Chapter 23 Resentment
Chapter 23 Resentment
In the next few games, Cheng Wenjun lived up to expectations and drank a few more drinks.
By the end, he was almost delirious and could only count the dice mechanically.
Although Shen Boyan drank a lot, he was still sober. But Meng Xinqiao and Fang Shengyun seemed to have experienced hundreds of battles, with calm expressions and ease.
The more he played, the more frightened Shen Boyan became.
According to the rules of the game, the further you go in a round, the greater the possibility of not being able to select the right number.
The game initially starts with him. In each subsequent round, as if they had been discussed, the number of dice was basically very small when it was Cheng Wenjun's turn. Is it a coincidence? No.
"That's it for today." Fang Shengyun didn't rush to kill them all, but stopped at the right time.
He looked at Meng Xinqiao: "Add contact information?"
"Of course." Meng Xinqiao smiled generously and took out his mobile phone.
When Shen Boyan saw Cheng Wenjun almost lying on the table, he helped him up in a humanitarian spirit.
"Who are you?" Cheng Wenjun suddenly asked in a hoarse voice.
"I'm Shen Boyan." Shen Boyan replied without turning his head.
Cheng Wenjun suddenly struggled. "Don't move." Shen Boyan frowned, "What are you going to do?"
The two people over there felt the movement here. Meng Xinqiao looked at the two of them and asked, "Is Professor Shen okay? Do you need our help to send him back?"
"No." Shen Boyan shook his head, "Thank you, I can do it myself."
He asked Cheng Wenjun Putting his arm on his shoulders, he helped Cheng Wenjun stand up. But Cheng Wenjun was taller than him, and his legs were dragging limply on the ground, so he didn't move at all.
"Let me help." Meng Xinqiao hurriedly stepped forward to hold Cheng Wenjun's other side.
Cheng Wenjun was then firmly helped up. Shen Boyan glanced at Meng Xinqiao, and realized belatedly that even though this man had a somewhat cold and delicate face, he had broad shoulders and a broad back, and was as tall as Cheng Wenjun.
"I won't accompany you anymore," Fang Shengyun stood up, "It's still early."
He chuckled: "Cheng Wenjun, this guy is still as bad as always."
"Then let's go first." Shen Boyan said to Fang Sheng Yun said.
"See you later." Fang Shengyun smiled at the three of them.
Shen Boyan and Meng Xinqiao supported Cheng Wenjun and walked out of the bar. In the dim light, he looked back at Fang Shengyun.
But he couldn't find anyone - Fang Shengyun had disappeared into the crowd in the bar and was nowhere to be seen. ...
Cheng Wenjun hung on Shen Boyan and Meng Xinqiao without making any sound, as if he was asleep.
"It's so heavy." Meng Xinqiao still had the energy to tease Shen Boyan, "I can hardly move it."
"I'm sorry for bothering you today." Shen Boyan thanked her.
"I drink the least." Meng Xinqiao said openly, "I should."
Adhering to the concept of sending Buddha to the West, Meng Xinqiao helped Shen Boyan send Cheng Wenjun into the room.
After putting Cheng Wenjun on the bed, Meng Xinqiao said goodbye to Shen Boyan: "Bye, Professor Shen, see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow." Shen Boyan waved to him and closed the door.
The door closed with a bang. As soon as Shen Boyan turned his head, he suddenly saw Cheng Wenjun, who was originally lying on the bed, sitting up.
His face was stained red with drunkenness, and his eyes were particularly dark. In the quiet guest room, it actually seemed a little strange.
"Cheng Wenjun?" Shen Boyan held his hand on the doorknob and paused.
Cheng Wenjun said nothing and looked directly at Shen Boyan.
The sound of the waves came through the half-open window. Shen Boyan took a deep breath and asked, "Are you still awake?"
Cheng Wenjun still didn't answer and only moved his neck, as if he had finally regained some control over his body.
The room fell silent again.
Shen Boyan looked at Cheng Wenjun and took a step forward.
"I really want to ask you why you suddenly became like this." He lowered his eyes and looked condescendingly at the top of Cheng Wenjun's hair.
Cheng Wenjun's hair is thick and soft, sticking gently to his forehead. It was exactly the same as how he felt before.
"It was obviously not like this before, so why did you change when you returned to China?" Shen Boyan said softly.
"Why?"
He deliberately emphasized his tone.
"...Why?" Cheng Wenjun suddenly raised his head.
His voice was hoarse than it had been in the bar.
"Why, do you still think the former Cheng Wenjun was good?"
Shen Boyan frowned and replied calmly: "Yeah."
The word "um" seemed to poke something at Cheng Wenjun, and his expression changed, suddenly ferocious. got up.
"Sure enough, sure enough you just like him...him...what's so good about him? Why does everyone think he is a good person?" Him? Why him?
Rather than some other pronoun?
Shen Boyan's heart instantly stirred up a storm. It was like a huge stone hitting the lake, splashing with majestic water, and then slowly sinking to the bottom of the lake. The dust has settled.
'Cheng Wenjun' is not Cheng Wenjun.
But before he could digest this shocking fact, Cheng Wenjun spoke again.
He stared at Shen Boyan, his dark and innocent eyes showing such strong malice that it almost turned into reality.
"You are so disgusting... Shen Boyan."
A happy smile filled the corners of his mouth.
"No wonder...no wonder you are just Cheng Wenjun's 'ordinary friend'."...
After leaving Shen Boyan and Cheng Wenjun's room, Meng Xinqiao did not return to his room, but came to the deck.
The lights of the cruise ship illuminated a small area of the sea, but most of the area within sight was as dark as an abyss.
The strong sea breeze blew his hair away. The black shirt made him almost blend into the night. He narrowed his eyes, put his hands in his pockets, and stood quietly on the edge of the railing.
"Want one?" Fang Shengyun appeared again at some point and handed Meng Xinqiao a cigarette familiarly.
Meng Xinqiao didn't answer.
"Sorry, Mr. Fang." He smiled slightly, "I don't smoke."
"Oh." Fang Shengyun took the cigarette in his mouth in a good-natured manner.
He was also standing on the edge of the railing, with the coat he was originally wearing hung loosely on his arms.
Meng Xinqiao said "Sorry" again, then withdrew his gaze and looked quietly at the dark sea.
"It's really a pleasure to cooperate today." Fang Shengyun said suddenly.
"Really?" Meng Xinqiao looked back with a surprised expression, "I'm just lucky, Mr. Fang."
The lighter made a "click" sound, and the orange flames illuminated the dark sea. Smoke curled up, but neither of them spoke.
"You don't like Shen Boyan's lover?" Fang Shengyun exhaled smoke.
"Of course not." Meng Xinqiao shook his head and said, "Mr. Cheng and I just met for the first time today. How
can we like or hate him?" "Mr. Fang, there is no need to preset a position for me."
Fang Shengyun shrugged noncommittally. "Just say so."
He asked again: "No offense - Mr. Meng, do you want to pursue Shen Boyan?"
"Ah? No." Meng Xinqiao laughed almost instantly and said, "Mr. Fang , you misunderstood. Professor Shen and I are just acquaintances, and our relationship is not that complicated."
Fang Shengyun chuckled.
Meng Xinqiao retracted her expression without any emotion. He looked at the waves hitting the cruise ship again: "Mr. Fang, I'm going back first, excuse me."
"Bye." Fang Shengyun waved his hand.
Meng Xinqiao turned and left. He walked along the corridor, passing through the howling sea wind.
Upstairs is the guest room area. While walking, he suddenly stopped under a certain room.
He raised his head and looked at the edge of the unlit window.
After a while, the lights suddenly came on. Under the bright light, Meng Xinqiao curled her lower lips.
He no longer smiled his gentle smile.
Meng Xinqiao's lips moved slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end nothing came out.
He stopped there for a long time, then suddenly laughed, turned around and returned to the boat.
