Chapter 33 A Bad Premonition

Wang Zheng felt like he was about to die, or to be more precise, he was about to die of exhaustion.
He was running in the dark, with no light source nearby. He could feel something chasing him from behind. He didn't dare to stop and ran forward desperately. Even while running, he didn't dare to look left or right.
Because there were footsteps coming from all directions, as if many people were chasing him.
He could feel the atmosphere becoming increasingly oppressive, and the air around him seemed to have squeezed him into a corner, making it hard for him to breathe. But at this moment, the footsteps beside him stopped, as if they had never appeared.
He lowered his head and looked at the yellow line that blocked his waist, with an indescribable sense of familiarity. Then he raised his head and looked at the old anti-theft door in front of him, and then habitually pushed the door open and walked into the house.
Sofa, bathroom...
Every furnishing in the room told him clearly that he had returned to Longfa's home, which was the crime scene of the second dismemberment case.
But strangely, the house was not as messy as when he first came. Instead, it was tidied in an orderly manner, and there was a faint scent of flowers in the air.
The owner of the house died, who is responsible for cleaning the house?
Wang Zheng's eyes were a little confused, and then he pulled away the chair on the dining table as if possessed by a ghost, and saw a boat-shaped plate appear out of thin air on the neat table.
Smoky cool air rose from the bottom of the plate, covering the neatly laid food on the plate. Although the food only appeared for a moment, it did not hinder Wang Zheng's eyes. He recognized that there were thin slices of meat in the plate.
"This meat is not for eating." A vague figure appeared beside Wang Zheng, and he sat elegantly on a chair beside him.
"Why is that?" As Wang Zheng spoke, he lowered his head and pinched himself. Finding no pain, he finally realized where he was.
This is a dream, Wang Zheng’s unique dream.
"You are so stupid that I hate you." The man shook his head. "Although the murderer's actions were provocative, he would not be stupid enough to leave such important evidence at the crime scene."
"It seems that I didn't take the initiative to find you." Wang Zheng relaxed, "This is the first time you took the initiative to provide me with clues."
"If you weren't stupid enough to contact that group of even stupider people, I wouldn't bother to talk to you." The man rolled his eyes and paused before saying, "The meat is a crucial piece of evidence. The murderer may have taken it away."
"Why not flush it into the sewer?" Wang Zheng was puzzled. It was very dangerous to take away evidence when committing a crime in a residential area. If he was a murderer, he might choose to flush the evidence away.
But, since the meat was taken away, why were the internal organs left behind? Was it really just a simple provocation?
"That's up to you to figure out, and the murderer left something for you this time." The man said frivolously, "I lost control."
"What did you say!" Wang Zheng suddenly became nervous.
"I said I lost control." The man said cautiously, "I have a bad feeling. Although I enjoy the control of my body, I don't like the feeling of being dominated by others. This feeling is like putting a chain around my neck, making me breathless."
Snapped!
Wang Zheng felt his neck tighten and he looked down subconsciously. There was indeed an iron chain as thick as his arm around his neck, and the table in front of him was no longer there, but a huge dog cage!
"don't want!"
Wang Zheng woke up suddenly. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Gao Feng and Hua Mei looking at him with concern, and the furnishings around him had turned into the office of the special task force.
"You fainted and I carried you back." Gao Feng saw the confusion in Wang Zheng's eyes and explained.
But there were some things he didn't say directly. For example, when Wang Zheng was placed on the desk that was temporarily used as a bed, his feet kept rubbing on the desk as if he was running.
"What is going on?" Wang Zheng became more and more confused and paced back and forth in the office.
Not only Huamei, but even Gao Feng, the only person who arrived at the scene, could see his anxiety, but he could not help and could only squat by the window in a sullen manner, smoking heavily.
For a full half hour, no one spoke. Everyone had their own thoughts, but no one knew what they were thinking.
Bai Ling rushed in with a document in her hand, but was visibly stunned when she saw Wang Zheng. She lowered her head involuntarily, at a loss as to what to do.
"I'm sorry." Wang Zheng looked at Bai Ling sincerely, "I didn't know things would turn out like this."
"Yes, Wang Zheng he..." Gao Feng just stood up and was about to speak for Wang Zheng, but he inadvertently caught Huamei's gaze, so he had to sigh and give up.
"I think we should be honest with each other." Bai Ling said softly with her head down.
"I know." Wang Zheng smiled bitterly. "I know the seriousness of this problem. Whether you trust me or not, I will finish this case. After that, I will carefully choose whether to stay or go."
"Alright." Huamei waved her hand to stop Wang Zheng from continuing. "Let's talk about the deceased first. We can talk about this after the case is solved."
"Preliminary inference is that the murder weapon should be a scalpel. The injuries on the bones are consistent with those of a scalpel." Bai Ling pondered for a while and continued, "But based on the murderer's method, there are some problems."
"Tell me in detail." Gao Feng finally found a gap in the conversation, quickly interrupted, and then secretly poured a glass of water and handed it to Wang Zheng.
"At first, the technique of dissecting the head was quite amateurish, and there were several obvious knife marks on the skull." Bai Ling continued, "But when dissecting the spine, the technique became quite professional. By observing the bones, I couldn't even find any place where the knife shouldn't have been placed. I am very experienced."
"This is strange." Gao Feng touched his chin and thought: "If the murderer is one person, this situation should not happen. Everyone has different habits of using knives, and the difference in order will not be so big. But if two people planned the crime, the division of labor must be very clear. It is impossible to leave time for a novice to play freely, right?"
When everyone in the room heard Gao Feng's reasoning, they fell into deep thought.
"What about the blood test?" Wang Zheng asked.
"This is the weird part." Bai Ling said quickly, "Through comparison, I found that the blood in the bathtub belongs to the deceased Longfa, but the blood in the living room is not Longfa's. However, without DNA comparison, I can't be sure whose internal organs belong to."
"There must be other victims!" Wang Zheng suddenly said, "Let's change our way of thinking. Why did the murderer choose Long Fa instead of someone else? And why did he deliberately leave the internal organs of another victim at the scene? There must be a certain connection between these two clues."
"Could it be someone I know who committed the crime?" Gao Feng thought, "There are no signs of damage on the door of the deceased, which proves that the murderer entered Longfa's house normally."
"I can't rule out this possibility ." Wang Zheng thought for a moment, then asked in confusion, "By the way, why haven't I seen Professor Gu yet?"
Wang Zheng then woke up. Since he arrived at the crime scene, the stubborn old man had not been there. Now that he woke up, the old man was not there again.
"Did something happen?" Wang Zheng thought worriedly.
"He seemed to have a clue about the first dismemberment case." Gao Feng recalled.
On the morning of the day when the Dragon Act incident happened, Gu Xia received a phone call and left in a hurry. He did not contact them during that time, and several members of the task force did not know his exact location.
"This is very embarrassing." Wang Zheng sighed and said, "Professor Gu has the most experience in on-site investigations and is the most flexible in handling cases. If he were here, we would be able to avoid a lot of trouble."
"Even if he was here, I'm afraid he wouldn't be able to provide many clues." Gao Feng said helplessly: "I have basically checked all the surveillance points near the residential area. No suspicious people entered within half an hour before and after the time of the deceased's death."
"Where is the car?" Wang Zheng asked.
"The community has access control." Gao Feng shook his head. "All vehicles that want to enter the community must register in advance. I checked the registration book and there was no record of any entry or exit during that night."
"Then how did he take the meat away?" Wang Zheng remembered the advice given to him by his other personality and muttered, "If meat is not for eating, what else can it be used for?"
"Meat..." Huamei heard Wang Zheng muttering in a low voice, and a puzzled expression appeared on his face. After a while, he suddenly said, "Not only meat, but also the victim's skin! We didn't even find it at the scene!"
"Could it be..." Wang Zheng suddenly showed an ugly expression on his face, "Could it be that he turned the deceased into a doll?"
