Chapter 126: Flirting

Qu Bai pushed open the door of the bar with rain all over his body.
It was evening and the bar had not yet opened, and Uncle Gen was cleaning up at the counter.
When he saw Qu Bai coming in like this, he was stunned at first, then dropped the rag in his hand and walked over to him.
"What's wrong? Where have you been? Why don't you have an umbrella?"
He glanced at Qu Bai's appearance, then ran to the utility room and took out two towels, stuffed one into Qu Bai's hand, and used the other to wipe Qu Bai's hair.
Qu Bai remained silent, bent his body slightly, and lowered his head to let him fiddle with it.
"You don't even take an umbrella with you when you go out. Do you think you are so young? If you keep getting wet like this, you will see what you will do when you get old!"
"It's raining and you don't even wear extra clothes. You said it's so convenient now. You can find a place to hide from the rain and call a car to come back, right?"
"I can't get a taxi, but there are shops everywhere and it doesn't cost much to buy an umbrella."
"If it doesn't work, just give me a call and I'll pick you up..."
He babbled and wiped his hair: "Hurry up and change into some fresh clothes!"
Qu Bai hummed, pulled the corners of his lips as he continued to chatter, and said, "Okay."
He walked towards the lounge. Uncle Gen looked at his back and sighed. He went into the bar and after rummaging for a long time, he finally pulled out two pieces of ginger.
When Qu Baiqing came out refreshed, he pushed a steaming cup over to him with a fierce face: "Ginger tea, give it to me."
Qu Bai frowned, feeling a little resistant.
"drink!"
Uncle Gen pushed the cup towards him again: "You don't know how to take care of your body, now you know it's hard to drink?"
Qu Bai took the cup, looked at it with a bitter face, and then took a sip as if he had done some psychological preparation.
Although there was no sugar in it, it was not as unpalatable as he had imagined. He relaxed his brows and sipped it one sip at a time.
Uncle Gen smiled and continued with his preparations, occasionally replying to messages on his phone.
Afraid that Qu Bai might think too much, he explained: "Some friends who are looking for their children exchange information with each other. I recently joined a new group. Let's chat more and see if there are any clues."
"Yeah." Qu Bai finished the cup of ginger tea without noticing and pushed the cup over: "I want another cup."
Uncle Gen was stunned, then delighted, and poured him another cup: "You don't like sugar, so I didn't dare to put it in. Do you want to try putting some in?"
Qu Bai shook his head: "Uncle Gen, we are closed tonight."
"Ah?" Uncle Gen looked puzzled: "Why is it suddenly closed?"
"I don't make money from this, and when it rains, I don't want people coming in and out and getting wet."
Qu Bai said, "Put up the sign."
Uncle Gen looked at him worriedly , but didn't ask any more questions and prepared to go out and close the door.
After walking two steps, he asked again: "I've heated up your soup. Do you want to put it in for Xiao Xia?"
Qu Bai's knuckles stiffened slightly, and he paused before saying, "Let it go."
Uncle Gen took the thermos, went out and put the sleeping soup in it, then hung up a sign saying the restaurant was temporarily closed and came back.
He took out a lunch box from behind the bar: "Your aunt couldn't stay any longer, so she made you something to eat. Are you hungry? If you're not hungry, don't overeat."
"I haven't eaten yet." Qu Bai took the lunch box and opened it layer by layer. When he saw the familiar dishes, his face finally warmed up a little.
While he was eating, he saw Uncle Gen move a small stool and sit down, and then skillfully post messages in various missing child groups.
"Uncle Gen." He suddenly asked, "Are all parents in the world the same as you?"
"What?" Uncle Gen's mind was not here, and he didn't hear the whole thing: "What did you say?"
“Are all parents in the world like you?”
Qu Bai put down his chopsticks and said, "I will give up my home and go bankrupt in order to find my child."
Uncle Gen laughed, his expression calm and matter-of-fact: "You are silly, without a wife and children, what is home? Wherever they are, that is home."
Qu Bai followed his smile and said, "That's right."
Uncle Gen saw that he was in a bad mood, so he turned off his phone and stood up: "Xiao Bai, most parents in the world are like this. Some are a little foul-mouthed and strict, and they beat or scold their children, but most parents and children have been like this for thousands of years. The original intention of parents is to do good for their children."
Qu Bai snorted coldly: "But there are also parents who push their children into the fire pit."
Uncle Gen looked embarrassed and didn't know how to answer him.
“A few.”
His voice softened: "Xiaobai, have you found your family?"
Qu Bai picked up the chopsticks again and saw that his expression was gentle: "I didn't find it, and I'm too lazy to look for it."
"I remember when we first met."
Uncle Gen recalled: "I asked you who you were looking for, and you said your family."
"Yes." Qu Bai said, "There is one."
Even though they have no blood relationship, Qu Bai has only one family.
One is enough.
"Have you found it?" Uncle Gen asked him.
He replied perfunctorily: "Not yet."
Uncle Gen felt sorry for him, and even though he thought it was inappropriate, he still raised his hand and pushed the hair that was blocking his eyes away.
"If you don't mind, just treat me and your aunt... as... well, forget it, just treat me as nonsense..."
"OK."
Qu Bai smiled: "Uncle Gen, let's make it a deal. I treat you as my family, so don't be estranged from me."
Uncle Gen was stunned. After a long while, he suddenly laughed: "Okay! Since you said that, I will treat you as my own son from now on!"
"What if you don't take it?" Qu Bai asked him back.
Uncle Gen was in a dilemma. The answer was not easy to come up with.
"Take your time." Qu Bai did not embarrass him: "Uncle Gen, let's take our time."
Uncle Gen nodded, and somehow his eyes suddenly felt a little hot. He lowered his head, pretending to look at his phone, and took the opportunity to wipe his eyes.
On the other side, Chi Xia listened to Luo Xun's words.
She drew all the curtains in the house, turned on only one floor lamp, and put on a thriller.
Eat and drink at the same time.
Anyway, I achieved the effect of self-release in the end. I fell asleep right after drinking it, and my head felt light, not as heavy and uncomfortable as usual.
Chi Xia fell asleep on the sofa, and before falling asleep, he sent a message to Luo Xun in a daze.
Naming by name: Luo Xun, did you leave the clothes to me on purpose? I order you to take it away.
When Luo Xun saw the news, he was petrified for three seconds.
Finally, I called her. When Chi Xia answered the phone, she said nothing but a string of numbers.
Luo Xun was worried, and after thinking for a while, he decided to come and take a look.
Sure enough, the string of numbers she had just mumbled was the new door lock password she had set.
When Luo Xun walked in, there was a heart-wrenching ghost scream coming from the movie. As soon as he walked over, he was hit by a ghost face that suddenly appeared on the screen.
Captain Luo was so frightened that his heart almost stopped for three seconds.
He gnashed his teeth in anger, went over and angrily turned off the projector, then carried the half-drunk Officer Chi into the bedroom, threw him on the bed and covered him with a quilt.
Then he rummaged through the kitchen cabinets and found an unopened bottle of honey. He poured her a glass of water and placed it on the bedside table.
When he came out, he cleaned up the mess she had made. In the middle of the night, Captain Luo went out again carrying a bag of garbage.
So much so that when Chi Xia woke up the next day, for a long time she felt that her memory was distorted.
She looked at the clean living room and the turned-off TV and fell into deep thought.
She was clearly here yesterday drinking, eating meat and watching a movie...
Until the call from Gui Yang came in, she answered the call and clicked on the top chat record.
Then I saw the message she sent to Luo Xun.
Now it was her turn to be petrified.
She even wished she could die right there.
