Chapter 2: Settlement Begins with Sadness 02
I used to quarrel with Ning Qiyuan, and usually we would make up the next day after sleeping together and continue to hate and bicker with each other. But this time it was a little different, Ning Qiyuan hardly spoke to me, and even looked at me as unnecessary.
I also remembered the injury on my shoulder and ignored him. Although we were in a cold war, I still didn't dare not wash his clothes or cook for him. My father was busy with work and was basically not at home during the day, so he didn't pay much attention to such things. Seeing that Ning Qiyuan and I were so peaceful and had no conflicts, he thought I had changed my personality. During dinner, he praised me for the first time and asked me about filling in my application.
My grades have always been good. After the exam, I also estimated my score. Although it is still a little short of Tsinghua University and Peking University, it should be no problem for me to go to H University in the neighboring province. This way I can get rid of Ning Qiyuan.
After hearing my application, my dad didn't comment and asked Ning Qiyuan what he thought. Unexpectedly, he answered without blushing or even looking up: "I handed in a blank paper for the college entrance examination."
With a "crunch", my dad bit the chicken bone . He spat out the broken bones with a few "Puh" sounds and asked Ning Qiyuan in disbelief: "Qiyuan, are you serious?"
Ning Qiyuan didn't answer and concentrated on eating.
"All blank papers?"
Ning Qiyuan finished another bowl of rice and stood up to get another bowl.
My dad snatched his bowl and handed it to me, asking me to go and give Ning Qi Yuan Sheng some food. I pouted and took the bowl.
My dad continued to talk to him: "How can you hand in a blank paper? You can guess a few correct answers by filling in any random number. How can you go to college without any scores? Aren't you just kidding?"
This time my dad should be able to see Ning Qiyuan's true heart beneath his handsome appearance. Thinking of this, I suddenly felt excited and waited for my dad to continue scolding him.
However, I heard Ning Qiyuan answer my dad: "I don't plan to go to college."
I didn't expect that he would have such an idea, and I was stunned.
"If you don't go to college, what are you going to do?" My dad got even more anxious. "No, I can't let you do whatever you want. How can you joke about your future? You have to repeat your studies for another year."
Hearing this, I became a little excited. If he could really repeat his grade, then I could get rid of him! Just thinking about it made me feel that the future was infinitely bright.
However, if he could really follow the wishes of others, he would not be Ning Qiyuan.
"I won't repeat the year." Ning Qiyuan answered straightforwardly.
If he doesn't repeat, then he...
I couldn't guess what Ning Qiyuan was thinking. When I looked up, I happened to meet his inadvertent gaze. There was a depth in his eyes that I couldn't understand. Unconsciously, they overlapped with his that night. My face was unnaturally hot and I lowered my head in a hurry.
My father's words coincidentally resolved the invisible awkwardness at that moment: "So what do you want to do?" His tone was serious and solemn.
"I haven't thought about it yet." Ning Qiyuan answered without even thinking, as if he didn't care about his future at all.
I couldn't help but get angry again. Just as I was about to speak, my dad changed the subject and said, "Since you haven't made up your mind, let me help you think about it. No matter what, you still have to go to college."
I knew my dad would definitely make arrangements for Ning Qiyuan's future. Sure enough, a few days later, my dad told him to go to a private vocational school. Ning Qiyuan didn't object after hearing this, but only said that if he wanted to go, he would go to Li City. My dad nodded and agreed without saying anything, and then told me to fill in the university in Li City when filling out the application form. Ning Qiyuan and I can't stay in the same school, but we have to stay in the same city so that we can take care of each other.
It was me who took care of Ning Qiyuan, there was no such thing as mutual care. I wailed and retorted, I don't want to spend the next four years of college with Ning Qiyuan, and take care of him like a nanny!
My dad is too biased!
Is Ning Qiyuan his biological son or am I his biological son?
But no matter how hard I argued, my dad still ignored my wishes and gave me an ultimatum: "There is also a first-class university in Li City, which is not much worse than the H University you want to go to. If you don't choose the university in Li City, you will have to pay for the tuition and living expenses by yourself. I won't care."
I really want to slam the table and tell my dad in a tough manner that he doesn't care about it, but I don't have the confidence to do that now. Without tuition and living expenses, I can't go to any university.
