Chapter 115 Fertilizer

The fertilizer production base that had previously been established in cooperation with the Donghua Group under the name of the Lopez family had already completed a large part of the infrastructure construction.
At the Donghua Group, even Wu Heguang went to the factory in person and kept a close eye on each production workshop, striving to ensure that all equipment could be completed on time.
Although there is still some time before the equipment handover deadline, the contract between the two parties was signed in September 2019, and all the equipment must be transported to Luzon before mid-June this year.
Seeing that there are only about four months left, Wu Heguang dare not be careless at this time.
After all, this order is very urgent. It takes 10 months to complete the manufacturing of all the equipment. Basically, the production line has been stretched to its limit. He also mobilized a large number of manpower to ensure the current production speed.
Especially in the past period of time, several spare parts suppliers in Jiangcheng and Lianghu areas were unable to deliver on time, which made Wu Heguang a little overwhelmed. He had to temporarily increase the price and look for other factories to replace them.
After all, this piece of equipment is worth hundreds of millions of US dollars, and some of the key equipment, the synthetic ammonia production line, need to be manufactured in specialized factories, and some parts are even supplied by just one company.
This made Wu Heguang a little anxious these days, and he kept asking the suppliers to ensure the timely supply of parts.
The Lopez family is also urging them, and their excuses are very legitimate.
That is, Luzon’s food is now facing attacks from ABCD, and the prices of pesticides and fertilizers are rising abnormally, which makes Luzon more urgent to realize the localization of pesticides and fertilizers.
The other side.
The fertilizer and pesticide supply problem in Luzon at this time is indeed quite serious.
After all, chemical giants like Dow, BASF, Bayer, and DuPont are in the same boat as ABCD.
If it weren't for the fertilizers and pesticides supplied by Chinese chemical companies, Luzon would have been completely devoured by these guys.
But this situation is not static.
At the Lima South biogas fermentation plant in southern Luzon.
After fermentation by genetically modified methanogens, the remaining fermentation waste liquid and waste residue are quickly sucked into another factory building on the west side of the factory.
Employees wearing protective clothing operate the equipment. Most of the moisture in the waste liquid and waste residue is thrown out by the drum. The remaining waste residue passes through the production line, adds a small amount of sawdust and grass powder, and is poured into long plates.
The long plates are then sent by conveyor belts to the next building, which is a mushroom cultivation plant. Employees in protective clothing inject fungus into each long plate.
There were already mushrooms growing in the factory, and they looked like ordinary mushrooms, but after the employees harvested the mushrooms, the long trays that served as the culture medium were sent to another factory.
In this factory, the culture medium that has grown a batch of mushrooms is taken out and sent into the screening machine.
After shaking and cleaning, the culture medium is separated into secondary cultivation material and mushroom mycelium nodules. These nodules are sent into pheromone sterilization furnace and high-temperature disinfection furnace, and finally passed through a crusher and auxiliary materials to become bags of organic nitrogen fertilizer with a nitrogen content of 12%.
Zhang Wei, who was in charge of Haitian Agriculture, grabbed a handful of powder and smiled at Bri, the general manager of Jade Energy:
"Yes, recently cooperatives in various places have reported that the use of our organic fertilizers has had very good results. The amount of urea used per mu has been reduced by about 62%, and soil compaction has also been reduced. In addition, the soil organic matter content can sustain two seasons of farming without a significant decrease in organic matter."
"It's good that it can be used, so that our other biogas fermentation plants can also be transformed accordingly." Bri replied happily.
They have also introduced fermented slag soil . Although its fertility and organic matter content are quite good, there are also many problems.
The most troublesome problem is that the nutrients in the slag are uneven, making it difficult to determine the amount to be used, which can easily lead to fertilizer damage.
After being purified by genetically modified mushrooms and genetically modified rhizobia, it not only becomes organic fertilizer, but also obtains a large amount of organic nitrogen through the rhizobia.
"General Manager Bri, what is the current output of this factory?"
"We can produce about 5,000 to 6,000 tons per month. If other biogas fermentation plants are renovated, we estimate that we can produce about 300,000 tons per month."
Zhang Wei evaluated and found that this output could replace 100,000 tons of agricultural urea (nitrogen content 42% to 46%).
The reason why so much can be replaced is that at least 50% of urea will be lost during use.
The long-lasting effect of organic fertilizer will actually increase the utilization rate of nitrogen.
Of course, chemical fertilizers are still indispensable. When quick topdressing is needed, organic fertilizers are not as good as chemical fertilizers. Organic fertilizers are suitable as base fertilizers and soil conditioners, as well as reducing the use of chemical fertilizers.
Zhang Wei is not a newbie at the beginning. After intensive study and learning, and influenced by so many agricultural researchers in the company, he naturally understands that chemical fertilizers and organic fertilizers are both indispensable parts of modern agriculture.
"As for the technicians, I will arrange them as soon as possible. After all, those ABCD scum are waiting outside to take advantage of us."
Brie nodded as well. "I don't have any problem with that either. The venue and equipment will be in place soon. But it's a pity to feed the mushrooms to the pigs."
"We can't sell them on the market. Although there is not much risk in eating them, our mushroom production is already sufficient. If we continue to increase the scale of , Fengrao will not agree. It is also good as pig feed."
Brie shrugged: "OK, I'm not against genetically modified mushrooms. I even eat insect protein regularly. We have to learn to adapt. After all, this is the future!"
Zhang Wei naturally understood what the other party was talking about. After all, the Sapiens company often held discussions on the future world, and many people were not optimistic about the future of mankind. Bri was one of those people who worried about the end of the world.
After completing the inspection of the Lima South biogas fermentation plant, Zhang Wei went straight to the Lima South seaweed extraction base.
This seaweed extraction base is currently the largest extraction base under Haitian Agriculture.
The base can produce 1.5 million tons of seaweed starch, 300,000 tons of trehalose, 6 million tons of seaweed fiber (which can be processed again and converted into various syrups), and 800,000 tons of carrageenan annually.
Recently, an organic compound fertilizer production plant has been added, which mainly uses three types of genetically modified seaweed to enrich potassium salts and phosphates from seawater and nitrogen from the air, and then sends the seaweed to the biogas fermentation plant in the base.
In addition to producing methane, the seaweed fermentation residues are dried, ground into powder, added with calcium oxide, and mixed in a certain proportion to produce organic fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and various trace elements.
Luzon has no potash mines or large phosphate mines, so the only way to produce this organic compound fertilizer is through bioaccumulation.
The factory produces approximately 1.5 million tons of organic compound fertilizer annually, or produces separate organic nitrogen fertilizer, organic potassium fertilizer, and organic phosphorus fertilizer.
Trying to clamp down on Luzon by using fertilizers and pesticides is wishful thinking.
Regarding the issue of pesticides, Haitian Agriculture plans to use pheromone control and genetically modified immunity, in addition to pesticides, to reduce the amount of pesticides used.
Of course, Haitian Agriculture will also develop its own chemical pesticides.
This shows how difficult it is for small countries to achieve agricultural independence.
As soon as Luzon showed signs of secession, ABCD and a number of chemical giants and seed companies joined forces to start taking action against Luzon.
This confrontation is almost ubiquitous.
