Chapter 4: Bad luck! Bad luck! Bad luck! 5
A cool breeze blew by, and Su Han felt a chill on her back. She had been sweating from the exercise, but now she could only feel the cold. She glanced at Xu Zhe beside her, and he probably felt the same way, and shivered all over.
Two veteran "direction-challenged people" got together, and neither of them knew the way. However, in order to find the tree in the backpack containing all their belongings, they racked their brains, went through untold hardships, and walked in circles for a long time.
But what is a person with a poor sense of direction? It is a creature that has no sense of direction and can never find the right way!
After searching for a long time, Su Han and Xu Zhe didn't find the backpack, but they walked to a populated area.
This place is like a small town, with pedestrians walking hurriedly from time to time, and small shops selling various goods on the roadside. And the most important thing is... there are intercity buses here!
With the bus, can't they take it back to the city?
“Xu Zhe!” Su Han’s eyes sparkled, and he tugged at the sleeve of the boy next to him, “We are saved!”
Xu Zhe was also happy for a while, but he suddenly realized a serious problem: "Wait... do you have money?"
"Ah?" Su Han was stunned and quickly searched her pockets. But even if she turned out all her pockets, she couldn't find a single coin.
"I don't have any money either."
Xu Zhe looked at her with a depressed look on his face. He pointed at the bus stop sign and said, "But you see, there are only three buses a day from this small town to our city, and it takes 58 stops. What's more important is that the tickets for this kind of intercity bus are very expensive!"
"But we don't have a penny..."
Another gust of cold wind blew by, and the two looked at each other, and finally sat down dejectedly on the bench at the bus stop, thinking hard about how to make money.
It’s been so long, the sun has already passed overhead. If I can’t get home quickly, am I going to have to sleep on the streets?
Suddenly, Xu Zhe stood up and said excitedly: "Look! There is a fountain in the small park across the street. There must be fish in the pool! Why don't we catch the fish and sell them?"
"Come on, Xu Zhe! Does this count as stealing? Be careful not to get caught!"
"What should we do? Are we really going to beg?"
Su Han stood up and took a few steps forward.
The sun was shining on the lawn of the small park. Several children set up their easels and were sketching on the lawn, accompanied by their parents.
She patted Xu Zhe and said, "Look, there are kids drawing over there!"
Xu Zhe looked at it frustratedly: "Yeah, but what's wrong with painting?"
"Aren't you from the Academy of Fine Arts? You must be good at drawing!" Su Han's eyes sparkled, "We can make money from your paintings!"
With a plan in mind, she ignored his reaction and immediately walked over to the children who were sketching. Then she chatted enthusiastically with the parents and children. After a long while, she returned to Xu Zhe and said happily, "Done! Xu Zhe, you just sit here for two hours and teach the children to draw. Then they will give us money to go home!"
He refused repeatedly in frustration: "No! I am a top student at the National Academy of Fine Arts and the winner of the New Artist Award. How can I lie to children on the street?"
"How can this be called cheating? I'm clearly earning money through my own labor!"
"don't want!"
It was unknown how long Su Han had been persuading Xu Zhe, and he was finally able to persuade . But this guy made a strange request: "When I teach others to draw, you can't watch."
"Okay, okay." Su Han agreed immediately.
For the rest of the time, she sat alone on the bench, bored, watching Xu Zhe teaching the kids to draw from afar.
The sunlight shone on his soft brown hair, reflecting a layer of golden light. His handsome face was focused, and many passers-by could not help but be attracted by his painting skills and lingered around them.
Su Han thought that Xu Zhe must be very good at painting.
It was not until the evening when the children packed up their painting supplies, said goodbye to Xu Zhe and went home that Su Han walked over.
Xu Zhe happily stuffed a hundred-yuan bill into her palm: "Great, not only do we have money to go home, but we can also have a bowl of noodles before we leave! You must have been hungry for a long time, right?"
"No, I didn't..."
Just when Su Han was about to say that he was not hungry, his stomach started to growl.
Xu Zhe smiled slightly, causing her face to feel hot.
Finally, there was one kid left. He slowly put away his painting tools and walked up to Su Han. "So, you are the older sister. Brother Xu Zhe has been painting your portrait. He made you look so beautiful. He even kept several of them for himself!"
Su Han was shocked. She looked at Xu Zhe who was chasing after the child and trying to cover his mouth, and an inexplicable emotion surged in her heart.
In the setting sun, his smile was spontaneous and warm, as if it dispelled all her fatigue of the whole day.
They ate two bowls of steaming noodles in a small noodle shop in the town, and only got on the bus back home when night fell and the blue velvet sky was dotted with shining stars.
"Xu Zhe, please give me a picture of the painting you just drew!" Su Han said curiously.
Xu Zhe hugged the drawing paper in his hand tightly and sat up alertly: "No."
"Isn't the picture of me? Why can't it be given to me?"
He still shook his head: "No means no!"
Su Han snorted in frustration.
She was so tired that she slowly fell asleep with her head resting on the car seat.
The car drove for several hours and finally reached the end of this unfortunate day at 11:30 in the evening.
The two returned home exhausted. They just said hello to the little panda that was meowing around them, and then lay down happily on their beds.
After sleeping for a while, Su Han was awakened by a rustling sound in the living room. She felt a little thirsty, so she got up and went to the living room to drink some water. As soon as she opened the door, she saw Xu Zhe walking out of his room. He was wearing cute little brown bear pajamas, his eyes were half closed, and his hair was messy.
Not only was Xu Zhe's voice a little hoarse, but his face was also abnormally flushed.
"Su Han, I'm thirsty..." He rubbed his eyes.
Su Han reluctantly poured him a glass of water and handed it to him, still reminding him with concern: "Hot water! Be careful of the burns!"
When Xu Zhe took the cup of water, Su Han touched his hand and felt abnormally hot. She took a closer look and found that Xu Zhe's breath was very hot.
Su Han asked worriedly, "Xu Zhe, why are you so hot? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"
Xu Zhe blinked blankly, shook his head, and said as if sleepwalking: "It's not hot, I'm cold..."
"Cold?" Su Han sent Xu Zhe back to his room worriedly, "Do you feel cold? Go back to bed first."
“Cold, so cold!”
Su Han touched his forehead and retracted his hand because of the heat.
Oh my God, Xu Zhe has a fever!
