Chapter 309: Putting the blame on someone else
When Cheng Jiu went out, he happened to meet someone looking for Lao K.
Seeing the other party, he snorted coldly and stood aside.
When the visitor saw him like this, a hint of disappointment flashed across his eyes, and then he greeted him with a big smile: "Brother Jiu, did you just come out?"
The other party was the one sent by Lao K to find the whereabouts of Mo Laoqi.
Everyone calls him Xiang Gu, and it seems that this name was given by Old K casually.
"Xiang Gu." Cheng Jiu leaned against the wall and sneered: "I heard that you have been doing well recently. What? Are you going to be rich?"
Xiang Gu smiled and said, "What are you talking about? Working under the boss, you can't eat for free, right? You are working for the boss..."
Cheng Jiu despised people who were like fence-sitters. He glanced at them and asked, "Have you found out where Mo Laoqi is?"
Xiang Gu smiled but didn't tell the truth: "Ninth brother, please don't make things difficult for me. The boss won't let us tell anyone about this, not even Third brother."
Cheng Jiu's annoyance towards him deepened: "Who can say that? The one lying on the bed? But what can we do? He may not wake up in this lifetime, and you are still hoping that he will wake up and help you?"
Xiang Gu still had a smile on his face, but it was obvious that there was some hostility in his eyes: "Brother Jiu, what are you talking about? Brother Jie is the boss's biological son. Even if he never wakes up, it can't change this fact. Neither you nor Brother San can compare to him. Don't say this in the future, lest the boss hears and gets upset. I have something else to do, so I'll leave first. You're busy."
As Xiang Gu left, Cheng Jiu looked gloomy. He walked out and called one of his men over: "Keep a close eye on Xiang Gu for the next two days."
The subordinates were puzzled: "Boss, why are you staring at him? Ever since that guy got into trouble, Xiang Gu has been a marginal figure and can't get on the stage."
Cheng Jiu snorted coldly: "You are presentable, can you answer the boss? He can!"
The subordinate shrank his neck and said, "Got it."
On the other side, when Xiang Gu went in, Old K had already come out of the study.
He walked quickly to Old K and said, "Boss, I don't know what method Master Zhao Wu used. He disappeared without a trace just when we found him."
When Lao K looked at him, Xiang Gu quickly took out a stack of photos and said, "We found traces of them here, but they had already left when we went there."
Old K picked up the photos and looked at them.
It was the old warehouse that Ge Jingyi took the photo of.
When Lao K was looking at the photos, someone outside the door said that a fox was coming. Lao K stopped and said, "Let her in."
Chi Xiao came to find Old K at Lin Feng's suggestion. When she came in and saw Xiang Gu, she frowned and called Old K "father".
Old K continued to look through the stack of photos and threw the photos he had finished looking at on the table: "How is your injury?"
Chi Xiao covered his mouth, anger flashed across his face, but he still said, "Much better."
Old K only hummed and said nothing until all the photos in his hand were thrown on the table. Chi Xiao bent over and asked curiously, "This place looks familiar..."
Xiang Gu took two steps forward but didn't dare to speak.
Old K pushed the photo forward: "Look carefully."
This made Chi Xiao dare not draw conclusions easily. She half-knelt on the ground and looked through the photos before looking at Lao K: "This is Cheng Jiu's warehouse. I've been there once, so I won't remember it wrong."
"Nine Brother?" Xiang Gu said in a loud voice, "Sister Xiao, are you sure you didn't see it wrong?"
Old K glanced at him, and Chi Xiao also looked at him unhappily: "Is it your turn to talk too much here?"
Xiang Gu knew he had said something wrong, and he immediately knelt down to admit his mistake to Lao K. His legs were bent, but Lao K said, "Okay, stand up."
Xiang Gu was a little surprised, and Chi Xiao looked at him with some curiosity.
"Since this is Cheng Jiu's place..."
Old K picked up one of the photos and pointed at Gu: "You, continue to check and see if there is any connection between the two of them."
Xiang Gu was in a dilemma: "Boss, check Brother Jiu..."
"Why, you can't check it?" Old K's eyes were filled with pressure: "Just check it for me. If he finds out, let him come find me."
With the golden medal of immunity from death, Xiang Gu immediately felt confident.
Just as Xiang Gugang nodded, someone knocked on the door and said, "Boss, the Third Master is back."
Old K hummed and sat back on the sofa: "Let him in."
Xiang Gu was very considerate: "Then Boss, I'll leave now."
"Go ahead."
Xiang Gu, who was leaving, met Qu Bai, who was entering. Xiang Gu stopped and called out respectfully, "Third Brother."
Qu Bai stopped and looked at him, nodded and said "hmm".
The two people who didn't seem to know each other well exchanged glances and then moved aside as if nothing had happened.
"The fox is here too."
Qu Bai glanced at Chi Xiao, walked over and sat not far from Old K. Seeing the photos on the table, he took two and looked at them: "What is this?"
"The place where Master Zhao Wu and his men were last seen." Old K nodded at Chi Xiao and said, "You can sit down too."
Chi Xiao sat down and looked at Qu Bai.
Qu Bai threw the photo back without commenting.
Seeing him like this, Chi Xiao couldn't help but ask, "I heard that you met Chi Xia today?"
"Um."
"How does it feel?"
Chi Xiao couldn't help but sneer: "The person I once cared about so much is now standing on the opposite side of you to interrogate you. This feeling is not something that everyone can experience, right?"
“It doesn’t feel like much.”
Qu Bai looked at her slowly: "But she is indeed better than you guys. There were several times when I almost got confused. If I have to choose, I will still choose to help her."
"Then you'd better be careful, otherwise you will die at her hands." Chi Xiao said with a smile and fierce eyes.
Qu Bai didn't want to argue with her about this, so he said perfunctorily: "Then I'll lend you my blessing, but I think if it was Chi Xia sitting opposite me now, the atmosphere in this room wouldn't be so annoying."
"Who are you in the same group with?" Chi Xiao glared at him.
Qu Bai was too lazy to reply to her and turned to Lao K: "What should we do next?"
Old K took the teacup, took a sip of tea and asked him, "Do you think her memory has been restored?"
“It’s ambiguous.”
Qu Bai said: "You should have figured it out. This is the first time we met today. It's possible that she threw a smoke bomb to fry us."
"I think so too." Old K agreed with Qu Bai: "Once you meet, she will quickly find a way to see you again, so be prepared."
"I understand." Qu Bai nodded with a smile on his lips.
Lao K looked at him: "What are you laughing at?"
Qu Bai did not hide anything: "To be honest, she is quite cute."
Old K: “Hmm?”
"I want her back."
Qu Bai put away the smile on his face and said, "If I have to choose someone to accompany and work with, I think she is the best candidate."
"You should know that she is already with the guy named Luo Xun next to her. I don't believe that she would choose you over the policeman she likes. After all, you can't give her what the policeman can give her."
Chi Xiao couldn't help but be sarcastic.
Qu Bai chuckled and leaned back: "So, this is why you failed your mission?"
Chi Xiao was stunned, and soon figured out what he meant. She was shocked and subconsciously glanced at Lao K: "What do you mean!"
"Literally."
Qu Bai's voice turned cold: "Because you don't want her to come back, the mission to assassinate Luo Xun failed, right?"
