Chapter 30 White Horse
Chapter 30: Baima
This Buddhist temple has been around for some time. The yellow walls and gray tiles all show signs of damage, but the plaque with the words "Baima Temple" engraved on it hangs squarely.
As soon as they entered the door, they saw an incense burner in the middle, and a group of people, including men and women, old and young, were queuing up to burn incense. Li Wenyu had never been to a Buddhist temple since he grew up. He didn't know which Bodhisattva he was worshiping, but he still wanted to take a look around.
Pei Xin said nothing and walked along the corridor with him.
There are a lot of bamboos in Buddhist temples, and you can see a few green bamboos almost everywhere. When the wind blows, broken snow drifts down, and the oval bamboo leaves droop. They passed by many treasure halls. The Buddha statues enshrined in the halls had different looks, attires, and magical instruments. Some people went in selectively to offer incense, while others simply worshiped them all.
Li Wenyu's footsteps finally stopped next to a bay leaf tree. The tree was so tall that its branches and leaves had extended to the gray tiles. The treasure hall directly opposite the bay leaf tree is the Guanyin Hall. The Bodhisattva on the lotus platform is holding a pure vase, with his eyes lowered and showing mercy.
From outside the temple, the Bodhisattva statue is so huge that ordinary people are just beings being looked down upon.
"Would you like to go in and pay your respects?" Pei Xin stood next to Li Wenyu without raising his eyebrows.
Li Wenyu shook his head: "Let's go forward."
He thought, whether it works or not, my mother should have already prayed for me.
The vermilion corridor came to the end, and the two of them walked into the corridor. The portraits outlined on the stone wall were strange. The little devil with green face and fangs was holding the tortured person. Mountains of swords, seas of fire, evil mirrors and oil cauldrons, and faces twisted in pain could be vaguely seen.
Li Wenyu guessed that this was probably the eighteen levels of hell mentioned by Buddhism. He stretched out his index finger and touched the wall, touching the strange mask on the face of the green ghost.
"You are cursing me in your heart." Pei Xin pinched his finger and spoke as if he was caring, but his tone was pleasant.
Li Wenyu was stunned for a moment, and then smiled lightly: "In your eyes, I am so childish, and I want you to die so much?"
Pei Xin's focus was obviously on the second half of the sentence, and his palms were clenched so hard that Li Wen Yu's fingers were slightly warm, and he said, "Isn't it?"
The cold and damp breath lingered in the mountains. Li Wen Yu was so cold that the tip of his nose and ears were reddish. The mountain wind poured into the corridor, and then got into his collar and cuffs, which made people feel uncomfortable. Can't help but shiver. He took his hands out and put them into his pockets, spitting out white mist as he spoke: "I don't have this idea yet, but if you still threaten me after today, I will really curse you."
Pei Xin snorted coldly, with a look on his face. Indifferent and indifferent: "Then you curse me."
Li Wenyu originally stepped forward, but when he turned back, his eyes reflected a cold light, like melting snow, soft and piercing: "What do you mean? This period of time , I thought you already understood, and it won’t be the same as before..."
Pei Xin suddenly took a step forward, and not even the wind could come in between the two of them. He had the light behind him, his pupils were dark, and he stared without saying a word or smiling. When looking for something or someone, he is like a beast dormant in the dark, lazily and casually looking at the prey that breaks into his eyes.
"What were you like before?" He said coldly, and then remembered the words Li Wenyu once used to describe him, and raised his eyebrows, "Psychotic? Madman? I have always been that way."
Li Wenyu looked at him silently, and then said after a while: "You don't have to be."
Pei Xin hated Li Wenyu's expression of pity and sadness the most, as if he had gone to another place that he could never go to.
Without warning, he raised his hand and pinched Li Wenyu's chin so hard that his bones hurt. The tip of Li Wenyu's nose was still red, his lips were also red, and his eyes seemed to be covered with a layer of fog. Then, in the pain, a group of strong hatred slowly gathered, like a cold flame.
Pei Xin was suddenly satisfied. He smiled and put his head down to the red lips. Ignoring the resisting whimpers and violent struggles in his ears, he tasted the juice inside.
When Li Wenyu was let go, he was out of strength and unprepared. He fell limply backwards. Pei Xin quickly pulled his arm to steady him, but was slapped with a backhand.
Pei Xin's face turned sideways. In fact, Li Wenyu couldn't even stand firmly and didn't have much strength in his hands. His deviation was just because it was unexpected.
"Pei Xin," Li Wenyu warned with a cold face, "Don't get sick again."
Pei Xin casually touched the red mark on his face, nodded and smiled: "Okay, I won't get sick, and you promise to send me home You have to give me my Buddhist amulet."
Li Wenyu had nothing to say and let out a sarcastic laugh.
People came and went in the Buddhist temple, and occasionally monks passed by. They put their palms together and bowed to each other, and then they continued to burn incense and worship Buddha, meditating and meditating. Naturally, no one noticed the two young men walking one behind the other in the corridor.
At the end of the corridor, a few steps away, an unknown tree grows thickly and looks very old. There are many red silk and wooden notes hanging on it. If you look closely, you can see that they are all the wishes of pilgrims. At this moment, people in groups of three or three were piously writing something on the wooden table under the eaves. After a moment, they picked up a wooden paper and walked towards the tree.
Red silk wooden paper needs to be purchased at the souvenir shop. Li Wenyu looked around and saw a slightly newer and obviously renovated tile-roofed house not far away.
There were many people in the store, and the ones in charge were younger monks. Li Wenyu saw all kinds of sachets, jade pendants, and peace charms in the cupboard, but he didn't see the Buddha amulet.
He smiled politely at the little monk next to him, who had a stern-looking face. "Little master, I want to buy a Buddhist amulet."
The young monk put his palms together and said Amitabha: "Donor, what kind of Buddhist amulet is it?"
Li Wenyu thought for two seconds, and first He made a gesture of different sizes and shapes, trying to describe it as specifically as possible: "Aqua blue, with lotus patterns on it, for peace of mind."
The young monk pondered for a moment, then bowed again: "The kind of Buddhist amulet mentioned by the donor needs to be hosted by this temple. Master consecrated it, it is not for sale."
Li Wenyu was stunned and looked at Pei Xin behind him. Pei Xin had no reaction since he entered the door, and did not look at the contents of the cupboard. He stood not far away from Li Wenyu. He raised his head and caught Li Wenyu's questioning gaze. He was obviously not as patient as Li Wenyu, so he went straight to the point: "Then how can we get it."
"The master in charge likes to travel and is not in the temple at the moment," the young monk said lowly. He put his eyebrows together and said, "We have to let it happen when we meet."
Pei Xin sneered, as if he was disdainful of such mysterious remarks, and turned around and walked out.
Li Wenyu hurriedly gave the young monk a very apologetic smile: "Thank you, young master. I will visit the master next time I come here. Thank you very much."
When they came out of the Buddhist temple, they took another exit and passed through a Large tracts of bamboo forest have not yet had time to plow the snow. The door in front of him was obviously more dilapidated than the main entrance. Looking from the mountain gate, the green peaks of the mountains were shrouded in clouds and white snow, making it unclear.
It took me an hour and a half to go up the mountain on New Year's Day, and then came down empty-handed.
Pei Xin walked in front. The road down the mountain was slipperier than the one up the mountain. Li Wenyu focused on the road under his feet. After walking for a few minutes, Pei Xin sneered: "This is my first time to do such a stupid thing."
Li Wenyu snorted: "This is the gift you asked for, and you came for it yourself."
Pei Xin continued to move forward, without squinting, but he reached back and grabbed Li Wenyu's wrist accurately: "Then what should I say if I don't get the gift now?"
Li Wenyu was very tired and cold. Very, very hungry, and not wanting to talk to Pei Xin, he said perfunctorily: "Whatever you say."
Pei Xin glanced back at him, and then continued to look at the road: "Okay, in order to compensate me, you invite me Have a meal and then prepare another gift for me.”
Except for a few birdsong, there were no other sounds in the forest. Li Wenyu was obviously completely speechless about Pei Xin's moodiness.
By the time they reached the foot of Kuaishan Mountain, Li Wenyu was so tired that he could hardly walk. The field of vision gradually broadened, and when I looked back, I could only see greenery and white snow, and the winding bamboo path had disappeared into the mountains and forests.
