Chapter 2 The mysterious man who can't be let go 4
The day to go to the laboratory for class finally arrived. My ears had already become callused from Hongze’s constant nagging.
Taking advantage of the fact that the lab was close to the cafeteria, the students rushed out like wild horses when the bell rang. No one noticed me and Zhou Mian who were left behind. We put on a good student face and acted harmless. The teacher just said "Remember to lock the door" and left.
After exchanging glances with Zhou Mian, we tacitly slipped into the material preparation room next door. I was responsible for keeping watch at the door, while Zhou Mian was responsible for taking out the concentrated hydrochloric acid and concentrated nitric acid we needed from the top compartment of the material rack.
"Got it, let's go."
Back in the lab, Zhou Mian didn't let me do anything and started preparing aqua regia. I had no choice but to sit beside him and watch with the soul-binding cage.
“Okay, give me the Soul Binding Cage.” Yellow mist emerged from the experimental beaker, and Zhou Mian reached out to take the Soul Binding Cage.
"Let me do this." Although it was a statement, it was more of a request for Zhou Mian's consent. After thinking for a long time, I still wanted to release Hongze myself.
Zhou Mian looked at me for a while, handed the tweezers to me, stepped back half a step, and made room for me.
After getting Zhou Mian's permission, I smiled, held my breath, and carefully held the Soul Binding Cage as I moved closer to the misty aqua regia.
"Go slower, and be careful not to get it on your skin!" Zhou Mian also stared at my hands nervously, not missing any tiny movements.
The little golden eagle was touched by the aqua regia little by little, and a burst of golden light appeared, forcing the aqua regia away. I was so surprised that my eyes widened. I actually forgot about the protective film of the soul-binding cage.
I was at my wits' end, thinking that wasting time like this was not a solution, but I couldn't think of any other solution. Suddenly, I felt a force coming out of the golden light. It was Hongze!
I didn't know what Hongze was doing. The Soul Binding Cage didn't move at all. I stared at it anxiously without moving my hand at all.
I don't know how long it took, but Hongze's power seemed to have won. A drop of aqua regia was introduced into the protective film, and a corner of the golden eagle slowly dissolved. I clearly felt the Soul Binding Cage vibrate.
Zhou Mian reacted quickly and turned my hand in a circle, away from the aqua regia, and placed the soul-binding cage on the table behind us.
I stared at the Soul Binding Cage intently, only to see it suddenly flip over and a puff of smoke came out. In just a blink of an eye, darkness enveloped my entire vision.
On the table, accompanied by light smoke, Hongze appeared just as I had seen in my dream, wearing a dark blue robe, with wide sleeves that fluttered in the wind, long black hair fluttering , and a glow all over his body. His height almost reached the ceiling, and I had to look up at him. His eyebrows were flying into his temples, his eyes were shining, and his thin lips revealed a satisfied smile.
Hongze opened his arms, turned around and looked at himself, as if he finally realized that there were other people. He narrowed his eyes slightly, looked down at me for a while, and then slowly said: "Human, are you the one who let me out?"
"My name is Fu Lingmiao, and this is Zhou Mian. We are the ones who released you." I raised my hand to rub my stiff neck and answered him neither humbly nor arrogantly.
"Just a human!" It was the familiar tone again. Hongze fiddled with his sleeves contemptuously. As if he remembered something, he frowned and looked down on the table and the floor.
I realized that he might be looking for the soul-binding cage, so I raised my finger to show him. Sure enough, when he saw the soul-binding cage on the table, his face suddenly became ferocious, and he raised his foot to kick the soul-binding cage away.
"Hey! Wait!"
I hurriedly reached out to catch the Soul Binding Cage that was kicked away. Although it did not bring me any happy memories, it still recognized me as its master.
"Hmm?" I looked around, but there was no trace of the Soul Binding Cage. Could it be that Hongze was so powerful that he destroyed the Soul Binding Cage in an instant? I curled my lips, feeling a little disappointed. I wanted to keep a souvenir.
Zhou Mian patted my shoulder and said hesitantly, "Where are the others?"
Others? I realized what I had overlooked. I looked back at the table. Hongze seemed to have never appeared. The Soul Binding Cage lay there motionless. The person was gone?
I was still confused, but I saw a puff of smoke coming out of the soul-binding cage again, and Hongze's figure flashed. Zhou Mian and I burst out laughing. Was Hongze just sucked in again?
Hongze stepped down from the table and looked at me expressionlessly. I quickly pursed my lips to hold back my laughter and blinked at him. I saw his eyes searching everywhere, not knowing what he was looking for. I hesitated whether to ask him after he glared at me just now.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up and he snatched the tweezers from my hand. Just when the tip of the tweezers touched the Soul Binding Cage for 0.01 seconds, I reacted and opened my mouth to remind him, but there was only air around me. The tweezers, which had lost their control, hit the table with a dull sound.
This was clearly not the first time, but the speed of its disappearance was beyond the reach of the eyes, and the distorted afterimage left by an incredible deformation still made me feel incredible when I saw it again.
Looking at the motionless soul-binding cage, I was a little confused: What kind of treasure is this soul-binding cage? Hongze can't touch it directly, and it can't touch it indirectly?
“Hahaha… I can’t hold it anymore… hahaha…” Zhou Mian behind me rubbed his stomach and laughed. I was trying to hold it back, but instantly I broke down and started laughing too.
"Hahaha..." Just when Zhou Mian and I were laughing uncontrollably, Hong Ze appeared for the third time with a dark face, accompanied by light smoke.
If looks could kill, Zhou Mian and I would have gone to heaven a hundred times already.
Hongze took a step towards me, and Zhou Mian pulled me behind him and stopped me sideways: "What are you doing? This is not something Lingmiao can... puff, control... hahahaha..."
Uh... I poked Zhou Mian speechlessly, you are clearly trying to cause trouble, hey!
"You! Come here!" Hongze ignored Zhou Mian, looked straight at me, and told me to come over in a commanding tone.
I subconsciously shrank my neck and reluctantly walked out from behind Zhou Mian, muttering, "I just let you out. Even if you want to destroy the bridge after crossing the river, you can't be so quick."
"What did you say?" Hongze raised his voice in dissatisfaction, "I just asked you to throw this thing away! Don't let it appear in my sight!"
"Huh..." I let out a small breath, feeling an inexplicable sense of relief after surviving a disaster. "Can I keep it away? I promise you won't see it."
Zhou Mian also came to help: "Since you are out, you can leave. Since this thing has recognized Lingmiao as its master, it should be left to Lingmiao to deal with."
How reasonable! I nodded, staring at Hongze's expression, and thought that no one could notice me. I reached out to cover the Soul Binding Cage and secretly held the Soul Binding Cage in my palm.
Hongze touched me tentatively with his fingertips. I froze and dared not move. Hongze was not sucked in like before. I secretly sighed, am I an insulator? Is it okay if I touch the spirit cage?
Hongze looked like he knew what I was thinking, and gave me a fake smile, then dragged me by the hand and walked me to the window. During the struggle, I saw Zhou Mian with an anxious expression on his face, standing there with one foot off the ground in a weird position, without any further action. He couldn't move!
"Even if you don't agree, you can just say it! Don't drag me! Why are you so close to the window? I shouted, I called for help, I really shouted!" I was not strong enough to compete with Hongze. I couldn't get rid of his hand no matter what. Seeing the window getting closer and closer to me, I panicked.
Hongze finally stopped one step away from the window. I panicked and let him manipulate my body. He turned me around so that I was facing the window, holding my shoulders with his left hand and pinching my wrist with his right hand.
I felt his breath slowly approaching and a layer of cold sweat broke out on my back.
He leaned over to my ear and whispered in a seductive voice: "Don't be afraid, relax. Listen to me, one, two, three!"
"Ah..." I closed my eyes tightly and screamed heartbreakingly.
"Are you a dummy?"
Hongze's angry voice went straight to my cerebral cortex. I took a deep breath. It didn't seem to hurt too much. I secretly opened my eyes slightly and found that I was still standing in front of the laboratory window. I let out a long breath and felt my heart pounding as if it would rush out in the next second. I gasped and patted my chest with my right hand to comfort myself.
Wait! Right hand?
I slowly lowered my head and looked at my outstretched right hand. The Soul Binding Cage? Was it the Soul Binding Cage that was thrown out? Not me?
"Lingmiao! Are you okay?" Zhou Mian rushed over from behind me and looked me up and down nervously, "I'm sorry, my body was completely out of control just now."
"I'm fine, I'm fine, I just got a little frightened." Looking at Zhou Mian who was blaming himself, I waved my hands quickly, "It's a pity that the Soul Binding Cage was thrown away... Eh? Where's Hongze?"
