Chapter 149: The Great Tang Imperial Master! He really taught a Li Er!

"Tang Law Commentary" said: When foreigners commit crimes against each other, or when the same kind commit crimes against each other, they shall be punished according to their own customary laws; when different kinds commit crimes against each other, they shall be punished according to the law.
To put it simply, if a foreigner commits a crime, if it is between foreigners of the same country, then they will be dealt with according to their laws; if it involves foreigners from other countries, or Tang people, then they will be dealt with according to Tang laws.
But in the feudal dynasty era, the so-called law was nothing more than the law of the royal family.
Basically, all laws were entangled in politics, and there were no laws independent of imperial power.
When the dynasty was strong, perhaps it could be tough.
But when the country is weak, the rulers dare not stand up.
And these Gentiles naturally became tough.
The Old Book of Tang, Chronicle of Emperor Daizong states:
On the 1st day of the first month of the seventh year in the Dali period, the Uighurs sent envoys from the Honglu Temple to rob the market. The officials were unable to stop them, and another 300 cavalrymen attacked the Jinguang and Zhuque gates.
On that day, all the gates of the imperial city were closed and the consolation and instructions stopped.
On the 29th day of the seventh month in autumn, some Uighur invaders seized the horse that Shao Shuo, the magistrate of Chang'an County, was riding, and the officials were unable to stop them.
On the 25th day of the 9th month of the 10th year of the Dali reign, the Huihe people killed someone in broad daylight in the market place. The officials arrested them and detained them in the Wannian Prison. Their leader Chixin entered the county with his weapons, broke out the prisoners, and injured the prison guards.
The general meaning of this record is that the Uighur envoys who came to visit the Tang Dynasty were rampant and lawless in Chang'an, and the court was helpless.
The arrogant Uighurs looted wantonly in the capital of the Tang Dynasty.
As a result, the emperor meant to send envoys and eunuchs to appease them, using all kinds of kind words to persuade them, hoping that they would not destroy the friendship between the Uighurs and the Tang Dynasty, and not infringe on the dignity of the Tang Dynasty, otherwise the Uighur Khan would punish them. He also said that he would go to the Honglu Temple Guesthouse on behalf of the emperor to give them a banquet tomorrow.
After a combination of soft and hard tactics, the Uighur envoy expressed that he had no intention of offending the dignity of the Tang Dynasty and was willing to restrain his soldiers, let them return to their respective garrisons outside the city, and no longer harass the people of Chang'an.
The incident was finally pacified, but just half a year later, in July, Uighur merchants again openly caused trouble, smashing, looting and robbing.
A group of Uighur merchants, along with their men, attacked Shao Shuo, the magistrate of Chang'an County, in the street. They even robbed Shao Shuo's horse. The county government officials were unable to deal with them at all.
In the tenth year of the Dali period, several Huihe people dared to kill and burn in the streets of Chang'an in broad daylight. After the constables arrested them and put them in prison, their leader actually led a group of soldiers to rush directly to the Wannian County Government Office to break into the prison, opened the prison door, and directly robbed people, and even slashed several of the jailers guarding the cells.
The reason why the Uighur envoys dared to do so was that they assisted the imperial court in quelling the Anshi Rebellion. Since then, they have been proud of their achievements and believed that the Tang Dynasty was weak and nothing more than that. In fact, even though they acted so arrogantly, the emperor did not dare to punish the Uighurs. He could only pretend that he did not see it and even had to send envoys to apologize to the Uighurs.
At this time, it was less than 140 years since the founding of the Tang Dynasty.
Before.
In order to recapture Chang'an and recover lost territory, Emperor Suzong of Tang, who could not afford much money, granted the Uighurs the right to legally plunder.
After retaking Chang'an, the Uighurs wanted to enter the city to plunder as agreed. At that time, Emperor Daizong of Tang, who was still a prince, bowed down before the Uighur leader Yehu and said that if they allowed the troops to plunder now, it would be detrimental to the retaking of Luoyang.
Once the people of Luoyang hear about what happened to the people of Chang'an, they will definitely side with the rebels and fight to the death. Or should they wait until Luoyang is recovered before making further plans?
After weighing the pros and cons, the Uighur leader Yehu decided to give up looting temporarily.
After that, they conquered Luoyang, Zhengzhou and Kaifeng, but were naturally subjected to crazy looting by the Uighur army.
Many people used this incident to discredit the Tang Dynasty.
This has to be clarified and dispelled.
That is——
The Tang army also went to rob.
Of course you have to pay mercenaries. If they don’t have money, then give them the right to legally rob and make the people suffer more.
This kind of thing happened more than once.
The funniest thing is that when the Tang army saw the Uighur army looting money, food and women in the city, they were so jealous that they joined the robbery team.
It is also the Tang Dynasty. During its heyday, the Tang Dynasty conquered all directions and defeated the surrounding countries one by one, only to receive their submission and awe in return.
During its low point, the Tang Dynasty could only allow its people to be robbed in various ways. They did not dare to complain and instead joined in the robbery.
In Su Che's opinion.
There has never been any talk of benevolence, righteousness, or morality in the interactions between countries.
The trust between countries is always based on military strength.
Su Che could clearly understand this, and so could Emperor Xuanzong of Tang. However, Crown Prince Li Ying, who was educated by a group of corrupt scholars, obviously could not understand this. Hearing this, he subconsciously said, "It will cost a lot to launch an expedition against a rebellious country..."
As soon as these words were spoken, Crown Prince Li Ying realized that he had said the wrong thing and quickly lowered his head.
Su Che shook his head.
He poured a glass of wine, drank it slowly, and said slowly: "Let me tell you a story."
"What story?" Li Ying asked subconsciously.
"In the 15th year of Zhenguan, Xueyantuo proposed marriage to the Tang Dynasty. Emperor Taizong of Tang agreed to let Princess Xinxing marry Zhenzhu Khan. Xueyantuo Zhenzhu Khan sent his nephew Tulishe to give the betrothal gift, including 50,000 horses, 10,000 cattle and camels, and 100,000 sheep." Su Che spoke slowly.
"However, after receiving the betrothal gift, Emperor Taizong of Tang regretted his decision and drove the envoy away, agreeing to cancel the engagement but not return the betrothal gift."
"When the news spread, all the ministers in the court were shocked. They all advised: 'Since the court has agreed to intermarry with them and accepted their betrothal gifts, it should not break its promise to Xueyantuo to avoid another border chaos.'"
"Chu Suiliang kowtowed until he bled, and begged Emperor Taizong of Tang not to break his promise and destroy the reputation of the Tang Dynasty."
"What do you think of Emperor Taizong's handling of this matter?"
Li Ying listened to this story that he had never heard before, frowned, and said helplessly: "I dare not criticize our ancestors..."
What this meant was that Li Ying felt that his ancestor Li Er had done something very unkind, but he didn't dare to say it.
"Do you think Taizong's behavior is not fair?" Su Che glanced at Li Ying and asked lightly.
Li Ying didn't say anything, neither admitting nor denying, which meant she agreed.
Seeing Li Ying's attitude, Su Che sneered and said, "Then you are of the same moral character and level as those corrupt scholars and officials. The so-called morality and credit are sometimes necessary, but if you don't have foresight and your own ideas, then you are not worthy of being a qualified king."
"When Emperor Taizong of Tang saw his ministers were enraged, he flew into a rage and shouted, 'You bookworms only know the past and not the present!
"The Central Plains is now strong, while the northern ethnic minorities are weak. With a thousand Tang infantrymen, we can defeat their tens of thousands of cavalrymen. That's why the Xueyantuo are willing to bend down and meet our demands without being arrogant. It's because they have just established a Khan, and they have many tribes with different surnames. We want to use the power of the Tang Dynasty to intimidate and subdue them."
"There are more than ten tribes including Tongluo, Pugu, Huihe, etc., each with tens of thousands of soldiers. If they join forces to attack Xueyantuo, they can immediately defeat them. The reason why they dare not act rashly is because they are afraid of the Khan appointed by my Great Tang."
"If we marry him a daughter of the royal family, they will surely regard themselves as the son-in-law of a great country, and no other tribe will dare to disobey. In this way, Xueyantuo can unify Mobei and gain the support of hundreds of thousands of cavalry."
"These Rongdi people have beastly faces but are actually beasts. Once they are not satisfied, they will bite back and cause harm."
"Now I refuse their marriage and take their betrothal gifts to weaken them. When other tribes learn that we have abandoned them, they will soon divide them up. This way, the Tang Dynasty will have a chance to take over Mobei."
"Even though Emperor Taizong of Tang said this, those corrupt scholars who only knew how to read books of sages were still dissatisfied."
"Because Taizong betrayed the so-called loyalty and trustworthiness of the Tang Dynasty!"
"How can this group of corrupt scholars who only know how to live in peace in a corner understand the mind of the greatest emperor in history? How can they understand the vision of the greatest emperor in history!"
When Crown Prince Li Ying heard this question, his eyes widened and he said in disbelief: "I have never heard of such a story before."
Su Che laughed: "How could those corrupt scholars teach you such anecdotes?"
Su Che asked again: "Let me ask you again, what will happen after a few years?"
Li Ying frowned, thought for a while, and replied: "A few years later, the Tang Dynasty mobilized troops and annexed Xueyantuo and Guligan..."
"Then let me ask you, will you choose to betray your loyalty and annex other countries, or will you abide by your loyalty and allow other countries to develop, and finally attack the Tang Dynasty and plunder its people?!" Su Che stared into Li Ying's eyes and asked word by word.
This intense question made Li Ying blush, and he said without hesitation: "Of course it is betrayal!"
"Humph." Su Che snorted, stretched, and said, "Then you can still be saved."
Ever since Su Che became the Prince's Grand Tutor, under Su Che's guidance, Prince Li Ying has changed tremendously. Before that, he was just a simple-minded boy who was extremely rigid and dogmatic in his actions and deeds.
Such a person cannot be said to be bad, but for a country's crown prince, this is obviously not enough.
The king that those civil officials hoped to see emerge was a puppet emperor who liked to listen to the arrangements and suggestions of the ministers. They could just let them rule the country, and the emperor only needed to be a mascot.
Such an emperor is the dream king of most civil officials.
Under such instruction, it is perfectly normal for Li Ying to be the way she is now.
but.
Ever since Su Che appeared, he forced Li Ying to correct his original wrong path.
At this moment, Li Ying's worldview felt like it was being refreshed. He said blankly, "Breaking faith is the way to be kind...obeying morality is the way to be tyrannical?"
Looking at Li Ying's shocked face, Su Che took another sip of rice wine and asked with a smile, "Are you wondering why no one has ever told you these truths before? Are those Confucian scholars really just a bunch of good-for-nothings?"
Li Ying was stunned and nodded subconsciously.
Su Che poured another glass of wine and said slowly:
"All under heaven belongs to the king, and all the people are his subjects. The emperor is the owner of the world, but he cannot handle everything by himself, so in order to govern the world, he must share power with officials and let them help govern."
"Whether officials or common people, they are all the private property of the emperor. Because of the great private interests , the great public interests are also important. Most emperors would not let the common people suffer. However, officials and those aristocratic families have no such scruples. They desperately make money, annex land in various ways, exploit the common people, and bully countless common people..."
"So, you have to understand one thing. As a king, you should stand with the people, not with those officials or those aristocratic families!"
"The people are the people of the king, not the people of officials or aristocratic families!"
"The king needs the support of the noble families to seize the world, and needs the help of officials to govern the world."
"But if you think that because of this, you are standing with the officials and the noble families, then you are the biggest fool in the world!"
"The emperor needs the support and help of the noble families and officials, but the officials and noble families are nothing but blood-sucking worms of this dynasty!"
"The reason why the dynasty fell is mostly because there were too many blood-sucking families and corrupt officials, forcing the people to the point where they couldn't even survive! They would die anyway, so they could only resist to the death!"
Su Che's words revealed the truth about the so-called imperial power and directly pointed to the essence of the feudal system.
This was undoubtedly an unprecedented shock to Crown Prince Li Ying, and he widened his eyes.
After a while, Li Ying asked again: "What about the tyrant?"
Su Che laughed and said, "The so-called tyrant is the emperor who has transformed into the biggest blood-sucking worm, sucking blood and exploiting others with the officials and the aristocratic families to satisfy his own selfish interests! As a result, because he affected the interests of the aristocratic families, he was overthrown by the aristocratic families, that's all!"
These words made Li Ying a little dazed. They were completely contrary to his previous cognition, but he had no way to refute them. Even if he didn't want to believe it, the voice deep in his heart told him - this was the reality!
A cruel and extremely real reality.
For a moment, Li Ying suddenly understood why the emperor claimed that he was a lonely man.
The ministers, relatives by marriage, and nobles who help him are all leeches who want to gain more benefits from him and want to exploit the foundation of the dynasty, but the king inevitably needs the help of these people.
This is a road with no solution.
Even with the help of children from poor families, it is still useless. The dragon slayer will eventually become an evil dragon, and the children from poor families will eventually become the new aristocratic families. No matter how hard the king tries, he cannot get out of this vicious circle.
After realizing this truth, Li Ying laughed at himself and said with a painful look on his face: "According to what you said, there is no such thing as a foundation that will last forever in this world. Everything will slowly die. No matter how reforms are made, they will eventually perish. My father has worked hard to govern the country, but after so many years, it has become like this..."
"So we need to open up the sea and transfer our conflicts to the outside world." Su Che said, "Do you think that opening up the sea to do business is just for money?"
Crown Prince Li Ying frowned and remained silent.
Su Che asked: "Let me ask you, what is money?"
Li Ying subconsciously asked: "Yellow and white things, and copper coins?"
Su Che shook his head and said, "If it's just for these reasons, why do we have to go to sea to trade? Wouldn't it be enough to just write "Zhi Bai" or "Zhi Wan" on the copper coins and say that the coins are worth 100 or 10,000 coins?"
Li Ying was stunned. He subconsciously thought this was a fallacy. He frowned and thought for a while, then said, "But if too much money is issued, it will become worthless."
"Okay." Su Che nodded and said with a smile: "Then let me ask you, if you open up the sea to do business and earn countless gold, silver and copper, then what is the essential difference between these gold, silver and copper with a hundred and ten thousand dollars?"
Li Ying said subconsciously: "Of course there is a difference. The former is the money of the real value of the goods, while the latter is just a false mark and cannot be counted."
Su Che shook his head and said, "Think about it carefully. You have countless gold, silver and copper. What is the essential difference between that and the hundred-dollar or ten-thousand-dollar coins?"
As soon as these words came out, Li Ying was stunned. He frowned and thought about it carefully. Suddenly, he realized that although there was a difference, it seemed that there was no essential difference! !
If there are countless gold, silver and copper, the value of these currencies themselves will become worthless.
After figuring this out, Li Ying said in disbelief, "How could this happen?"
"Because the essence of currency is just a general equivalent!" Su Che explained.
"General equivalent, general equivalent..." Li Ying muttered this word, and for a moment, his expression was a little dazed. Yes, this is the true meaning of currency. "I see, so that's it..."
Su Che shook his head and said, "That's all for today's teaching. You should think about what I taught you, reflect on it carefully, summarize it, and tell me tomorrow."
"First, deal with the murder cases of foreign merchants. Then think carefully about what I said. If you can understand even a little bit, you will have great potential!"
"I'm going to drink!"
Su Che waved his hand, turned around and left gracefully, leaving Prince Li Ying standing there in a daze.
In this class, Su Che’s thoughts were so overwhelming that for Li Ying, it was like going through one brainstorming session after another!
This made Li Ying's scalp tingle and her head itchy, as if she was about to... grow a brain!
Soon, Prince Yao of E and Prince Ju of Guang came to see Crown Prince Li Ying.
Because of Xuanzong's exclusive favor for Concubine Wu Huifei, not only did the mother of Crown Prince Li Ying lose the emperor's favor, but also the mother of Prince E Yao, Huangfu Deyi, and the mother of Prince Guang Ju, Liu Cairen, also lived in melancholy every night.
This same experience brought Crown Prince Li Ying, Prince of E Li Yao, and Prince of Guang Li Ju together.
At this moment, they came to Li Ying to persuade him that those foreign barbarians should not be dealt with lightly. If a prince with little real power handled such a big matter improperly, big problems could easily arise.
The so-called not doing is good.
It would be most appropriate to let Emperor Xuanzong be the one to worry about this kind of problem.
When he came over, he saw Crown Prince Li Ying sitting on the couch in a daze, as if thinking about something.
Prince E Li Yao asked curiously: "Brother, what are you doing?"
Prince Guang Li Ju also asked curiously: "Second brother, what's wrong with you?"
Crown Prince Li Ying shook his head and said helplessly: "It's okay, I just figured out some things, so I feel lost..."
When these words were spoken, Li Yao and Li Ju were both stunned and looked at each other.
Then they told him about their visit.
Listening to the suggestions of his two younger brothers, Li Ying smiled and said disdainfully: "I will deal with this matter myself. The Tang Law Commentary states: If foreigners commit crimes against each other, or if the same species commit crimes against each other, they shall be punished according to their own customs; if different species commit crimes against each other, they shall be punished according to the law."
"These foreign merchants killed people from the Tang Dynasty. They should be dealt with according to the law and executed immediately. You don't need to persuade me. I have made up my mind!"
"This...?" Li Yao and Li Ju were a little surprised, but still made a suggestion: "Second brother, you should at least tell father not to be so arbitrary..."
"I understand." Li Ying nodded, spread out a memorial book, and started writing.
Soon, Crown Prince Li Ying wrote down on paper exactly how he would handle the case.
"All the foreign merchants who participated in the protest were arrested and put into the Tianlao, and interrogated one by one. Those who killed people were beheaded immediately, and all their property was confiscated. The merchants who marched did not hurt anyone, and according to the law, those who could help but did not help were punished with 80 strokes of the cane. And because it was their march that caused the unrest, they were all sentenced to two years in prison!"
Li Ying then wrote down the reasons for doing so, as well as the possible consequences. The laws of the Celestial Empire must not be violated. If a foreign country breaks off relations and prevents the Tang Dynasty from opening up the sea to trade, then the heavenly army will be mobilized to conquer the rebellious country!
After writing this memorial, Prince E Li Yao and Prince Guang Li Ju were both stunned and said in shock:
"Brother, when did you become so strong?"
"Second brother, you are too domineering!"
They all looked at Crown Prince Li Ying in admiration, which made Li Ying a little embarrassed and said: "It's all because of the guidance of the Crown Prince and the Grand Tutor that I have understood these..."
"Prince's Grand Tutor?" Prince E Li Yao asked curiously, "Is that the exiled immortal Li Bai?"
Prince Guang Li Ju drew out the non-existent 'sword' from his waist, waved it and said, "Is that the Li Bai who wrote 'Kill one person every ten steps, and leave no trace in a thousand miles'?"
"Yes." Li Ying nodded.
"Second brother, when can you introduce someone to us?" Prince Guang Li Ju said hurriedly.
Prince E Li Yao said expectantly, "Brother, I also want to meet Li Bai, but unfortunately every time I come to your place, I can't see him..."
"Yeah, I didn't see Li Bai again today." Prince Guang Li Ju looked around and said with emotion.
"What about Mr. Li Bai?" asked Prince Li Yao of E.
"The teacher only gives me half an hour of lessons a day to give me guidance. The rest of the time he goes out to drink, play and make friends." Li Ying said helplessly.
He could only absorb half an hour's knowledge from Su Che every day, which left Crown Prince Li Ying with a feeling of wanting more. He asked the teacher for more instruction several times.
But Su Che just smiled and didn't want to teach more. Instead, he gave him a lecture: "You can't chew too much. It's already amazing that you can digest half of this knowledge."
After receiving such an answer, Crown Prince Li Ying could only begin to think over and over again about what Su Che had taught him.
While thinking, Crown Prince Li Ying occasionally recalled that when he was young, he was most troubled by the teachings of his teachers and could not read those Confucian books at all.
Li Ying always had a headache when studying or attending class.
He never thought that one day he would actually beg others for guidance.
I can only sigh that the reputation of the exiled immortal in this world is truly well-deserved.
soon.
When Li Ying handed his memorial to his father.
When Xuanzong saw the solution and detailed discussion in the memorial, he couldn't help but raise his eyebrows. He was very surprised that his kind-hearted and compassionate son could come up with such a decision...
On second thought, maybe that’s not the case.
"Is this Li Bai's opinion?"
Xuanzong chuckled and asked calmly.
When the Crown Prince Li Ying heard this, his cheeks turned red and he lowered his head and said, "That's right."
"Then you can handle it according to this." Xuanzong said lightly.
"Yes." Li Ying nodded.
at the same time.
In Guiyun Pavilion.
Su Che came to the attic surrounded by several dancers.
Today, I listen to music in a brothel.
This is Li Bai's favorite thing to do. Since I am imitating Li Bai, I naturally cannot escape the temptation and have to experience it well.
In the past few days, Su Che wrote many poems in Guiyun Pavilion, which aroused the warm welcome of countless dancers and courtesans. They all looked forward to becoming famous all over the world.
For example, Su Che wrote a poem for a girl from Wu.
"Grape wine and a golden cup were carried by a fifteen-year-old girl from Wu on a fine horse.
Her eyebrows are painted with indigo and her red brocade boots are red. She sings in a charming way while her words are not correct.
I am drunk in the tortoise-shell banquet, what can I do to you under the lotus tent? "
This poem was extremely explicit. After it was written, the 15-year-old singer from the south blushed all the way to her neck. She didn't say a word and buried her head in Su Che's chest.
During these days, Su Che made many good friends in Chang'an City, each of them was famous, including Gao Shi, Cen Shen, Wang Zhihuan, Wang Han, Wang Changling, Li Qi, Cui Hao, Meng Haoran, Du Fu, and He Zhizhang.
Among these people, some originally lived in Chang'an City, while some heard the song "Xia Ke Xing" in other places and knew that there was a banished immortal in Chang'an City, so they came here specifically to admire him.
After meeting Su Che, most of them hit it off and became close friends.
And today, when Su Che came to Guiyun Pavilion, he saw another handsome young man. He was dressed in gorgeous clothes and had an extraordinary demeanor. He was also the focus of everyone. Standing in this tacky Guiyun Pavilion, he was so different.
At this moment, the young man was watching the dancer on the stage with great interest.
On the stage, a Bodhisattva barbarian from the Nüman Kingdom was dancing gracefully.
She was wearing a green gauze dress with unknown gems inlaid on her cuffs. She walked lightly and gracefully as she danced an exotic dance that was exceptionally gorgeous and unique.
Her graceful figure is faintly visible under the veil, and the half-covered veil skirt makes people want to explore the secrets.
This Bodhisattva Man refers to the people of the Numan Kingdom.
Legend has it that there is not a single man in this country of women, and the entire country is made up of women.
Because they were relatively close to the Tang Dynasty, in order to obtain the protection of the Tang Dynasty, they would offer tribute to the Tang Dynasty every year. In addition to some jewelry and other valuables, they would also send beautiful women from their own country.
The clothes these beauties wore and their ability to sing and dance were very similar to the female Bodhisattvas in ancient mythology. Therefore, people in the Tang Dynasty called these beauties Bodhisattvas. Since they were tributes from the Nüman Kingdom, they were also called Bodhisattva Barbarians.
For the wealthy families in Chang'an, if they didn't have a few decent servants at home, they would be embarrassed to go out.
The three essential items for the wealthy families in Chang'an were Kunlun slaves, Bodhisattva barbarians and Silla maids.
At this moment, this young man seems to have taken a liking to this Bodhisattva Man?
At this moment, as Su Che came over, the young man also turned his head and glanced at Su Che.
"Mr. Qinglian was exiled to immortality?" the young man asked with a smile.
"It's me." Su Che smiled and asked, "Who are you?"
"I am Mr. Mojie." The young man said with a smile.
Su Che was stunned for a moment, then he realized who the person in front of him was, Wang Wei, the Mojie hermit!
The life experiences of Wang Wei and Li Bai are completely different.
During the Sui and Tang dynasties, there were several super families, known as the "Five Surnames and Seven Aristocrats", namely the Wang family of Taiyuan, the Lu family of Fanyang, the Zheng family of Xingyang, the two Cui families of Qinghe and Boling, and the two Li families of Zhaojun and Longxi.
The "Five Surnames and Seven Families" are all very arrogant. They only marry within their own small circle and do not intermarry with other families.
Wang Wei's father was from the Wang family of Taiyuan, and his mother was the daughter of the Cui family of Boling.
He can be said to be a young man from a noble family who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
He took part in the imperial examination and passed easily.
At the same time, Li Bai did not even have the qualifications to take the imperial examination.
Even if you are qualified to take the imperial examination, it will probably take many years!
Because of his noble family background, Wang Wei passed the imperial examination at a young age and was appointed as Taiyue Cheng, an official position in the Taiyue Office under the Taichang Temple, an official in charge of music, which is equivalent to an official in charge of ritual and music matters in the court.
Princess Yuzhen particularly admired Wang Wei, but cared less about the poet Li Bai.
Wang Wei's poems are beautiful, just like his paintings, and his paintings are also great, just like his poems...
During his study tour, Wang Wei visited Chang'an, Luoyang, and Mount Zhongnan, and wrote poetry while traveling.
One of the poems reads: "As a stranger in a foreign land, I miss my family all the more during festivals. I know my brothers are climbing high places, but there is one less person wearing dogwood branches."
It was written by Wang Wei.
He is the best painter among poets, the best musician among painters, and the one who understands Buddhism the best among musicians.
This is an all-round artist.
After hearing Wang Wei's name, Su Che was slightly stunned, pointed at this place, and said with a smile: "I didn't expect that a dignified monk like Mo Jie would come to such a place. It really surprises me."
"I have read your poems and articles. Your poems and articles are very good." Wang Wei said with a smile, "So I came here to find you, hoping to make friends with you."
Su Che shook his head and said, "Whether you can be my friend, Li Taibai, depends on whether you can drink!"
"That's exactly what I meant!" Wang Wei said with a smile.
"Come." Su Che put his hand directly on Wang Wei's shoulder and took him to his 'VIP seat'. At this moment, Meng Haoran and He Zhizhang were already here, and they were discussing the major events that had happened in recent days.
The riots of foreign merchants.
Seeing Su Che coming over, He Zhizhang asked curiously, "How is the prince going to deal with that foreign merchant?"
"Kill him!" Su Che said indifferently.
"Kill? So many foreign merchants, were they all killed?" He Zhizhang asked in surprise.
"This is the prince's own business." Su Che smiled and gave a solution. How the prince solved it was his business.
Wang Wei, who was listening to this, could not help but say, "Killing them all is not right. Even if they are to be killed, the mastermind behind the murder should be found and killed. Those who did not kill anyone should be punished differently."
"Moreover, I think this matter is not simple. There must be some wealthy businessmen in the country involved. They are the main reason for the riot of foreign businessmen this time!"
"If it weren't for those people's instigation, I don't believe that those foreign merchants would gather together without any prior agreement!"
"In my opinion, these people deserve to die the most. Not only should we punish those foreign merchants, but also those wealthy businessmen in China who are instigating the issue behind the scenes!"
Su Che listened to this and looked at Wang Wei in surprise: "You are right, this is how it should be handled."
"The foreign merchants deserve to die, and those wealthy businessmen who instigated this domestically deserve to die even more!"
In a word, the traitors are more hateful than the Japs!
The next day.
Those foreign merchants who had killed people were all beheaded. At the vegetable market entrance in Chang'an City, a group of ordinary people saw those foreigners being beheaded and applauded.
"Good kill!"
"Whoever offends the Tang Dynasty will be punished no matter how far away they are!"
“They should all be killed!”
After these people were executed, Crown Prince Li Ying's popularity increased significantly. At the same time, under Su Che's suggestion, Crown Prince Li Ying also captured some of the masterminds behind the scenes, beheaded some, confiscated some's property, and exiled some.
After this series of issues were resolved neatly, there were no more obstacles to opening up the sea for business, and it was put on the agenda almost instantly.
Previously, after those foreign merchants were beheaded, their property was naturally confiscated, and the slaves and sailors on the ships all became the property of the Tang Dynasty.
As the Tang Dynasty opened up to the sea for business, all kinds of assets flowed into the Tang Dynasty like water.
In the past, these interests were mostly controlled by foreign businessmen and some domestic noble families and wealthy businessmen.
But now, it has become the interest of the Tang Dynasty court.
The officials in the court also saw the benefits of overseas business from opening up the sea.
I heard that there is a place overseas with abundant resources where three harvests can be harvested a year?
I heard that there are mountains of silver and copper overseas?
I heard that there is gold in the rivers overseas?
I heard that there are various special products overseas?
When they saw these benefits, they instantly became extremely proactive.
Before this, the fame of the Tang Dynasty had spread far and wide, and it had become the most powerful country among all nations.
But that's just fame.
With the emergence of Su Che, these fame gradually turned into various assets visible to the naked eye.
And this.
Just the first step.
A few years later.
With the development of overseas businesses, various domestic commodities have become increasingly scarce.
Because it is a product from the Tang Dynasty, there is no need to worry about sales. However, the quantity of the products is limited. The reason is very simple: productivity is too low!
Even though those products were rushed to production day and night, which created a large number of Tang Dynasty workers, they were still not enough and were easily sold out.
It is so painful to see a mountain of gold right in front of you but not be able to earn any money from it.
This made the aristocratic families very worried.
In such an environment, the source of the Industrial Revolution began to sprout. Some people who specialized in scientific research emerged, and through their research, many new things were discovered.
For example, the new loom is a brand new textile machine. The weaving speed is much faster. According to statistics, it is five or six times faster than before!
The emergence of such a machine undoubtedly caused a huge sensation.
This made many people start thinking, since we can research these things, can we go a step further and research something even more powerful?
As a result, the wealthy and powerful families began to continuously invest the funds they earned into research.
The wheel of history has started turning again.
And Su Che, the instigator of all this, is currently teaching Crown Prince Li Ying.
After several years of instruction, Crown Prince Li Ying has been transformed, and his eyes have become exceptionally wise.
The courses and knowledge that Su Che taught him were undoubtedly the skills to slay dragons.
As Xuanzong continued to favor Wu Huifei.
However, Concubine Wu Huifei wanted her most intelligent son to become emperor.
Almost every day, she whispered all kinds of gossip into Xuanzong's ears.
The relationship between Xuanzong and Crown Prince Li Ying also became worse and worse.
In such a situation.
This gave Crown Prince Li Ying a bold idea, an unprecedented ambition.
If it were the him before, it would be impossible for him to have such thoughts or such ambitions.
But now, after Su Che's teaching, he is no longer the boy he used to be.
but.
When Li Ying came up with this idea, she didn't tell anyone.
He made preparations silently and at the same time took responsibility for the affairs of opening up the sea for business.
Many conflicts occurred during this period, but Li Ying endured them all and always compromised.
A few more years passed.
After Li Linfu ascended to the throne.
Wu Huifei and Li Linfu colluded with each other and hit it off, deciding to frame and kill the prince.
This day.
Concubine Wu Huifei falsely conveyed the imperial edict, saying that a thief had entered the palace.
Let the Crown Prince, Prince E and Prince Guang enter the palace in armor to capture the traitor.
This is an open conspiracy.
If Crown Prince Li Ying entered the palace to catch a thief, then they would frame the Crown Prince for colluding with the other two princes, entering the palace in armor, and intending to rebel!
But if he didn't go to the palace, it would be disobedience. He didn't come even when the imperial edict ordered him to go to the palace. What did that mean? Did he hope that the thief would harm the emperor? Even if the imperial edict was fake, it would still cause a rift in Xuanzong's heart, and it was not impossible that he would even depose the crown prince.
However……
After receiving this imperial edict, Crown Prince Li Ying was overjoyed. He never dreamed that he could get this imperial edict. This was really a blessing from heaven!
At this moment, Su Che was teaching Li Ying. When he heard the imperial edict and saw Li Ying's uncontrollable joy, he was stunned and instantly understood all the causes and consequences.
After the eunuch who delivered the imperial edict left, Su Che looked at Li Ying, smiled faintly and said, "I was wondering what you had been secretly preparing for these past few years. It turns out you were preparing for a rebellion."
As soon as these words were spoken, Li Ying's face changed drastically and he looked at Su Che in astonishment.
"Teacher?" Li Ying stayed here.
"Go ahead." Su Che said calmly, "You are also the second in command, so learn from Li Er..."
"Yes!" Li Ying stood up and said seriously: "If your disciple succeeds, I will definitely honor you as the Imperial Master of the Tang Dynasty!!"
After saying this, Li Ying turned and left. Su Che looked at Li Ying's back and couldn't help shaking his head.
"The Imperial Master of the Tang Dynasty..."
“It sounds like a good idea.”
Su Che smiled and said to himself: "I didn't expect that I would really teach a Li Er..."
