Chapter 22 Solving the Case
Chapter 22: Solving the Case
When Fang Qing opened her eyes again, it was already noon the next day. The sunlight outside the window made her dizzy. She closed her eyes for a long time before slowly adjusting to the light inside the room.
The snow-white ceiling, the dripping IV drip, and the branches swaying in the wind outside the window gradually made Fang Qing wake up.
Was she saved?
It should be. In her previous dreams, she always felt a warm embrace surrounding her. She also seemed to hear the voices of Wen Ning and Wen Ling. I just don’t know how they found me...
They are indeed my benefactors.
Fang Qing thought, a faint smile appeared on her lips, but she accidentally stretched the wound on her head.
"Hiss..." It hurt quite a bit.
"Girl, are you awake?" The eldest brother heard the sound beside the bed and looked up suddenly. Seeing Fang Qing awake, he immediately ran out excitedly.
"Doctor! Nurse! My sister is awake! My sister is awake!"
Fang Qing wanted to laugh at her brother's reaction, but she also frowned because of the headache.
"Doctor, my sister is frowning! Is there something wrong?"
"Doctor, my sister is afraid of pain, please be gentle when you give her the injection..."
"Doctor, my sister..."
No matter how good-tempered the doctor was, he couldn't bear it anymore and asked the nurse to push Fang Ming out. Only then did the ward become quiet.
The doctor was a young woman. She asked Fang Qing a few simple questions and examined her, confirming that she had no other problems except a mild concussion. "No problems have been found yet. Rest well these few days and don't do strenuous exercise. Observe for a few more days."
After the doctor gave Fang Qing instructions, she let Fang Ming, who had been waiting outside the door , in. "Your sister is fine, but the patient needs quiet, so you'd better pay attention.
" Fang Ming was given a cold look by the doctor. He scratched his head awkwardly and smiled foolishly. He hurriedly sent the doctor out of the ward, then closed the door and walked back. "Girl, how do you feel? Does it still hurt?"
Fang Qing shook her head slightly, but such a slight movement made her dizzy. She could only open her mouth to comfort her brother, "I'm fine, brother, how was I rescued?"
Speaking of this, Fang Ming became energetic and told Fang Qing vividly how the Wen Ning siblings discovered that she was missing, how they organized their classmates to look for her everywhere in the school, and finally how they found her dying behind the auditorium.
Fang Ming then said seriously, "Because your injury is on the back of your head, it's clearly a blow. So, after we took you to the hospital, Mom and Wen Ning went to the police station to report it. Mom was at the police station taking a statement yesterday, so I stayed with you all night."
Fang Qing smiled weakly at this. "Thank you for your hard work, brother! I've troubled you again."
Fang Ming glared at her in mock anger. "Nonsense again! You're my sister, and taking care of you—isn't that what a brother should do? By the way, are you hungry? Want something to eat?"
Fang Qing had just woken up, still feeling nauseous from the blow to the head. She drank some water and fell back into a deep sleep.
This time, her dream was no longer a wasteland and a cold wind. In a warm, soft light, Fang Qing saw a beautiful hand leading her into a sea of flowers...
Fang Qing's attack had attracted considerable attention at school. School officials believed that the repeated attacks on students in such a sacred place as the campus reflected a failure in their students' ideological education.
The next day, the principal issued an urgent holiday ideological education task force, directing each class teacher to go door to door to deliver the school's directive: All students at Jingtan No. 1 Middle School were required to complete not only their academic assignments in all subjects during the winter break, but also three self-reflection essays. Furthermore, students were prohibited from participating in illegal activities involving undesirable individuals. Any student found guilty of misconduct would face a warning at the very least, or expulsion at the most serious.
Fang Qing recuperated in the hospital for a few days and was successfully discharged home. Although her injuries appeared serious at first, they were merely bleeding, and fortunately, there were no lasting effects.
However, Fang Qing's repeated encounters with these dangerous situations over the past six months worried her parents. Even the grandmother, who usually showed little concern for the second wife of the Fang family, came to visit Fang Qing and insisted on taking her to the temple to pay her respects.
With the Lunar New Year approaching, Fang Qing's mother's family, Liujiagou, was holding their annual ancestral worship ceremony. Recalling a temple in the mountains above their hometown, Fang Qing's mother, once Fang Qing had regained her mobility, took the siblings back to Liujiagou.
...
Jingtan County Ronghua Street Police Station.
Zhao Shuang sat in the interrogation room, looking calmly at the officer across from her. "Uncle Police, I really don't know why Fang Qing was there, and I don't even know her. I have no need or reason to harm her, right?"
The officer looked at her calmly, "Student Zhao Shuang, we're asking you where you were and what you did on the day of the incident. Please don't dodge the question and answer honestly."
Before high school, Zhao Shuang often hung out with thugs and had been to police a few times, so she wasn't afraid of the police. She leaned back in her chair, relaxed, and looked nonchalant.
"Even if I told you, you wouldn't believe me. How would I know why Fang Qing was knocked unconscious? You police officers can't force a confession out of me, can you? Besides, I'm still a minor, so I'm not legally responsible."
Upon hearing this, the officers exchanged glances and played a recording.
"Uncle police, this isn't what we're supposed to do. It's Sister Shuang! She likes senior Wen Ning from the second year of high school, and Fang Qing is close to Wen Ning, so she wanted us to find an opportunity to teach Fang Qing a lesson. But Fang Qing is usually too cautious. Apart from attending classes, eating, and sleeping, she doesn't go anywhere else. So during this general cleanup, Sister Shuang contacted the student union and deliberately assigned Fang Qing to a remote auditorium, then asked us to go over and teach her a lesson.
But I didn't beat him up, it was Xiaohong! She was the one who said she buried him, and I tried to persuade her, but they wouldn't listen! Uncle police, I've confessed everything, just let me go..."
As the recording played, Zhao Shuang, who was sitting on the chair, gradually became nervous from her initial indifference. When she heard these people say that she had ordered them to do so, she could no longer sit still.
"They're talking nonsense! This has nothing to do with me! I didn't arrange it!"
But the interrogation chair restricted her movements, and she roared like a trapped animal.
The police slammed the table, his eyes like swords with a cold light, "Then tell me the truth, otherwise, even if you are a minor, we can still punish you!"
Zhao Shuang, who was crying and struggling, was frightened by the police's angry shout, and finally sat down honestly and told everything.
