Chapter 36: The Tenth Day of the Relationship: Wu's Mother noticed two people...

Wu's Mother noticed two people coming out and beckoned them to dinner. When Wu Yunxi and Quan Zhiyong arrived, they sat down to eat.

They chatted over the meal, though Quan Zhiyong and Wu Yunxi's father did most of the talking. He would occasionally pick up food for Wu Yunxi. Even though he was talking to an elder, Quan Zhiyong was always paying attention to Wu Yunxi's well-being.

This natural behavior was clearly not fake; it was the way they behaved in their daily interactions. This also reassured Wu Yunxi, who had initially felt a bit uneasy when she heard her talk about dating a celebrity, but complete reassurance was impossible.

Wu Yunxi's mother was a person who paid close attention to detail. Just like when she was with Wu Yunxi's father, she would remember anniversaries and other events. Luckily, Wu Yunxi's father also had a good memory, so both of them paid some attention to these matters. However, Wu Yunxi, who had been raised by this family, could sometimes be quite careless. Birthdays and the like would be celebrated if they wanted to, and ignored if they didn't.

Fortunately, Quan Zhilong was also someone who celebrated anniversaries, and with Wu Yunxi's occasional surprises, the two of them were enjoying a lively time.

However, as parents, they all had their own opinions on the matter of their daughter's boyfriend's first visit. Wu Yunxi was the most focused person at the table.

After eating something, Wu Yunxi regained some energy, but after all, she was still ill. After chatting with her family for a while, she unknowingly fell asleep leaning against Quan Zhilong.

The others, especially Quan Zhilong, immediately noticed Wu Yunxi's sleep. The three of them exchanged glances, and finally, with the elders' approval, Quan Zhilong lifted Wu Yunxi up.

This action caused Wu Yunxi to frown slightly, but only after finding a more comfortable position did she relax. Quan Zhilong was initially worried about waking her, but when the others quieted down, he spoke softly to Wu Yunxi's parents and carried her into the room.

Because they were hesitant to behave in front of their elders, they could only gently place the person on the bed and, after adjusting the covers, Quan Zhiyong quietly walked out. Luckily, Wu Yunxi had changed into pajamas upon returning. She had been wearing the same furry pajamas during dinner, otherwise, sleeping in her coat would have been uncomfortable.

Seeing Quan Zhiyong come out so well, Wu Yunxi's father was relieved. But they were all men, so everyone knew each other. If someone said they had absolutely no thoughts of intimacy during a relationship, it was likely that they didn't like the other person. So, Wu's father knew Quan Zhiyong's quietness was solely due to their presence; otherwise, he wouldn't be so quiet.

Wu Yunxi was already asleep. They had been at the hospital all day, and Quan Zhiyong had driven over after work. So, they all went back to their rooms to sleep. Wu Yunxi's parents, however, kept an eye on the noise outside, and only fell asleep when they heard Quan Zhiyong hadn't left.

It wasn't that Quan Zhilong didn't want to stay in the same room with Wu Yunxi; the situation simply didn't allow it. Before bed, however, he received a call from his mother, asking about his visit to the elders.

However, upon hearing that Wu Yunxi had fallen asleep due to illness, she hung up after a short conversation, fearing that Quan Zhilong's call would disturb her.

Quan Zhilong then turned off the lights and tried to get some sleep. However, the night was destined to be restless. Fearing Wu Yunxi might have another fever, Quan Zhilong kept a close eye on the next room. Because of his light sleep, Quan Zhilong woke up early that morning, still somewhat dazed as he took in his surroundings. He slowly regained consciousness.

Outside, he could hear the voices of Wu's father and mother talking, but Quan Zhilong didn't hear any familiar voices, and he knew Wu Yunxi hadn't woken up yet.

After washing up, Quan Zhilong opened the door and walked out. The noise caught the attention of those sitting in the living room, and they all turned to look at Quan Zhilong.

Besides Wu Yunxi's parents, there were two elders Quan Zhilong didn't recognize. They looked a bit like Wu's father, so while he didn't know their identities, he could probably guess.

Mother Wu was the first to react, beckoning Quan Zhilong over.

"Zhilong, are you up? Come and say hello to Yunxi's uncle and aunt."

Grandma's generation had more children, unlike today's, who are reluctant to marry and have children. There were also many cousins, but today, the ones who came were Wu Yunxi's uncle and aunt.

One had to marvel at the power of genes. Even though he didn't know their identities, just by looking at their faces, he could tell they were related to Wu's father.

"Hello, uncle, hello, aunt."

Unable to figure out what to address them, Quan Zhilong simply followed Mother Wu's instructions.

Quan Zhilong's presence had just been announced to them. He had come over when he saw unfamiliar shoes at the door. Wu Yunxi's aunt had casually asked, and Mother Wu had spilled the beans. It wasn't anything shameful, especially since anyone else would probably brag about their daughter's boyfriend being an entertainer.

"Okay, okay, welcome to our home. We're sorry we can't treat you properly today. Yunxi will treat you when she wakes up. The next time you visit, we'll definitely treat you well."

They were there this morning because of Wu Yunxi's grandmother's fall. It had reminded them, as children, that their mother was no longer the same person she had been. A small accident could have irreversible consequences. If she hadn't been rushed to the hospital in time, the doctors had warned her otherwise.

So they were discussing who would take Wu Yunxi's grandmother home to live. It wasn't that they were shirking responsibility; everyone wanted to take her home, but there was only one mother, and it wasn't likely everyone would be satisfied with the decision.

They had been discussing this matter before Quan Zhilong showed up, but with that interruption, the other two could only sigh helplessly and give the opportunity to Wu Yunxi's father. Of course, they'd definitely choose to rotate roles later. After all, who wouldn't want to show filial piety to their mother, especially since

their mother and father had sacrificed so much for them growing up?

Now wasn't the time to discuss this further. The four elders stood up. Wu Yunxi's mother went to the kitchen to get the soup she'd made, and they prepared to go to the hospital to see Wu Yunxi's grandmother.

She'd woken up yesterday, but the surgery where she'd fallen wasn't going to be very comfortable, and she needed time to rest and adjust.

Quan Zhiyong was left at home. After Wu Yunxi woke up and went to the hospital for IV drips, they could spend some time together. After brunch, Quan Ji-yong was almost ready to return to Seoul, fearing he'd be late for work today.

It had been a truly wonderful sleep, and upon waking, Wu Yunxi felt much more energetic. That was only compared to yesterday, though; her voice was still noticeably nasal, but she was more energetic and joking with Quan Ji-yong.

Because of her new voice, Wu Yunxi even made a playful imitation of Quan Ji-yong's song. It was just Xiao Xin's version of the song. Quan Ji-yong, after worrying all day yesterday, finally felt a little relieved.

After urging them to finish their meal, Quan Ji-yong drove them to the hospital, expertly helping them register and see the doctor. He then held Wu Yunxi's other hand tightly, offering her strength while she received the injections.

After the injections were completed, they found a suitable place to sit down. Wu Yunxi rested her head on Quan Zhilong's shoulder and watched Quan Zhilong messaging with her agent on her mobile phone. Although she knew that Quan Zhilong was going back to Seoul today, Wu Yunxi felt it most clearly at this moment.

"What's wrong? Do you want to sleep for a while? I'll help you watch."

Noticing Wu Yunxi's eyes, Quan Zhilong lowered his head and asked.

"Okay, then I'll sleep for a while, Oppa."
