Chapter 3 Clues
The cannery was raided and blocked by the police, resulting in the loss of some processed or even unprocessed meat.
During these few days, the meat, which had been exposed to the sun, had completely deteriorated and was emitting a foul smell, which was the smell flies liked the most. Therefore, countless flies were attached to it, and some of the deteriorated meat even had wriggling worms growing in it.
Buzz!
As soon as Wang Zheng stepped into the cannery, he startled the flies attached to the meat. Countless flies kept circling around him in the air, flapping their wings and making loud noises.
"This is a processing site, but not a crime scene." Wang Zheng said to himself. After entering the scene, he keenly grasped the problem.
There is no doubt that based on the review of case materials along the way, we can know for sure that the canned food eaten by the criminals has only one processing point in City B. All the meat is processed and packed here, and then sent to the supermarket for sale.
Wang Zheng was silent for a long time, and finally took a step and walked up to a dead pig hanging on a hook.
Everything at the scene was enough to indicate that the cannery employees left in a hurry, probably because of the sudden visit of the police.
On the ground where the dead pig was hanging, there lay quietly a sharp knife covered with blood and rust. Several large flies were resting on the blade. Comparing it with the scar on the pig's neck that cut off the artery and trachea, it was not difficult to infer that this was a common tool used for slaughtering pigs.
Of course, in addition to the scars on the neck, the pig also had wounds on its body. There were some marks of being burned by high temperature on its back, and some of its hair was curled up and smelled burnt. Turning to the front of it, it could be seen clearly that a long cut had been made in its abdomen, with half of its internal organs exposed and a small part of its intestines in a basin on the ground.
The basin should be the container used to temporarily store internal organs.
"Remove the hair, cut its throat, and then open its abdomen, so that we can get the internal organs with their shapes preserved intact." Wang Zheng seemed to have discovered something, and his eyes were a little excited.
"I'm a butcher. Oh, no, I'm an employee."
Wang Zheng closed his eyes and took light steps. The scenes inside the cannery were engraved in his mind. As he closed his eyes, a picture of the cannery appeared in his mind.
He bent down gently and picked up a sharp knife on the ground.
"Before killing any animal, you need to bleed it first. You have to make sure the animal is dead. Otherwise, if a dying animal starts struggling, one person won't be able to control it."
As Wang Zheng spoke, he took a step forward, stood in front of a dead pig, gently raised the knife, and strangled the dead pig's neck, stretching it fully and exerting force, and bulging veins appeared on the back of his hand.
"Get ready for the next step. Don't delay, otherwise you won't be able to finish the work!" Wang Zheng said to the air.
As he spoke, he raised his right hand, held the sharp knife sideways and pressed it tightly against his fingers. With a puff, he stabbed it fiercely into the pig's neck. Then he cut hard along the lines on his palm, but the uncontrollable tip of the knife cut his thumb.
"kindness?"
Wang Zheng opened his eyes and stared blankly at the wound on his left thumb. Blood continued to seep , dripping onto the floor, and flowing together drop by drop.
"Wang Zheng! Are you okay?"
Gu Xia and others who had been watching from a distance happened to catch the scene of Wang Zheng cutting his finger, and they all ran up at once.
"The instruments here are very dirty! The rust on the knife will cause your tetanus, and the blood rust has more infectious diseases. You are too reckless!" Bai Ling did not care about the unpleasant smell around her, and immediately took out the medical kit she carried with her and began to suture Wang Zheng's wound.
"Stupid!" Gao Feng's expression was also unhappy.
This was the first day the task force officially started working, and they hadn't found any useful clues yet, and already someone was injured. It wasn't a good sign no matter how you looked at it.
"The furnishings here are the same as you saw that day..." Gu Xia said this and looked at Huamei. Seeing that the other party's face was still cold, he spoke again: "It's very different from what you imagined. It's more spacious, not as narrow as you imagined."
"Nonsense, how can we work if the place for slaughtering pigs is not made more spacious?" Gao Feng frowned.
"Tetanus... spacious." Wang Zheng lowered his head blankly, looking at his wound that had been sutured by Bai Ling. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, "This canning factory is close to the highway and far away from the city. Does it have a shuttle bus to provide commuting services for employees?"
"No." Gao Feng looked at Wang Zheng as if he were an idiot and continued, "This canning factory is a small private enterprise. I took a statement from the factory director when I came here. He is so poor that he is about to piss his pants. The profit of the canning factory can only cover his daily expenses. How can he provide any benefits to his employees?"
"Where do the employees live?" Wang Zheng asked.
"There are only a few households left in the bungalows about 15 minutes' walk from us that are going to be demolished," Gao Feng recalled.
"good!"
Wang Zheng waved his hand and said with a smile: "How about this, we split up into two groups. Gao Feng, you take Bai Ling and Hua Mei to the Municipal Bureau to take statements from the cannery employees, and Professor Gu and I will go to the bungalow to take a look."
"Why me?" Gao Feng looked a little unhappy. "Aren't my skills more suitable for field work? I can beat ten of them."
"You're going back because you can beat ten people." Wang Zheng said with a wry smile, "The police's usual interrogation personnel are definitely not as intimidating as you. And I heard that you're the best student in the Capital Police Academy. I think you're definitely better at interrogation than us."
"I like what you said." Gao Feng agreed to Wang Zheng's request, but pointed at Huamei and asked, "What about them?"
"I heard on the road that Bai Ling is the best forensic doctor. If there are new clues, we can test them immediately. As for Hua Mei..." Wang Zheng paused, "She is the best psychologist. With her help, you can know whether the other party is lying!"
"Okay, I agree!" Gao Feng looked at Wang Zheng again with some appreciation in his eyes.
"What about you guys?" Gu Xia looked at Huamei and asked.
"Do I have any choice?" Huamei looked at Gu Xia and shrugged indifferently.
"I have no objection." Bai Ling nodded seriously, then looked at Wang Zheng in embarrassment and said, "But although I have treated his wound urgently, we must find a nearby hospital to give him a tetanus shot."
"Don't worry, there is a clinic not far from the bungalow. I can go there to get the vaccine." Wang Zheng waved the map on his phone. It turned out that he had already searched the map before Bai Ling finished speaking.
"That's settled then, see you then!" Gu Xia clapped his hands, turned around and called Wang Yongchang.
Soon, the car prepared by the police drove to the cannery and picked up Gao Feng and other two people. As for Wang Zheng and Gu Xia, after discussing it for a while, the two decided to walk there and contact them later.
"Why did we send these three away?" Gu Xia couldn't help but ask with a lot of doubts while walking on the road.
He had seen clearly before that Wang Zheng did not really want Gao Feng to take a statement. His real purpose was to conduct an on-site investigation in the bungalow. However, he did not know what the other party's purpose was.
"Gao Feng is too impulsive, and Bai Ling is too curious. Unless we find a useful scene, it is easy to cause conflict if we bring them both along. And I'm not sure if what I see is accurate." Wang Zheng said.
"What did you see?" Gu Xia was very curious .
"I saw the shadow of that diner, but he is most likely not an employee of this cannery. Or maybe he is, but he is doing some unimportant job." Wang Zheng said solemnly.
"How can you be sure?"
"Because of this." Wang Zheng shook his left hand and said with a smile: "It's easy to imitate a crime and imagine the method, but it's hard to actually do it. I have carefully observed the wounds of those pigs. They were undoubtedly killed by a knife in the neck. I think Gao Feng will interrogate an old master at that time, because there are too many things to deal with after killing the pigs. A novice can't support a cannery."
"Moreover, an old master who has to kill several pigs every day cannot enjoy that kind of pleasure. Killing will only make him sick." Gu Xia seemed to understand something.
"That's right." Wang Zheng nodded and said, "He must be a novice who is not valued in the canning factory. In addition, he has a certain amount of life experience and may have received training in catering, but he has never been exposed to blood. He needs the stimulation of blood and delicious food!"
"Good, the criminal potential is revealed." Gu Xia rubbed his palms together, and as he spoke, his eyes burst out with excitement that was not befitting of his age.
