Chapter 13 The Second Task: Watching TV
Han Fei's brain reacted within a few tenths of a second. He had no time to think and his body started moving immediately.
The two sides raced against time. Han Fei came to the fourth floor first. He took the bunch of keys and began to look for the key to the security door.
The footsteps behind him were getting closer and closer. What made him even more uneasy was that in addition to the footsteps, he also smelled a strong smell of blood!
That's right, that sticky fishy smell almost suffocated him.
"Faster! Faster!"
The actors' strict training on muscle and body control helped Han Fei a lot. Although he was extremely nervous at the moment, his hands did not tremble.
The moment he found the key, he inserted it into the lock in one go.
With the sound of the spring spring, Han Fei pulled open the security door and rushed in.
Han Fei closed the door and covered his mouth.
Through the door, he could clearly hear the beast-like panting outside.
"What the hell is this?"
Han Fei barely stood up straight and looked outside through the peephole. There was nothing in the empty corridor.
"The panting sound has disappeared, but the smell of blood is still there!"
Han Fei couldn't open the door at this time. He kept adjusting the angle and finally saw half of the face hidden under the security door through the peephole.
The guy on the sixth floor didn't leave! He hid in the blind spot of the cat's eye and was guarding the door of Han Fei's house!
If the old lady on the third floor gave Han Fei the impression of being kind and amiable with a hint of weirdness, then the man on the sixth floor gave Han Fei the impression of being cruel, bloody, and cunning.
“My neighbors have big problems!”
Han Fei took a step back and wiped the sweat from his forehead. "This guy is guarding the door. I can't get out at all. If I want to quit the game, I have to complete a task. Do I have to do the novice task in this room?"
Frankly speaking, the seemingly simplest novice task had left a psychological shadow on Han Fei.
"Let's take three hours first." Han Fei didn't know how to evaluate his current situation. There was a bloody murderer blocking the door at the door of his house, and the haunted house he lived in was haunted at night. Having wolves in front and tigers behind could not describe his miserable situation.
"After playing for so long, I'm still at level one. Maybe the situation will get better after I level up."
The game is compulsory, and now Han Fei can only comfort himself this way.
Staring at the clock on the wall, Han Fei did not dare to go into the house. He turned on all the lights and stood next to the security door.
The smell of blood in the corridor became stronger and stronger, and strange noises could be heard occasionally. The neighbor on the sixth floor was very patient, but the way he "greeted" Han Fei was a little overwhelmed.
"When I completed the task of replacing the fuse, the system reminded me that harmonious neighborhood relations are the first step to a perfect life. This means that the game hopes that I can have a good relationship with my neighbors."
"If I want to live well, I have to gain the friendship and help of my neighbors." Smelling the pungent smell of blood in the air, Han Fei made a bitter face: "This is really a healing game. I am autistic and socially phobic, and it gives me a treatment plan that I will die if I don't make friends."
Time passed slowly, and in a blink of an eye it was three o'clock in the morning.
The three-hour time limit has passed. Now Han Fei can leave the game as long as he completes one more task.
The "hospitable" neighbor outside the door had not left yet, so Han Fei was unable to go out for the time being. After thinking it over, he decided to try the novice mission.
"If the ghost comes after me again this time, I will open the security door. If the neighbor on the sixth floor is killed by the ghost by accident, I will find a way to take his key and live in his house from now on. I will live for him and not let his death be in vain."
This is the ideal situation, but the reality is more likely that Han Fei will be killed by his neighbor as soon as he opens the door.
Opening the task panel, Han Fei hesitated for a long time, and finally chose Novice Task 2 - Watching TV.
When he was doing the sleeping task, he had already discovered that there was a ghost in the bathroom. If he chose the bathing task at this time, wouldn't that be asking for a close contact with the ghost?
"Player No. 0000 accepts the G-level novice mission - watch TV!"
"Task introduction: Since moving here, you have lost count of how many times you have suffered from insomnia. Unable to fall asleep, you decide to watch some TV."
"Task requirements: Please turn off all lights in the house, turn on the TV, and watch any channel for thirty minutes. During the thirty minutes, do not take your eyes off the TV screen at will."
This novice mission is not difficult just looking at the introduction, but Han Fei knows that some things cannot be judged by appearance alone.
Unable to leave the room, Han Fei had no choice but to go ahead.
He turned off all the lights in the house and turned on the TV at 3:05 in the morning.
There was a rustling sound coming from the old square TV . It seemed that the signal was bad. Many channels had no images, just a piece of black and white snow.
The novice mission had already begun unknowingly. Han Fei sat upright on the sofa with the remote control in his left hand and a kitchen knife in his right hand, staring straight at the TV screen.
"It's okay, just hold on for thirty minutes."
After changing channels repeatedly, Han Fei finally saw a picture on the TV when he dialed channel 44.
The light was dim and the image on the screen was not very clear, as if it was a cartoon. However, Han Fei had never seen such a cartoon before because its style was so strange.
"Little Theater in the Underworld?"
Han Fei leaned forward and tried to turn up the volume of the TV. Suddenly, he heard footsteps.
The sound that was becoming increasingly clear was not coming from the TV, but from the bedroom.
Someone is walking in the house!
The footsteps were getting closer and closer to Han Fei. The other party walked out of the bedroom and walked straight towards him.
"Is that the ghost?"
"Will it hold a knife?"
Han Fei dared not move, and the footsteps finally disappeared behind the sofa.
I was watching TV at home at three in the morning when I suddenly heard footsteps in the unlit room. Finally, the sound disappeared behind me.
"Gone? Or has he always been standing behind me?"
His Adam's apple trembled slightly, but Han Fei forced himself not to look back, his eyes fixed on the TV.
There was no sound in the animation on the screen. The mutilated little man in the animation seemed to be avoiding something. If it paused for a moment, a pair of invisible hands would grab it and drag .
Han Fei didn't know what this animation wanted to express. When the villain was caught for the third time, Han Fei felt his left shoulder suddenly sink, as if something was placed on him.
Without turning his head, he glanced at his left shoulder with the corner of his eye and vaguely saw a pale arm.
His heart began to beat uncontrollably. Han Fei gritted his teeth and forced himself to watch TV. But when he moved his eyes, he saw an even more horrifying scene.
A pair of legs appeared behind the TV cabinet where the square TV was placed.
There was more than one ghost in this haunted house. Han Fei's body began to tremble. He really wanted to run over, open the security door, and invite the neighbors on the sixth floor to watch TV together.
