Chapter 18
Chapter 18
He held a small watering can in his hand, but his gloomy eyes were looking towards her room. He had been standing there for an unknown amount of time.
She went down barefoot and suddenly pulled up the curtains, blocking his prying eyes behind the curtains to express her anger.
Because of her anger, Naoko was still lying on the bed flipping sausages back and forth until late at night, and she never fell asleep.
Half asleep and half awake, there was suddenly a slight movement at the window, like some animal scratching the glass with its claws.
Her house looked so shabby, it shouldn't be robbed, right?
If someone wanted to steal, they should have gone to the Amemiya family next door.
Thinking of this, she turned over lazily.
Because she didn't get her attention, the culprit became more and more rampant, and finally began to knock on the glass continuously.
Bang, bang, bang, bang.
Very good, such a shameless thief, she could only think of one at the moment.
She impatiently opened the window and cursed, "Amamiya-kun, are you a pervert?"
Amamiya placed his palm on the windowsill, pushed hard, and leaped in, landing safely.
"Oh, Naoko, are you still angry?"
Hearing this, she crossed her arms and snorted coldly.
His voice was soft: "I bought two tickets to the amusement park."
"Oh."
"Come with me, Naoko." He suddenly hugged her from behind, skillfully resting his chin on the top of her head. "I don't mean to say that hazelnut parfait is bad. If you like it, I'll treat you next time."
Whether it was intentional or not, he leaned close to her ear as he spoke, and his hot breath tickled her.
"I'm angry because, Naoko, you always don't take me seriously," he whispered softly. "If I suddenly died and you didn't even remember me, I'd be very pitiful." He
started these incomprehensible words again.
She was clearly just an adult, not even in college yet.
But since he'd already apologized, Naoko couldn't hold on to her words, so she softened her tone.
"Even if I wanted to forget you, it would be difficult. After all, we've known each other since we were kids."
He frowned and corrected, "Seven years old."
"Okay, seven. But when are we going to eat? I heard the discount ends next week." She was eager to try, and couldn't help but count the time on her fingers.
"Is all you care about is what to eat?" Amamiya sat down beside her bed. "After the amusement park, let's go to the movies. That's what they say in the manga, right?"
Sounds boring... I might as well stay home and play games.
Never mind, just think of it as coaxing Amamiya-kun.
Seeing that Naoko had nothing to say, he simply lay down on her bed. "Can I sleep in your bed?"
"Of course not. Is there something wrong with your brain?" She reached out to pull him back, but instead she brought her hand to her lips and kissed him softly.
"Naoko, you've become cold and callous. But it's so late, and I have to crawl back down the pipe. It's going to be dangerous," he said bitterly.
If she'd known the danger, she shouldn't have climbed in the first place!
Besides...
"You can go through the main door." Naoko remained unmoved.
"No. I'm going to fall asleep, Naoko."
"...Are you doing this on purpose?"
Seeing him close his eyes, ready to fall asleep, she compromised. "You should sleep on the floor. I'll make your bed."
Despite saying this, as Naoko pulled the blanket from the closet, he seized the opportunity to hold her tightly, nuzzling the back of her neck like he was having an emergency.
"No need, Naoko, just let me hold
you for a while." "You act like that, you fickle bastard." Though sarcastic, it made Amamiya-kun laugh behind her. His hot breath hit her exposed skin, causing her to blush.
A moment later, he slipped away stealthily.
Naoko only learned the next day why he had left so hastily:
he'd had someone fence off the balcony overnight, apparently frightened by Irie-senpai's panties theft.
As rumors of their romance spread throughout the academy, the previously calm undercurrent began to boil over. Of
course, Irie Reo wasn't the only one trying to cross the line.
Lately, when walking down the street with Amamiya, every few minutes someone would pretend to fall into his arms, or a hand would suddenly reach out from nowhere and grab the hem of his shirt.
Fortunately, he was much quicker, always tugging Naoko out of the way in time.
All the way from the school gate to the classroom, he'd been hurling snarls at her:
"Don't you have eyes? Dirty 'rat.'"
"If you don't need your legs, you can donate them to someone who needs them more."
"Did you drink fake alcohol? You idiot."
"If you don't need these legs to walk properly, I can break them for you. Ugly bastard." "
The brilliant choice of words was simply dazzling. To prevent accidental injury, Naoko had to take a step behind him and hide behind him.
Seeing her act of indifference, he was furious. He snorted coldly and asked angrily:
"Faced with this situation, Naoko, don't you have any reaction at all?"
This was not a very glorious thing. What could she do?
"...Ah? Should I show any reaction?"
He gritted his teeth, and Naoko could almost hear the crunching sound squeezed out from between his teeth: "Of course, scold them severely."
This kind of thing was obviously Amamiya's comfort zone.
"Maybe they just accidentally fell, why get angry?" She looked away guiltily and scratched her face.
Amamiya put his hand on the top of her head and turned her head forcefully, bowing to meet her eyes: "Are you doing this on purpose, Naoko. Sometimes I don't know whether you are really stupid or just pretending to be stupid. "
..."
Why did he suddenly start scolding her...
She coughed twice: "Actually, it's no use if I scold them."
"Ha, it's useless." Amemiya crossed his arms, looking at ease, "Aren't you my girlfriend?"
"Yes...right."
He became even more angry: "Then don't you think you should protect me well? At least, you shouldn't let irrelevant "rats" get close to me."
"Okay, if you need it, Amemiya-kun, I will try my best." She took a step back and covered her ears that were buzzing with his noise.
This guy, always yelling.
Meeting her pair of calm and somewhat stupid eyes, he sighed, then grabbed her hand, his voice softening:
"Forget it, just this is enough. Don't ask too much of a fool. But, you still remember, right? About the weekend date."
"I know, I know. You've reminded me so many times." She was dragged along, forced to take longer steps to keep up with him.
While they were bantering for a while, two more people Naoko didn't know well came up and tried to scam her.
Although Amamiya-kun had been popular before, it had now reached a terrifying level.
Everyone was trying to cross the line, dethrone him, and establish a closer relationship with him than with her.
Sometimes, Naoko couldn't help but shudder at their obsessive, determined gazes.
Did she have to be in a relationship with Amamiya?
She had a feeling that something terrible would happen.
As summer approached and the weather got hotter, Naoko almost didn't want to go downstairs even for exercise classes.
The sticky sweat made the fabric stick to her skin, giving her an uncomfortable, sticky feeling.
But she heard that if she didn't exercise all the time, she would grow even shorter, and that was her motto.
Plus, Amamiya would probably come and urge her on.
So after struggling for a long time, she decided to go to the locker room to change into sportswear. Even if she just ran later, it would be considered exercise.
But before she entered the locker room, a loud noise filled her ears. The two female classmates who were watching the show did not notice her approaching, and discussed what had just happened in a shrill voice:
"Hey, what happened?"
"It's Suzuki! He, he, he broke in while Amemiya-kun was changing clothes-"
"This guy really deserves to be hanged."
"Ahhh, he deserves it. Suzuki was beaten half to death by Amemiya-kun."
"Ah, actually, I'm more concerned about what Suzuki saw-if I could see it, I would be willing to die."
