Chapter 2: Red Cheongsam Female Ghost 2. Find Su Wei

After Wu Yu and Yunyun waved goodbye to Xiaoqing, they came out holding Xishi umbrellas. At this time, it was still raining heavily, and the streets were deserted. They looked around at the houses and arch bridges in the town through the dim light. They found that the eaves were connected, and behind the eaves was a waterway with many quaint little boats swaying on it.
"Yu, if we weren't here to find out the mystery of Su Wei's mysterious letter, the water town in front of us would definitely be a beautiful picture." Yunyun held the Xi Shi umbrella in one hand and stroked Wu Yu's arm with the other.
"After we find out the truth, we can play in the town for a few days before going back. Then I can take pictures of the town's scenery and you can paint the water town's scenery." Wu Yu did not forget to bring his camera when he came out.
"That's what I was thinking, but I'm afraid we'll never find the truth about the mystery of the letter." Yunyun frowned as she spoke.
Wu Yu noticed that there were few pedestrians on the street, but the people who hurried past them looked at their Xishi umbrellas with amazement, and suddenly they became the dazzling light of the town. Wu Yu felt vaguely uneasy, as if this dead man's Xishi umbrella would bring them blood and misfortune.
Yunyun watched the rain slowly flowing down the edge of Xishi's umbrella, making a tiny dripping sound when it hit the ground.
They found the post office according to Xiaoqing's instructions, but it was deserted, with only one staff member. Due to the rain, the Ming and Qing dynasty building became even darker.
The employee was an elderly man, about fifty years old, wearing a pair of reading glasses. He was looking down at a newspaper, almost sticking the newspaper to his face. He seemed to hear footsteps, or felt someone coming in, so he raised his head lazily and stared at Wu Yu and Yunyun.
Yunyun saw through his glasses that he was looking her up and down with a dull expression on his face.
"You old pervert!" Yunyun cursed in her heart, but her eyes were looking around the post office.
Wu Yu stepped forward and handed him a five-leaf god, and he took it without hesitation. Wu Yu lit it for him, and he slowly said, "Send a letter?"
Wu Yu handed him Su Wei's letter and asked, "Can you help me check if this letter was sent from here?"
He glanced at it and muttered, "It was mailed from here. It was mailed on January 20, 2007. It's February now."
"Hey, big brother, I want to ask who was on duty that day? Does he know the person who sent the letter?"
"Sir, are you a policeman?" He suddenly looked at Wu Yu in confusion.
"No, we just want to know who sent the letter, because the letter was sent to me by a colleague of mine who died two years ago, so..."
After hearing this, he looked at Wu Yu in surprise, then murmured, "How is it possible?" Then he turned around and searched for something among a pile of letters.
He looked around for a while but didn't seem to find anything. He asked, "Where did he go?" He turned around and thought for a moment. Suddenly, he seemed to wake up and said to Wu Yu, "My colleague was at work that day, but he went home the day before yesterday. I heard that his father passed away. If you want to find him, you may have to wait a few more days."
Wu Yu wondered how this could be such a coincidence, and didn't know what to do for a moment. Yunyun suddenly interrupted and asked, "Do you have a phone number where I can find him?"
He thought for a moment and said, "I'll give you his phone number. See if you can find him. His hometown is far away in the mountains. I'm afraid there's no signal there. I wanted to find him yesterday for something, but I couldn't get through when I called him."
After Wu Yu received the phone number he wrote, he said goodbye and thanked him. When he went out, he saw that the rain had stopped, so Wu Yu tried to call the number he gave him, but as he said, he couldn't get through, and he felt that things were getting weirder and weirder.
Yunyun said: "It seems that we have to wait for the mysterious person to show up before we can ask him. Apart from this, is there any other way for us to find out the news about Su Wei?"
Wu Yu thought about it and agreed. He suddenly thought that they could go to the police station to inquire about the truth of Su Wei's death two years ago, so he told Yunyun his idea. Yunyun also thought it was a good idea, so they walked out of the post office together and walked towards the street.
They found out the location of the police station, which was near Mao Dun's former residence in Wuzhen. They just had to walk west along the small street they were on to the end, and then cross the stone arch bridge, and they would be able to see it.
When they arrived, they found the police station was as deserted as the post office. There was only a thin woman in police uniform typing on the computer. Her thin white fingers banged on the keyboard as fast as a machine. Yunyun called out softly, "Excuse me..." As soon as she finished speaking, the female police officer slowly turned around. When they saw her, they couldn't help but sigh in their hearts. It turned out that the female police officer was so thin that she was just skin and bones.
The policewoman asked, "Excuse me, is there anything I can help you with?" Her voice was so low that it seemed to come from underground.
Yunyun said timidly, "We are from Guangzhou. We want to ask you about the death of a man named Su Wei who also came from Guangzhou two years ago."
"The station has been replaced. The previous staff have been transferred out of Zhejiang. I am the oldest female police officer here, and I was only transferred here a year and a half ago. So I am afraid I can't help you."
After hearing this, they wondered how this could be such a coincidence. Wu Yu thought for a moment and said, "Can you help me find the death file of someone named Su Wei from two years ago?"
She suddenly fell into deep thought, and after a while she said, "This is a case within the institute, nothing will be leaked, not to mention your identities..."
"My name is Li Yunyun, and his name is Wu Yu. I am an unknown painter, and he is a photographer, working in Guangzhou." Yunyun introduced them while handing her his ID card.
After reading it, she was half-believing and half-doubting, and then she said, "How about this, I will report this matter to Zhejiang first, and then let you know what they think. Please leave your phone number."
Wu Yu and Yun Yun looked at each other and felt that this matter was becoming more and more difficult to handle. However, since she said so, they had no other choice but to wait for her news. Yun Yun wrote down Wu Yu's phone number on a piece of paper and handed it to her, then said in a pleading tone: "Please ask for help in this matter . We will stay in the town for a few days until we find out the truth about Su Wei's death."
The policewoman looked at the phone number and said, "Then I'll call you as soon as possible."
"That's troublesome. We'll leave first." Yunyun said, nodded , then came out with Wu Yu.
As soon as they came out, Wu Yu looked at Yunyun and said, "It seems that things are not as simple as we thought."
"Then what should we do now?" Yunyun said worriedly.
"It seems that we have no choice but to wait. Besides, I believe we will receive a letter from Su Wei."
After hearing this, Yunyun became even more confused and asked, "Do you suspect this is a farce?"
"I don't know either, but I always feel that things are getting more and more mysterious. Either Su Wei is really not dead, or a ghost is causing trouble."
When Yunyun heard about the ghost, she suddenly remembered the matter of the old house and asked worriedly, "Should we continue to stay in the old house?"
"If we want to know the truth of the matter, it seems that we have no choice but to stay in the old house." Wu Yu looked at the spring rain falling sparsely again. The pedestrians passing by in the street seemed to ignore their existence and did not even look at them.
