Chapter 346 Unsolved Mystery
It was a six-week period. It felt like a year while I was going through it, but it went by so quickly when it was over.
Although there is someone to accompany and serve me every day.
But lying still like this is a feeling I never want to experience again in my life.
My aunt, grandpa and Xia Miao are in the same camp and they refuse to let me move until I lie down for the day recommended by the doctor.
He Shu lay there every day, eating, drinking, defecating, urinating and sleeping. When he was bored, he would read the books that Xia Miao borrowed from the library.
I almost counted on my fingers and finally got through it today.
He felt that his head had become flattened from sleeping, and his limbs were atrophied from lying down. No matter how often he rubbed them, it was of no use.
On the day I was able to get out of bed, except for my aunt who was still working, the whole family was there, including my godfather and Xia Miao.
It seemed like some grand ceremony was about to take place, with my godfather and uncle standing on each side, carefully holding onto something fragile.
He Shu wanted to try to sit up by himself but they wouldn't let him. Two of them used four big hands to support his head, back and waist and helped him sit up.
No matter how slowly I got up, after lying down for nearly a month and a half, I suddenly sat up, and my head still felt dizzy.
My chest feels a bit bloated and my bones a little sore, but neither is noticeable.
The most obvious thing was that He Shu felt like his joints were rusted, especially his waist, which was stiff and painful.
During this period, I occasionally rocked the bed a little, but it was completely different from actually sitting up.
After sitting there for a while with the support of his uncle and godfather, He Shu moved his legs to the edge of the bed.
Xia Miao quickly stepped forward and helped him put on the slippers on his feet.
The slippers are new. He Shu watched his aunt crochet them bit by bit with wool over the past few days. The soles are also very soft.
"Don't rush to get out of bed, sit down for a while and relax."
"Do your bones hurt?"
"If you're feeling uncomfortable, just tell me what's bothering you. Don't just hold it in just to get out of bed earlier."
My aunt asked repeatedly, fearing that He Shu would move around before he had fully recovered.
He Shu smiled and shook his head: "I'm not feeling uncomfortable, aunt. It's been so long, and the doctor said there's no problem."
He held on to his uncle and godfather's arms and tried to stand up, but his feet felt like they were stepping on two balls of cotton and his legs had no strength at all.
His knees were bent downwards. If it weren't for his uncle and godfather holding him up, he would have probably fallen to his knees .
He Shu blushed a little: "I've been lying down for a long time. Why do I feel like I've forgotten how to walk?"
"It's normal, you just need to adapt to it." The uncle said, then carried He Shu and moved forward.
Grandpa sat on the sofa and watched happily: "The child recovered quickly and can walk now."
After all, his physical condition was too weak. After walking around the ward for a short while, He Shu began to sweat.
Hearing his grandfather's words, He Shu panted slightly and said, "Grandpa, I'm still a child?"
"Haha, aren't you just a child in my eyes?"
I insisted on walking around for another round, but my aunt wouldn't let me go anymore, saying that even though I was able to get out of bed, I couldn't move around for too long at once.
So before I could even get used to my shaking legs, I was sent back to bed.
It is already November now, and by the end of the month, I will be able to be discharged from the hospital and go home to recuperate.
He Shu felt that he could even go back to school to finish the last month of classes this semester.
The ward was bustling with activity. Everyone had lunch together, and then my uncle left with my godfather and Xia Miao.
First send Xia Miao back to school, then the uncle will send godfather to visit the prison.
My aunt brought some water to He Shu. Just after he took two sips, Zhou Zhensheng came over.
Seeing He Shu sitting beside the bed, he smiled and said, "Wow, you can get up so soon? It's good to be young."
Zhou Zhensheng couldn't walk yet, so Xiao Zhang pushed him from behind, but he didn't have to carry an oxygen bag with him wherever he went.
"Grandpa is here too?" Zhou Zhensheng greeted Grandpa Qi.
"Xiao Zhou, you are not young anymore, you need to take good care of yourself."
"Ah, it's my destiny to be busy and I can't sit still."
Upon hearing this, Mr. Qi didn't say anything. He knew that Zhou Zhensheng came to see He Shu and probably had something to say.
He asked his daughter-in-law to accompany him for a walk and left them in the ward.
"It looks like you've recovered well. You're really lucky."
He Shu smiled and said, "Yeah, my uncle said he would take me to experience skydiving but it never happened. I'm jumping straight away, so it can be considered a leapfrog experience."
Zhou Zhensheng laughed loudly and pointed at He Shu: "Those who survive a great disaster will have good fortune in the future. The old saying is definitely true."
Afterwards, Zhou Zhensheng asked He Shu: "Your aunt said you wanted Ma Dao's ashes and wanted to send him back to his hometown for burial."
"Yes, Uncle Zhou, you don't agree either?"
Zhou Zhensheng shook his head: "It's not that I disagree, but I think there may be something that Saber hasn't fully explained."
He Shu felt a bit of a headache after hearing this. He actually trusted Ma Dao quite a lot. When a person makes arrangements for his funeral before dying, does he have to keep secrets?
"Uncle Zhou, the truth is that you and my aunt are too worried that I might be in danger, so you're overthinking it."
Zhou Zhensheng raised his eyebrows; "Oh? What do you mean?"
"Ma Dao certainly has another purpose. He wants me to help his grandma."
He Shu said softly, "He left the mountains when he was 12 and never went back. Now, the only relative of Ma Dao left in the mountain village is a blind old lady. This is the last thing he can't let go of."
"So, sending him back home is only one aspect, the real purpose is to settle his grandmother in her later years."
Zhou Zhensheng pondered, is this really the case?
"It was because I promised to help him take care of grandma that he told me where the evidence was hidden."
Zhou Zhensheng nodded: "Then you don't have to go in person, why not send the ashes over and let our team members over there take care of it. As for his grandmother, we can take her out and send her to a nursing home for care."
He Shu said sternly, "Uncle Zhou, I promised the Saber Club that I would go there in person. I can't be a man who goes back on his word."
Zhou Zhensheng laughed and said, "Just do it. He's dead. He won't know whether you did it or not."
"But I know."
After hearing what He Shu said, Zhou Zhensheng was speechless for a moment. He found that He Shu was actually quite stubborn.
Then, he sighed heavily: "In fact, the environment over there is no longer dangerous after two rounds of cleaning. Your aunt and I are worried that you care too much about Chen He and Ma Dao."
"He Shu, I know those two people left a deep impression on you, especially Chen He. I always feel that you still haven't gotten over his death."
"I just hope you can understand that you are different from them."
He Shu nodded: "I understand, Uncle Zhou, I understood this when I was a child. Everyone has a complex side , and I don't try to fully understand or analyze anyone."
Perhaps, Sabre really has something hidden that he hasn't told you yet.
But that had nothing to do with He Shu. He just had to do what he promised to Ma Dao.
He Shu still has two doubts. One is where did the painting in Chen He's hand go?
Another point is, where is the money from Ma Dao? He is fully capable of giving his grandmother a rich life, so why not do it?
He Shu had , and Zhou Zhensheng also knew them, but now both Chen He and Ma Dao were dead.
These two doubts have completely become an unsolved mystery...
