Chapter 395 Gap
Watching ASML's live broadcast, apart from some people who just wanted to watch the show, most people were concerned about what level of performance the chips .
Graphics card, CPU, games, etc.
But this scene still caused a heavier feeling in China.
To some extent, isn't what Umbrella is facing a microcosm of what Rabbit is facing?
Under the existing order established by the United States, all developed countries are beneficiaries.
Each country has received its own share of high-profit soup, either in the form of resources or unique technologies. In addition, most countries have a small population and can survive by relying on only a few cutting-edge industries.
In this situation, even if Da Piaoliang often reaps the whole world regularly based on its own domestic conflicts, inflation and various economic problems, and cuts their flesh to fill itself, all parties still have a certain degree of tolerance for Da Piaoliang and accept its domination!
Most people in most countries have actually resigned themselves to the fact that the United States is superior.
Only rabbits have to feed 1.4 billion people in the country and compare with the best of all countries in all aspects at the same time.
In order for 1.4 billion people to live a good life, the necessary condition is to obtain almost all high value-added products, break through all technological barriers and not be stuck.
Does the rabbit want to be an enemy of Da Piaoliang?
How is that possible? It is the only superpower at present.
But sometimes it’s not enough for you to just not think about it, you also need the other person to have the same thoughts.
Some people say, why make them unhappy.
Yes, why should we make them unhappy? Just listen to them obediently, never touch the high-end field from now on, and honestly provide cheap goods to the Western masters. Then when you accumulate enough wealth, let them happily cut a few to resolve their domestic conflicts. After sucking their blood, let them acquire high-quality industries at low prices. Repeat this cycle over and over again. Let them taste the sweetness, and they will naturally be happy.
Moreover, a group of compradors will stand out among them, become the superior ones, and integrate into their upper circle. At that time, everyone will scramble to become compradors, all energy will be wasted on internal friction, and they will always have to accept their fate.
Being backward does not necessarily mean you will be beaten, but being backward and having money will definitely mean you will.
"Damn, why do I suddenly feel this pressure? Isn't it aimed at Umbrella?"
"Hey, it seems that we may also face ..."
"I'm so angry for no apparent reason."
"We are the only ones who feel angry because other people don't care anymore. Some even feel proud to be stationed there."
"Isn't that how we got through it before? In fact, the world has never been peaceful, but we live in a peaceful country and era."
"From the very beginning, we have been subjected to various threats and suppression. According to the declassified documents, during the Korean War, Britain planned to launch 890 nuclear bombs against our 117 cities. In 1961, Britain sent bombers carrying 50 nuclear bombs to Singapore to deal with the Hong Kong issue, and they did not withdraw until our own test explosion was successful.
“Later, we fell out with our northern neighbor and were always under the threat of nuclear weapons. But before the northern neighbor disintegrated, we at least had more strategic options. But when this best meat shield disappeared, we began to face the threat from the other side of the ocean head-on.
"The Yinhe incident, crossing sensitive areas and forcing us to board the ship with land artillery, bombing the South Embassy, crashing our planes, it can be said that many things that seem incredible now have been happening all the time. They would come to test you and slap you every now and then, until their strategic focus shifted to counter-terrorism, giving us a brief and precious time to recuperate.
"Now, they want to come back again. What Umbrella is facing is probably what we need to face as well. We are not living in a peaceful era..."
"Of the 190 countries in the United Nations, only three have not been the target of military intervention by the United States. This is because these three countries are too small to be of any use."
"So why should we make them angry?"
"Because you are not white, they can't even take care of their own dogs, so how can they care about your life or death? Of course, some people think that they lick it earlier and faster, so it may be different..."
"Is it not too late for Da Piaoliang to start a new trend and look down on those who surrender later? They think that as long as you surrender early enough, it's fine."
“…”
It can be said that ASML's sudden move to put extreme pressure on Umbrella has in turn brought huge pressure to the country.
When even the DUV lithography machine was still under research, this new track was suddenly brought out. The EUV lithography machine, which brings together all the world's top technologies, is said to be able to reach the limits of silicon-based chips. This really makes people feel a huge pressure.
At the same time, many people also turned their attention to Umbrella.
I don’t know how this company that has created miracles should face…
Umbrella was the first to come up with the DUV lithography machine, and now many people are indeed watching whether they can also come up with EUV, but ASML’s team lineup has already been revealed.
Umbrella does have the advantage of 'magic', but it has always been based on the basic laws, so it feels to them that it is impossible to conquer!
Maybe some of the difficulties can be overcome, but I'm afraid it won't work as a whole!
Many people on the Internet are also paying attention to this matter.
But for them, they obviously don’t have so many thoughts. They are more concerned about the impact on themselves, and whether Umbrella will not be able to keep up after being sanctioned!
"What should I do with the chip in the Red Queen bracelet?"
"Why impose sanctions? Who is bothered by them building a city on the sea?"
"It's that lame excuse again. Can you change it? I'm tired of hearing it."
"The latest chips haven't come out yet, but the chip factory is expected to make an official announcement soon. I don't know when the wafer factory will start construction."
"I have friends in this industry, and they said that EDA is very fast after getting the upgrade from Umbrella."
"No way, we upgraded our EDA software using someone else's software, and now we're imposing sanctions on them?"
"Hey, maybe Red Queen's phone won't work anymore. The ten-fold difference is too big."
“Playing console games on mobile phones is just around the corner.”
"I also want to see what will happen when it collides with Red Queen+ after upgrading."
"A certain song should also have artificial intelligence, right? It's unreasonable that it can't beat Red Queen with such support."
"I hope Umbrella can license out the holographic technology..."
“…”
…
When ASML launched a strong attack and everyone outside was talking about it.
Wang Yi was busy adjusting the materials in front of him.
When Wang Yi first started working on superconducting materials, he subconsciously chose the silver factor and eventually chose silver-copper alloy.
In the end, he did manage to produce a small piece of room-temperature superconductor by brute force, but Wang Yi was very tired.
If this kind of superconducting material is used in the future, then even if he does nothing and masturbates for 24 hours a day, it will not be enough.
So I just threw it aside.
This time, Wang Yi carefully interpreted the hydrogen sulfide experiment.
What is superconductivity?
No resistance plus anti-magnetism, both are indispensable.
Of course, this no resistance itself is still relative, but it has no effect. When the resistance is less than 10^-25 ohms, it can be regarded as no resistance.
The first superconductor discovered was mercury.
Subsequently, a number of materials were discovered that could achieve superconducting properties when cooled by liquid helium.
Take metals as an example. Metals are composed of metal atoms in a metal lattice structure, in which free electrons can move freely, so they can conduct electricity.
However, the metal atoms themselves are also in a state of vibration in the lattice, and will "collide" with the moving electrons, thereby absorbing part of the energy and converting it into their own internal energy, which is reflected in the increase in temperature after power is turned on.
Usually, as the temperature rises, the speed of metal atoms becomes faster and faster, and the possibility of colliding with electrons also increases, so the resistance usually increases.
This is also the reason why low temperature was used to test mercury resistors in the first place, in order to see how small the resistance could be.
However, the birth of superconductivity is not simply due to the fact that the temperature is too low, which causes the atomic vibration to become smaller. This is only one of the reasons.
When electrons are moving, there is a probability that metal atoms will collide with each other no matter how slow their movement is.
The superconducting material itself is not absolute zero, and it does not eliminate the vibration of metal atoms.
Therefore, the reason for the birth of superconductivity still needs to be distinguished from the two basic particle categories of bosons and fermions.
Fermions are semi-odd particles with a spin of one-half or three-half. They obey the Pauli exclusion principle, which states that a quantum state can only accommodate one particle and they cannot overlap or be superimposed on each other. The matter we can touch is, in a sense, composed of fermions.
Bosons are particles with integer spin that do not follow the Pauli exclusion principle. For example, photons can be regarded as a magnifying glass that can focus sunlight and compress it into a small point. In theory, all photons can be superimposed in a quantum state.
But for electrons, which are fermions, the thicker the wire the current passes through, the better.
What we usually call the singularity at the center of a black hole and the singularity at the Big Bang is when the degeneracy pressure between fermions is destroyed by a larger force, collapsing into a quantum state, creating an effect similar to a magnifying glass concentrating sunlight, with infinite superposition.
After understanding this, we need to extend another type of substance, which is called superfluid. Under specific conditions, two types of fermions couple with each other to form Cooper pairs, turning the original half-odd spin coupling into an integer, thereby obtaining properties similar to bosons.
For example, helium nuclei.
This allows superfluids to eliminate friction, which means they can flow quickly through extremely thin tubes without sticking, or rotate in a circle with a little force to rotate around the circle almost forever.
Superconductivity at low temperatures is based on this reason. The energy of electrons as fermions is lower than the energy in the Fermi-Dirac distribution, which leads to pairwise coupling to form Cooper pairs, which then "flow" freely in the conductor without being affected.
Therefore, the key is how to combine electrons into Cooper pairs.
The reason why hydrogen sulfide was chosen as the material in the paper is that "hydrogen" is the lightest atomic nucleus. When electrons move in a conductor, they can attract nearby atomic nuclei to move. Similarly, when the movement of atomic nuclei becomes denser, they will attract the next electron, making it easier to form pairs and complete matching.
This would lower the conditions required for electrons to combine into Cooper pairs, eliminating the need for temperatures close to absolute zero.
Judging from the laboratory results, the direction is not wrong.
The goal is to find ways to bring out the metallic properties of hydrogen. Yes, hydrogen can form 'metallic hydrogen' under extreme conditions, but human technology is not yet able to do it, so we use diamond pressure combined with lowering the temperature and then choose materials such as hydrogen sulfide to achieve some of the properties.
Before, Wang Yi had fallen into a misunderstanding. He always wanted to use the properties of metals and silver to form a superconducting alloy.
However, using silver to interfere with magic power and stimulate the metallic properties of hydrogen seems to be much simpler than using silver-copper alloy!
Silver hydride, this is a strange thing that Wang Yixin tinkered with.
Now he still has to personally mobilize the magic power of the Mage Tower to make it.
But it is much easier and more efficient than the previous silver-copper alloy.
After the Mage Tower in Penglai is completed, although the production capacity will not be large, it should be self-sufficient.
And even though no one can do it now, it won’t be a problem to just make some chips and help Lin Shiqin upgrade.
Anyway, the EUV lithography machine we developed is very solid, so we can directly work on this kind of material...
