Chapter 3 Corpse Farm

I was about to shout when someone covered my mouth. Then my eyes widened. It was my cousin!
"Don't shout, I came out a long time ago."
My cousin explained that he had come out before me.
I felt a little helpless. I had been worrying for a long time, but this uncle ran faster than me.
I pointed to the third floor again and told him what I had just seen.
"You are confused, kid. The paper man and the weasel before were all gone."
Uncle San’s words made me realize that I was blinded by a ghost before?
Thinking of the weasel worshiping the moon and the red-eyed paper man, I still feel a lingering fear.
I'm afraid this will be a shadow in my heart for a long time to come.
This place is really weird!
Fortunately, my cousin came back and I found my backbone. He untied the clothes tied on my shoulders.
He peeled off the talisman paper again. The bloody handprint on his shoulder was much lighter. The yellow talisman paper had turned black.
My cousin sighed, "This is a mother-son curse."
I quickly asked my cousin what he meant. He lit a cigarette and said, "Children who died in the womb always have strong resentment. Maybe the problem is this vicious child!"

In other words, both mother and son have evil spirits.
The image of a bloody child emerged in my mind, and I was so scared.
"How about we leave first?"
I said with some fear, my cousin nodded, and I was immediately delighted.
I don't want to stay in this damn place for even a moment!
I was walking towards the door, when my cousin suddenly stopped me.
Following his gaze, my heart skipped a beat.
A small footprint, just outside the door.
It seemed like something was hiding outside the door.
"Is there a child outside the door?" I lowered my voice and asked in my cousin's ear.
My cousin didn't answer, but pointed at the footprints and asked me, "Do you think there's something wrong with these footprints?"
After he reminded me of this, I really discovered that this is called a footprint, but it looks like a small pit. Whose feet look like this?
"This one looks like walking on tiptoes." My cousin rubbed his chin.
My heart tightened. I've heard from old people that only ghosts walk on tiptoe!
"Nephew, why don't you go out and have a look. Your cousin is here, so everything will be fine."
My cousin's eyes rolled and he started to fool me again. I rolled my eyes at him, thinking he really took me for a fool.
Even if it's okay, I don't want to be the bait.
Seeing that he couldn't make me do anything, my cousin took out a ball of red thread and a few small flags from the torn bag he had been carrying.
He wrapped the red string around the flag and stuck it into the ground . It looked like he was setting up a battle formation.
"We can just use flags to set up a death array and pray for the soul to be reborn. Come and help me," my cousin explained.
"Why didn't you say so earlier?"
I feel a little bit resentful that this solution was not proposed earlier.
"No, how can we pray for the souls of the dead so late at night? Is this praying for the souls of the dead or inviting ghosts? But with this formation, we won't be blinded by ghosts."
It's better to have some solution than to just sit there and do nothing. I'll go over and help my cousin put up the flag.
While setting up the formation, my cousin looked up at the sky and took out a compass from his pocket , which looked quite realistic.
Soon, a heptagonal formation was set up.
My cousin lit a cigarette and said to me proudly, "This is the formation based on the arrangement of the Seven Stars and the Big Dipper. Once we perform the ritual of salvation at dawn, our work will be done."
I thought to myself, I don’t see what’s so powerful about this formation, so I asked my cousin what we should do now.
My cousin raised his eyebrows as if he was confident, took out a jar from his pocket, opened it, and saw all kinds of colorful rice inside. My cousin told me that these were cereals.
"Now we have to do the most important step, which is to clean the house."
My cousin told me that we need to spread grains on the floor of the house.
This method is used to drive away evil spirits. After sweeping all the houses clean, there will be no evil spirits. Then you can perform the ritual of salvation after dawn, and it will basically be successful.
Hearing him say that, I almost vomited blood. It turns out that we had put in so much effort before, and we must have already had a solution.
I resisted the urge to beat up my cousin and followed him back to the house with the grains.

There is no special technique involved, just sprinkle it evenly on the ground, but make sure no corner is left out.
My cousin didn't bring much grains, so we have to use them sparingly.
After sprinkling the first layer on the ground, my cousin and I were a little tired.
Looking at the rice all over the ground, I muttered, "Is that all?"
My cousin looked confident and said, "Don't worry, often the most brutal things only require the simplest methods."
But as soon as he finished speaking, his face changed.
Following his gaze, my eyes widened as well.
I saw a layer of rice in the living room, covered with densely packed black footprints, as if many people had stepped on it.
"Uncle, what's going on? There are so many dirty things in here?"
I subconsciously looked around. This was too horrible. We were surrounded by dirty things?
Although I can't see anything, the footprints are right in front of me.
There are probably dozens of footprints of various kinds!
Are there so many evil spirits in this house?
I was a little scared at once, feeling that danger was everywhere.
I kept asking my cousin what to do, but the most urgent thing now was to leave the house first, it was too dangerous here!
The ghost covered my eyes before, and there are so many footprints.
But I called my cousin several times and he didn't move at all. I had no choice but to go up and pull him.
My cousin still didn't move, and I was a little angry. When I looked at him, I was stunned.
My cousin stared at me with an extremely weird smile on his lips, which almost reached his ears.
Seeing him like this, I was immediately numb. My cousin laughed sinisterly, rushed towards me and knocked me to the ground.
I vaguely saw that there seemed to be dozens of shadows swaying behind him!
His hands were tightly around my neck, and I felt suffocated for a moment.
I got angry too and started beating my cousin madly, but he seemed to be unaware of the pain and had no reaction at all, just holding me tightly.
My hand scraped on the ground and blood came out, dripping onto my cousin's face.
I saw my cousin shudder, and finally some rationality returned to his eyes.
"Your blood can ward off evil?"
My cousin exclaimed, and after making sure that he was okay, I quickly dragged him into the yard.
In the yard, my cousin was muttering.
"There's something wrong with your blood. It could only be the old lady who did it."
Could it be that grandma wasn't trying to kill me before, but was protecting me?
Just as I was thinking about this, my cousin tried to go back into the house again, and I quickly grabbed him.
My cousin waved his hand at me and said, "It's okay, nephew. I was just luring the snake out of its hole and letting the ghost possess me on purpose."
I rolled my eyes at him and thought to myself, I don’t trust you at all.
But my cousin still resolutely returned to the house. This time nothing happened to him. Instead, he took out the paper figure of the woman and set it on fire in the southeast corner of the yard.
I saw the paper man seemed to be alive, waving at me in the fire. I was so scared for a moment.
At this time, the sky was getting brighter. My cousin looked at the ashes left by the burnt paper man and sneered, "I understand. This is a place to raise corpses!"
