Chapter 4: Sweet and New Life 3
On the way back, although Hongze was carrying the bag, he was not at all restless. He was very interested in "how one person could make such a big thing run at high speed". I had to sit in the last row and barely keep a distance from the bus driver to prevent him from running up to harass the driver.
After finally returning to the Nie family building, I took out my key and opened the door.
Hongze pushed me aside and rushed to the front: "Is this your home? It's not even one thousandth the size of my water palace. How do you live in a place like this?"
"Yes, I live in such a small place. There is only one bed, so you have to sleep on the sofa." Looking at Hongze who was standing in the living room looking around, I followed behind him and said.
"Sofa? Do you mean this?" Hongze pointed at a single sofa in the small living room, sat on it excitedly and bounced around. Suddenly his eyes lit up and he rushed to the TV, "Is this the TV? Turn it on quickly, I want to watch it!"
"Ah? The remote control is right on the TV, you can turn it on yourself."
Hongze looked back at me, then tentatively stretched out a finger to poke the remote control, then turned back and said angrily: "No!"
Looking at Hongze's puffy cheeks and big, blinking eyes, I felt a little annoyed. He was actually acting cute! I walked over resignedly, picked up the remote control and turned on the TV for him. The image on the screen appeared as I moved.
"It really appeared!" Hongze hid on the sofa and stared at the TV in disbelief. "I know! This is modern information technology!"
"Yes, modern information technology."
Hongze seemed to have not heard what I said. He found something more interesting. His body lightened and he stood in front of the air conditioner. "This one hanging on the wall must be an air conditioner! I also saw one at Zhou Mian's place! The one he has is bigger than this one. I want to move one as big as this one to my water palace."
"Well...how can I compare with Zhou Mian?"
I felt a little helpless and didn't know how to explain this complicated issue to Hongze.
Hongze obviously didn't care about my answer. He quickly found something new while standing in the air. He floated into the kitchen and sat on the refrigerator, just stuck between the roof and the refrigerator: "Why do we need to put an air conditioner in this small place?"
I picked up the bag Hongze had thrown in the hallway and followed him into the kitchen, explaining as I cleaned up the mess: "That's not an air conditioner, it's a refrigerator. It's full of food to keep it fresh."
"Food? Steak?"
When I turned around, I saw Hongze sticking out his tongue and pinching the top of the refrigerator with one hand, using a little force. I was so scared that my soul almost flew out of my body.
"Ah! No! It doesn't open that way!" I threw down the bag in my hand, rushed over, swung open the refrigerator door, looked up at Hongze nervously, "Here, it opens from here."
"Hmph, boring human."
Hongze ignored me, leaned back and walked through the wall.
"Ah... that's..."
Thinking that there is a toilet behind the wall, I couldn't help but hold my forehead. The washing machine, toilet, and bathtub in the toilet, each one can let Hongze play for a while.
Sure enough, I struggled to push open the bathroom door. Hongze was lying comfortably in the bathtub, stretching out his legs and kicking them back and forth, holding the fish tank that was supposed to be on the balcony, chatting with the two koi fish inside.
The washing machine fell to the ground helplessly, with the lid off. The standing fan that was supposed to be on the balcony was placed on the washing machine, and the dust cover was casually draped over the toilet like a rag.
"You're so slow! Hurry up! Release the water!"
Hearing my noise, Hongze stuck his head out, rested his chin on the edge of the bathtub, and freed one hand to greet me.
I looked at the bathroom that looked like a typhoon had passed through it, and with shaking hands, I pointed at the washing machine on the floor and asked him in disbelief, "This, this...how did it offend you? It's only been a minute...how could you do that?"
"It's too small, uncomfortable, I don't like it. This one is comfortable, come on, release it!" Hongze completely ignored my resentment, waved his hand disapprovingly, and continued to command me.
I couldn't believe my ears. My washing machine, my three-kilogram washing machine, was ruthlessly thrown to the ground for this reason!
"What about the electric fan? Why are you messing with it? Can't it just stay on the balcony? Why are you doing this? It's autumn, it's autumn now! Do you know what autumn is?" I was so angry that I was incoherent. I picked up the dust cover on the toilet and put it on the electric fan.
"I made a mistake when I was looking for the little koi just now. Got it, got it, I'll fix it! Please help me drain the water, I'm dying!"
Hongze held the fish tank in one hand and patted the edge of the bathtub with the other hand, kicking his legs wildly, looking like a complete cheat.
The two koi fish in the fish tank circled happily, as if responding to Hongze. If I gave it a name, wouldn't it mean I would have feelings and responsibilities? I couldn't stand Hongze's frivolous look.
"Little Koi, Little Carp... Don't just give people random names! Do you know what a name means?"
"It's just a name. Human, I said I would recover! I'm almost dying of thirst! Let me go!" Hongze picked his ears impatiently and looked at me sideways.
I glared at him for a long time, but he was unmoved and just swung his legs leisurely.
Alas, it seems that if I don't give him some water, he won't care about the mess.
I had no choice but to turn on the faucet, and warm water poured into the bathtub. Hongze was immediately very excited. When the water filled the bathtub, he raised his hand and took out the two koi and soaked them in the bathtub together.
"Ah - finally back in the water... so comfortable!"
As he said this, he waved his hand casually, and the washing machine floated up lightly, turned over and stood upright against the wall. The electric fan also mysteriously penetrated the wall and returned to the balcony.
"Then you stay in the bath, I'll go see Linglong." Saying that, I left the bathroom.
In the living room, Linglong was sleeping in her cat bed. When she saw me, she called out "Meow" sweetly.
A noisy idol drama was playing on TV, and the old air conditioner was making noises out of loneliness. I sat down on the coffee table, turned on my computer and continued translating documents.
“Lulalalalalalal…Lulalalalalalalal…I love taking a bath, the turtle fell down, ooohhh…I love taking a bath, my skin feels so good, ooohhhh…”
The typing sound of keyboards, the talking voices of the actors in the TV series, the roar of the air conditioner, and Linglong's cries all became the harmonious soundtrack to Hongze's singing.
"Where did he learn this song from..." I reached out and held Linglong in my arms, touching Linglong's little paws. Various sounds were intertwined in my ears, and I felt a little dazed.
There has never been such a lively room. At this moment, it feels like home. It feels pretty good. The fish food on the coffee table suddenly floated in the air, and each one was like a pearl chain, rising and falling with Hongze's singing, slowly penetrating the wall.
" Sing ..."
Hongze's singing stopped abruptly, and he shouted at me at the top of his voice: "Hey! What is a shower cap? I want a shower cap too, give me a shower cap! Human! I want a shower cap!"
"The shower cap is on the towel rack, get it yourself! And don't feed the fish too much food, they will die of overeating!"
"The little koi fish said they want to eat, so why not give it to them? Steak, steak, just watching them eat makes me want to eat too! Hurry up and make me some steak! Two servings! I want two servings!"
The floating fish food chain suddenly lost control and fell down in front of me, scattering all over the ground. Linglong was also startled by the sudden change, and cried out in vigilance, with all the hair on her body standing up.
My eyes almost popped out of their sockets. I couldn't believe that the fish food was scattered all over the floor. I rubbed my hair hard. I must be crazy for feeling so good just now! It was obviously terrible!
I was so angry that my voice changed. "Steak? You have the nerve to eat steak? You! You, just eat all the fish food on the ground!"
