Chapter 22 Destiny
Chapter 22 Destiny
After tonight, something has changed, and yet nothing seems to have changed.
"Aurelia, look ahead, is there a village?"
Selsi held Aurelia's hand. Aurelia had put on her disguise at this time, and her green eyes looked ahead. "Yes, we should be out of the oasis soon."
The two hurried to the village. The villagers were very hospitable and enthusiastically traded some supplies with the travelers from afar.
Selsi took out the map and asked passers-by, then turned to Aurelia and said, "We can get out in another kilometer."
Selsi was very excited. After walking in this oasis for so long, she could finally reach the next place. Aurelia touched her head. The closer she got to Arthurton, the more obvious the throbbing in her heart became. She cherished her current life very much. If she returned to that place, she didn't know if she could continue now.
Selsi held Aurelia's hand tightly. Without saying a word, Aurelia understood what she meant.
As the two were about to leave the village, a two-color roulette wheel that suddenly appeared in the village attracted Selsi. She stood in front of the roulette wheel, and an old man appeared at the right time. He was wearing a gray, shabby robe with patches all over it. "I saw the fate of the two of you," the old man said a little crazy.
Selsi became curious, "Oh? Then tell me what our future is."
The old man said nothing, just turned the roulette wheel. The rapidly rotating vortex sucked Selsi's soul in. She saw that she was still wandering alone, with a gentle smile on her face, but she no longer had the spirit of the past, and she was more lonely.
Aurelia was originally studying this thing, but unexpectedly the old man suddenly turned the roulette wheel. Before she could look away, her soul was also attracted. She saw that she had succeeded in revenge and became the new duke, holding great power and being an aristocrat among aristocrats. She saw that she was sinking into the game of power, and ended up with a death without a complete body.
The turntable slowly stopped, and the two came to their senses.
"Impossible!" Selsi retorted. How could she look so helpless? She had never been so sad when facing a crisis alone before.
Aurelia was more direct: "Playing tricks." She didn't believe that she would end up with a torn body, and she didn't believe that the person who said he would always be with her left her.
She took Selsi's hand and left directly. Selsi agreed with Aurelia's words and followed Aurelia in a sullen manner.
The old man did not stop the two of them. He looked at their backs as they left and said to himself: "The wheel of fortune will not lie. Everything has been predetermined."
Selsi and Aurelia did not notice that despite such strange behavior, no one in the village looked over here. They did not look back, so they did not know that after they left, the figures of the old man and the roulette wheel disappeared in the small village in an instant. Only the concave marks on the ground proved what had existed here.
Selsi and Aurelia walked very fast, as if if they walked faster, the disguised fate would not catch up with them.
They didn't ask what the other party saw. "It's all fake." Selsi comforted Aurelia, fearing that she would be affected by the false fate.
"I'm fine, I'm fine." Aurelia smiled, "It's too fake, you will always be with me, right?" She held Selsi's hand tightly.
"Of course," Selsi assured her, "no doubt." Selsi guessed that she should be in the other party's illusion. They are close friends, how could she abandon her?
