Chapter 10 New clues?
Three days later, Fan Qian was brought to a public trial. Unsurprisingly, the court sentenced him to death on the spot, and the execution was carried out immediately the next morning. The task force had been established for just three days and had achieved a great success, shocking many senior police officers.
However, just as Gu Xia said, according to the principle of special cases being handled separately, two hours after Fan Qian was executed, the members boarded the plane one after another, returned to their respective locations, and went about their own business .
Of course, Wang Zheng was undoubtedly the most leisurely person among the crowd. After returning to school, he was still a weirdo in the eyes of the students. He lived in the only single dormitory and kept revising his graduation thesis. However, the good times did not last long. Soon his mood became very bad because he received a call he did not want to answer, and then had to go to the cafeteria with the most people according to the other party's request.
Soon, he found the person on the phone, and then sat opposite a man in a hoodie whose face could not be seen clearly with a grim expression.
"I really don't know how you got my phone number, and you came uninvited." Wang Zheng's face looked quite ugly.
"Don't say that. You said we are good partners." The man spoke with a smile, and gently reached out and took off the hood of his sweater, revealing his true appearance.
It turns out that the person who contacted Wang Zheng was Gao Feng!
What surprised Wang Zheng was that the task force was formed and disbanded in just four days. During these four days, there was not much communication among the group. Even when he left, Wang Zheng didn't know which department Gao Feng actually belonged to. What he didn't expect was that the other party not only found his school, but even got his phone number.
"Stop talking nonsense. What do you want from me?" Wang Zheng sighed.
"Do you still remember the string of numbers that Fan Qian gave you before he died?" Gao Feng suddenly asked.
"What?" Wang Zheng's face changed, and he quickly said, "What number? I don't know what you mean!"
"Stop playing dumb. Your acting skills are not as good as those drug addicts in prison." Gao Feng smiled, reached into his pocket and took out the phone. After clicking the screen , he put the phone screen on the table.
The cell phone was playing a video, which clearly showed Fan Qian's sudden outburst and smashing the phone. It also clearly captured the numbers left on the glass by Fan Qian's bloody fingers.
"How is it possible..." Wang Zheng's face turned very ugly.
"Nothing is impossible." Gao Feng pointed to his head. "I am a combat instructor of the armed police. I train all the instructors in the divisions first and then implement them one by one. The instructor of the prison where Fan Qian is imprisoned happens to be my soldier. It is not too much for me to ask them to shoot a video that does not violate the confidentiality code."
"What do you want?" Wang Zheng said.
"I want to know what this string of numbers represents, or what message he conveyed to you that made you willing not to continue the interrogation." Gao Feng stared at Wang Zheng, trying to find a breakthrough from the other's face.
"I'm not a prisoner." Wang Zheng rolled his eyes and sighed, "In fact, I'm also looking for information about this string of numbers. I think you should have gotten the audio of the interrogation of important prisoners and listened to it. I've heard as much as you have."
"So, that's why I came to you for this matter." Gao Feng sighed, "Do you have any clues?"
"No." Wang Zheng shook his head.
"I knew you didn't!" Gao Feng suddenly laughed exaggeratedly. This action scared the students sitting not far away, and they all thought he was a mental patient.
"Can you be more normal?" Wang Zheng felt his scalp tingling, and quickly covered his face and whispered, "What clues do you have?"
"There is no free lunch in the world. No, I want to exchange with you." Gao Feng said.
"That's not necessary." Wang Zheng's face turned cold and he turned around and prepared to leave.
"Okay, okay, I'm not kidding you anymore." Gao Feng quickly stood up and held Wang Zheng down, whispering, "This string of numbers is actually a coordinate."
"Coordinates?" Wang Zheng was a little surprised.
With the popularity of mobile phones today, whether it is built-in maps or software maps, basically all places can be clearly marked. Reserving coordinates is completely a technique from the last century.
"That's right." Gao Feng nodded and said, "Do you think it's strange that I found you? Actually, I'm also very surprised. How come I just came here and happened to run into Lao Gulu, and then asked for your phone number..."
"The coordinates are with us!" Wang Zheng said in surprise. He had already grasped the information he wanted from Gao Feng's words.
"To be precise, it's at an art exhibition a few kilometers away from your school." Gao Feng paused and continued, "So the reason I came to see you is..."
"Let's go." Wang Zheng pulled his clothes, stood up and said.
The two people left the school and arrived at the warehouse at the coordinates. The warehouse was empty. According to the flyers discarded on the ground, this warehouse once hosted a small art exhibition, but the art exhibition ended two days ago and the organizer had left the city long ago.
"It's a wasted trip." Wang Zheng laughed bitterly.
The interruption of clues undoubtedly dealt a blow to the two, but fortunately, both of them had strong psychological endurance. Gao Feng said he had something to do and left alone, while Wang Zheng decided to find Gu Xia after considering for a long time.
Gu Xia was famous on campus, so Wang Zheng found his office without much effort. When he pushed the door open, the other party was just looking down and pinching his nose.
"Professor Gu." Wang Zheng said softly.
"You're here." Gu Xia took a breath and waved, "Sit down and talk."
"About the graduation thesis..." Wang Zheng hesitated. After returning to school, he transferred to the psychology department and prepared a graduation thesis on criminal psychology. He was not a real policeman, so there were many professional things that he still had to consult Gu Xia.
"Well, I understand. The higher your self-requirements are, the greater the difficulty of the paper will be." Gu Xia pondered for a while and continued: "Let's talk about your recent recovery first."
"Not bad, just simple meals three times a day." Wang Zheng made a rare joke.
"Actually, I haven't eaten meat for a long time." Gu Xia shook his head helplessly.
The diners' case had a significant impact on the members of the task force, so much so that they had little contact with or were unable to face meat during this period.
"Professor Gu, are you going to seal the case files of City B this time?" Wang Zheng asked.
"Yes." Gu Xia nodded. "All the evidence leads to Fan Qian, and he confessed voluntarily." Gu Xia was a little tired. "Including the source of his funds. Through the investigation of his bank account by the B City police, it was found that there was no money from unknown sources. And the food truck you suspected was a second-hand modified car. It has exceeded its production period."
"And what about the bones?" Wang Zheng quickly said, "Professor Gu, we all know that it is impossible to eat bones when eating meat. Where did he discard it? Why couldn't we find it? Don't you think there is something wrong with all this?"
"Wang Zheng, you're a little oversensitive." Gu Xia took a sip of water. "Our task force is responsible for catching the murderer. As for other issues, they will be handed over to the local police. Without any clues, we have no right to apply for an investigation. This is the rule."
"What if I have a clue?" Wang Zheng gritted his teeth, "You should remember that when I was interrogating Fan Qian that day, a riot broke out in Fan Qian for unknown reasons."
"What do you want to say?" Gu Xia frowned.
"When he smashed the phone that day, he actually provided me with a clue." Wang Zheng said seriously: "I followed the clue and found a place, which is a warehouse near our school. Moreover, an art exhibition was held in the warehouse a few days ago!"
Boom!
Suddenly, a loud thunder roared in the clear sky, and then heavy rain began to fall without any warning.
"It's a bit cold." Gao Feng, who was sitting in the Internet cafe, tightened his clothes and casually clicked on a web page. Before he knew it, a strange picture suddenly flashed in the lower right corner.
In the photo, a well-proportioned man wearing an extremely sophisticated European suit is facing away from the camera. He is using a knife and fork to separate unknown meat from the plate, and at the foot of the table is a familiar canned food...
