! ]
My communication with him turned into a repetitive shouting match that was more stupid than an amoeba. I admit that my intelligence has been greatly reduced due to severe damage, but it is obvious that the stinky kid who was shouting at me was more stupid than an amoeba.
After repeating this several times, the boy suddenly discovered a fact.
"You said you were going to kill me, but you haven't done it yet."
【……】
"Could it be..." the boy said sharply, "You actually don't have the ability to kill me."
This is indeed a problem.
Now I am just a fragmented existence, my intelligence has declined and my abilities have been lost, and I only have a little mobility left. In other words, now apart from transmitting my consciousness in his brain, I can't cause any substantial harm to him.
I checked the time required to complete the self-repair. Very good, after this indigenous Homo sapiens caused me great harm, it will take 159 local planet revolutions to complete the self-repair.
The average lifespan of local humans is about 80 revolutions of the local planet.
I couldn't help but get furious and asked, "Why are you so short-lived?!"
"You are the one who will die young! Your whole family will die young!!" the boy retorted.
So the stupid repetition began again. After repeating it three times, the boy named Yan Zhen confirmed one thing, that is, I did not seem to cause any physical harm to him except for making all kinds of noises in his brain.
He started ignoring me.
He sat down and opened his tablet to search for "What to do if you have auditory hallucinations in your head."
The most likely answer given online is: schizophrenia.
He stared at the word schizophrenia for a long time and said to himself, "That shouldn't be the case."
【Give me back my fragments of thought! 】
"I don't want to go to a mental hospital." He continued to ignore my whispers. The boy walked around the room and continued to talk to himself: "I should be lack of sleep. Yes, maybe I am hallucinating from playing games. I will be fine after a good night's sleep tonight."
Next, he continued to treat me as nothing and acted as normal in front of his family.
After lying in bed that night, I didn't say anything for a while. He said to himself with satisfaction: "It turns out that it will be fine after a rest."
I certainly won't let him have his way.
Although I was unable to cause any substantial harm to him, I was able to detect from his subconscious the person he feared the most - his math teacher, Mr. Li.
So that night in his dream, a thousand Teacher Li appeared and yelled at him in turn: Give me back the fragments of my thinking!
The next day, the boy, Yan Zhen, opened his eyes and showed a tough attitude, which was to ignore me to the end.
Later I learned that this Homo sapiens boy Yan Zhen had a much more stubborn character than the average human being, and it was impossible to force him to do anything. But I was not good enough at analyzing the logical behavior of humans, which led to my deep regret later.
…
…
The stupid war between us continues.
While he was in class, I played the magic music on repeat to force him to submit.
While he was eating, I played the magic music on repeat to force him to submit.
When he went to the toilet, I played the magic music on repeat to force him to submit.
When he was chatting with his classmates, I played the magic music on repeat to force him to submit.
After torturing him for two days, the hateful little devil showed no sign of giving in.
His will was far beyond my imagination. No matter how intensely I sent information into his brain, he regarded it as meaningless white noise.
The group of indigenous wise men around him didn't notice anything unusual about him.
Only his good friend, a Homo sapiens boy named Liu Xingquan, noticed his unusualness.
"Yan Zhen, are you feeling unwell?" Liu Xingquan asked him.
"..." Yan Zhen looked up and said, "Nothing."
"Oh." Liu Xingquan glanced at him, and he raised his hand and pointed out the window, "Look."
There was a small green bird perched on a branch outside the window, tilting its head and looking towards the classroom.
"Look, this bird has been perched here for the whole morning." Liu Xingquan said, "Do you know what kind of bird this is?"
"The green bird." Yan Zhen replied.
"Nonsense." Liu Xingquan said, and he whistled at the bird outside the window. The bird jumped to another branch.
"Liu Xingquan."
"Um?"
"If one day you find out that your friend is delusional and schizophrenic, what will you do?"
"Well? Of course we should send him to the hospital." Liu Xingquan said, "Mr. Yan, have you finally realized that you are sick?" He coughed seriously, "Hello, how long has this situation lasted?"
Yan Zhen glared at him and said nothing.
I continued to play the magic sound at a high frequency in his head to force him to submit.
The mental feedback he gave me was as if he were a dead person.
…
…
Yan Zhen’s mental world is a very interesting place.
In his spiritual world, the world is a flying space fortress, and inside the space fortress is a grand theater. The stage is filled with all kinds of imaginary elements, including colorful and meaningless abstract objects, as well as Sun Wukong, Ultraman, Batman, Superman and other popular entertainment virtual characters from various local planets. These elements come together to form various dream stories.
The scene now is a virtual scene presented by me using his shallow consciousness, but it is limited to this. Due to the serious damage to the thought sequence and the loss of ability, I can no longer conduct a deep analysis of his consciousness. Under the layers of the boy's inner shell of consciousness, there is a fragment that I lost. I can feel the subtle vibration of the fragment, but I can't recover it.
This is thanks to the secret contained in this fragment of thought. Once it is separated from the main body of the thought sequence, it will automatically generate a protective shell to hide itself. Retrieving the fragment requires the active cooperation of this boy, but now, this brat has ignored me as if I were air.
I sat in his dream theater, watching his fantasies for a while, and suddenly it occurred to me that maybe I could try a different approach.
I said: [Hero who saves the world]
Yan Zhen's body became stiff again.
Sure enough, I found something that would make him feel shy.
I projected an image of him from the Dream Theater onto the center of his mind using a large high-definition projection, and added various actions that are called "Chuuni" in the local language.
Yan Zhen lowered his head, his neck trembling slightly, and his feet trying to dig into the floor.
[Hero Yan Zhen who saves the world, is this how you position yourself? I must point out that the outfit you have imagined for yourself is really terrible in terms of practicality and aesthetics. I thought Homo sapiens would be more constructive in customizing the outer skin...]
"Shut the fuck up!" Yan Zhen stood up and roared.
The eyes of the whole class turned to him.
"Yan Zhen!" Teacher Li, who was standing at the podium, said with a livid face, "Come to my office after class!"
When Yan Zhen came out of Teacher Li's office, the theater in his mind began to rain down bold, black, and large-font hailstones like "Get out of here!" "Get out!"
To be honest, the cerebral cortex of this Homo sapiens boy is not much more advanced than that of a trilobite, and this high-frequency mental shock enhanced by anger is just a bit of a pain to me.
I conjured an umbrella for myself and held it up elegantly, then threw it back with a larger-sized message: "Give me back my fragments of thought!", and added: "Otherwise I will project your ridiculous middle school personality into the minds of every student in your class!"
"Vicious! You are not human!!"
【Give me back my fragments of thought! 】
“Get out of here!!”
After a few rounds of this, even a person of low intelligence like me realized that this seemed to be back to the starting point. Enraging this stubborn boy would not help my current situation. At this time, I sensed a small shallow consciousness.
【Go to the sixth floor now. 】
“Get out of here!!”
[Go to the sixth floor now, immediately.] I said, [A Homo sapiens is about to jump from the sixth floor.]
“…”
[Given your Homo sapiens physical strength, if you jump from the sixth floor, you will die instantly.]
I thought Yan Zhen would ignore me again, but after hearing this message, he was just stunned for a moment, then ran upstairs quickly.
When I ran to the sixth floor, a boy in the corridor had already put one leg on the railing. His body was leaning forward, and he was about to turn over and jump down.
In a split second, Yan Zhen pounced forward and he and the boy rolled on the ground.
When the boy calmed down a little, a young woman appeared in the corridor. She obviously knew what had just happened. She ran over in a panic, hugged the boy and burst into tears.
From their conversation, Yan Zhen learned that the boy did not do well in the exam, and the teacher called his parents to the school to give him a lecture. Just now in the office, his mother lost control of her emotions and said a lot of harsh words to him. He really couldn't stand the humiliation, and in a rage he slipped to the sixth floor and prepared to jump down.
His mother was on the first floor when she saw the boy preparing to jump. Before she fainted and fell to the ground, Yan Zhen suddenly appeared and rescued the boy in time. Now his mother ran upstairs and hugged him and cried loudly. The boy's eyes were red and regret appeared on his face.
No matter from which angle you look at it, the boy is terrified, and his mother is also greatly shocked. She will probably adjust her educational methods in the future.
School faculty and staff rushed over after hearing the news.
Yan Zhen left quietly.
After leaving the school, I continued to think about how to torture this brat today.
Yan Zhen suddenly stopped and looked at the roadside trees. A small green bird was perched on a branch and chirping.
He sat down on the bench under the tree. After a moment of silence, the boy suddenly asked, "How did you know he was going to jump off the building?"
This was the first time he took the initiative to talk to me.
I replied: [I can sense the shallow consciousness of the nearby Homo sapiens.]
"So you're not really my fantasy?"
[Of course I am not your spiritual derivative. ]
"What do you mean by returning your fragments of thought?"
I explained it to him, and this guy with a brain like a trilobite obviously didn't understand, but he grasped the key point.
"So, you are an alien from outer space?" His eyes lit up.
【You can understand it this way. 】
"So, you are not here to take my body?"
[As a physical vehicle, your body is too weak. I have no interest in you.]
"Then why did you say you would kill me at the beginning?" Yan Zhen said, "You sound too villainous. I thought you were a bad guy."
Because you killed me.
"ah?"
I recounted in a vicious tone all the bad things he had done.
"..." The expression on the boy's face looked very strange.
I thought he would deny his behavior, but after a long silence he said, "Did I hurt you badly?"
[It was very serious, I almost died.] I didn't lie. Of course, he was able to injure me to the point of dying because I lost my mobility due to the blast and picked up my experimental knife. But it is a fact that he almost killed me.
"..." Yan Zhen lowered his eyes, "I'm sorry."
[……] I didn't reply. The boy's reaction was really a bit unexpected. The word "sorry" is commonly used in the context of asking for forgiveness in intelligent life civilizations. Most of the Homo sapiens creatures I know are suspicious by nature, and I thought we would have a few more rounds of stupid insults. I didn't expect this Homo sapiens boy to honestly apologize to me.
His subconscious mind told me that Yan Zhen apologized sincerely and he was indeed sorry for hurting me by mistake.
【I accept your apology.】 As the victim, I answered confidently.
"So is there anything I can help you with?"
“All you have to do is give me back my fragments of my mind,” I told him.
"..." Yan Zhen was silent for a while, then he asked, "Why?"
Damn it.
I also fell silent. As expected, because of my severe damage, my intelligence has dropped to the point where I have forgotten one thing, that is, as a Homo sapiens of earth-level civilization, his neural structure is simply unable to understand and analyze my thought sequence, let alone release that fragment.
Very good, now we have finally reached a dead end.
"Can't you recycle it in my mind?" Yan Zhen asked.
[Because of the stupid behavior of a local indigenous human, I am now in pieces, with little power left and unable to be recycled. ]
"..." Yan Zhen asked again, "Will you die if you can't recover the fragments?"
[You won't die, but it will be very troublesome.] I told him, [Another way is to wait until I have finished repairing myself and then extract the fragments.]
"Ohhhh, how long do we have to wait?"
According to the Gregorian calendar of this planet, it will take another 159 years. I simply said, "No, you are too short-lived."
"You are the one who has a short life!!!"
This was my first encounter with this human boy. The time we spent together was extremely short but extremely precious.
He is a very childlike and stubborn human being. His dream theater is pure and gorgeous. If I could watch more of his inner dreams, maybe I could understand him better. But at that time, my attention was all on how to recycle the fragments. I underestimated him, so that what happened later was completely beyond my imagination.
Then, green bird of observation, your eyes will witness the next story between me and him. The story is short, but I never want to forget it..
