Chapter 21 Summer Vacation
Time flies like a white horse, and in the blink of an eye it is already the end of June.
The weather in Tokyo is getting hotter and summer vacation will begin in a week or two. The students are all talking enthusiastically about their plans for the summer vacation.
Summer music festivals, beer houses, fireworks displays, beach houses, and amusement parks are all popular activities.
"Shirakawa-kun, do you have any plans for the summer vacation? Do you want to go to Kanagawa with us to participate in the guitar club's training?"
Asuka Kobayashi walked naturally to the empty seat next to Shirakawa Kaede with a book and sat down.
After a few months of getting along, she and Baichuan Feng have become very familiar with each other. Like everyone else, she and Baichuan Feng first discussed their summer vacation plans.
Baichuan Feng rubbed his forehead with a pen and said in distress, "No, I have to work part-time during the summer vacation (actually picking up rags). I also plan to use the vacation to get my driver's license."
"Oh, so that's the case. That's a pity." Asuka Kobayashi felt a little disappointed. The hot weather made her pick up the book on the desk and fan herself hard.
The extremely fast airflow blew her long hair at the temples into the wind, and she turned her eyes and paid attention again.
"Since we can't go to the training camp, we must not miss the weekly guitar club practice. At the end of the year, we have to put together a program to perform at the New Year's Festival. This is something that President Ito fought hard for, and we absolutely cannot be left behind!"
"Okay then. I'll do my best." Baichuan Feng nodded helplessly. This summer vacation was packed with plans. Why did it feel even busier than usual?
Besides, with my mediocre guitar skills, I am no match for performing on stage.
However, since he has joined the guitar club, he cannot stay out of it and refuse to participate in any activities of the club. Shirakawa Feng does not want to leave others with the impression that he is unsociable and withdrawn, which is not in line with his personality.
Kobayashi Asuka showed a smug expression, her big eyes rolling around. Her white and tender hands holding the book fanned more and more diligently.
Feeling the fresh fragrance of a young girl brought by the breeze, Baichuan Feng smiled and thought, it’s great to be young.
Kobayashi Asuka is from Fukuoka. Unlike Shirakawa Kaede's impression of southerners with wheat-colored skin, Kobayashi Asuka's skin is surprisingly white and tender, especially her big eyes, which are always sparkling.
Fukuoka is worthy of being the first of the "three beauties". Any girl from her is enough to beat most of the girls in Shirakawa Kaede's class.
However, the summer vacation arrangements that Shirakawa Kaede and Kobayashi Asuka mentioned were not just for fun. They were really planning to do so. Needless to say, scavenging was now his only source of income, so it must be his top priority.
He had also planned to apply for a driver's license long ago. To obtain a driver's license in RB, one must be at least 18 years old. He just happened to meet the requirement this month, otherwise he might have signed up two months ago.
He planned to apply for a driver's license for Kotaro as well. It would be a necessary skill in the future, so he might as well get it done in one go this time.
The tuition fee for getting a driver's license in RB is about 200,000 to 300,000 yen, which is not cheap for ordinary people.
But who can afford a car nowadays would lack this little money. Otherwise, they are drivers who make a living from this, but the company will subsidize most of their tuition fees.
Fortunately, Baichuan Feng has made a lot of money in the past few months. His savings have exceeded three digits, in tens of thousands of yen.
He estimated that it would be more than enough to cover the four years of university tuition and living expenses.
I don’t know if it’s Baichuan Feng’s illusion, but he feels that he has almost no competitors in the business of dealing in second-hand goods.
Is it that Japanese people have enough money in their pockets and don't bother to earn those lousy bucks? Or is it because there are too few people doing this job and I haven't come across them?
He was too lazy to think about it, as long as this income could sustain him until he graduated from college. With the first start-up capital in hand, he didn't care about the flood in the future.
Of course, before entering the joyful summer vacation, RB students cannot escape the hurdle of final exams.
As exam week approaches, the library is still crowded with students who are cramming for the exam. No matter how well I have studied this semester, only the library can comfort my anxious heart. Then I pray for good luck, and now I focus on the content of the exam.
However, Shirakawa Kaede, who majored in business administration, did not feel too nervous because the final exam was divided into two forms: a written test and a short essay.
What is very reassuring is that the written examination in business administration only accounts for a small part, and most of it is thesis reports assigned by the professor.
This is much more friendly, looking up information, writing reports. It is a completely different mood from facing the test paper.
Yamashita Daiji, who lives in a different dormitory, was lying on the table, scratching his head and doing homework, while Shirakawa Kaede was leisurely drinking iced soda and flipping through a book.
"Shirakawa-kun, could you please not be so loud when drinking soda? It's really too much." After saying that, Yamashita Daiji's throat rolled uncontrollably twice.
Baichuan Feng showed a comfortable expression as if nothing had happened, picked up the Coke beside him and shook it towards him, "Would you like a cup?"
Upon hearing this, Yamashita Daiji immediately put down his pen and ran over happily, saying, "You are so polite, hehe."
Baichuan Feng rolled his eyes and chatted with him casually. "What are your plans for the summer vacation, Yamashita-kun?"
"Maybe I'll go work. I don't want to go back to my hometown. It's too hot. Tokyo is cooler."
Yamashita Daiji's hometown is Okinawa, where winter is about the same as early summer in Tokyo. As for summer, you can imagine it.
"Shijiro is the more comfortable guy. He is going to Hokkaido for vacation with his girlfriend during the summer vacation." Yamashita Daiji did not hide the envy in his eyes. It was a pity that a robot dog like him would feel shy when talking to girls.
Kiryu Juichiro, who was sitting in meditation under the eaves outside, moved slightly. Shirakawa Kaede knew that this guy seemed to be in deep meditation on the surface, but who knows how proud he was in his heart.
Baichuan Feng, who was sitting by the window, turned around and shouted, "Hey, Shiyilang. Did you and your girlfriend hit a home run?"
Kiryu Juichiro, who was meditating, could no longer maintain his meditation posture and broke down in a second, "Baka~, how can you be so vulgar? Keiko and I have a pure platonic love, Platonic love! Do you understand?"
Baichuan Feng took a sip of soda and nodded, "I see, it turns out there isn't one yet."
Kiryu Jiro was furious and simply turned around to continue meditating. He swore that if he paid any attention to Shirakawa Kaede again, he would be a dog.
Daiji Yamashita, who was in the house, covered his mouth with his hands and shrugged his shoulders, trying hard to hold back his laughter.
"But speaking of part-time jobs, Yamashita-kun, I have a good job here. Would you like to consider it? The salary is excellent."
When Baichuan Feng thought of Yamashita Daiji's expertise, capitalist thoughts suddenly came to his mind.
"Eh, really? Is this what Shirakawa-kun has been doing this semester?"
Shirakawa Feng would go out whenever he had free time. Both of his roommates knew that he was working part-time to earn money, but they didn't know what he was doing. When he took the initiative to bring it up and invited himself, Yamashita Daiji also became interested.
Even Kiryu Juichiro, who was meditating on the balcony, almost couldn't help but want to join in the conversation, but he thought of the resolution he had just made and held back, but his ears pricked up.
"Of course, it's easy. At least it's absolutely no problem for Yamashita-kun."
"Be more specific?" Yamashita Daiji asked with curiosity.
"Hmm...it's related to electrical appliances. With Yamashita-kun's hands-on ability, it should be more than enough to handle it."
Shirakawa Feng had wanted to find help for a long time, but there was no one around except Kotaro. Just now, Yamashita Daiji mentioned part-time job, and Shirakawa Feng thought it was reliable, after all, it was a professional match.
Now he is 18 years old, although he has not yet reached the legal age of 20. But it should be no problem to register a company.
He wanted to expand his scrap picking business and use it as a transition period for future transformation.
