Chapter 10 It's You two
"Is it just like you? You've been secretly in love with me for so long but never told me. I thought you liked Xiao Wu, which made me uneasy and sad!" Xuan Qing pounded Hemu's chest with her hand and complained coquettishly.
"Then I'm embarrassed to say it. You're so outstanding and so many people are pursuing you. How dare I... I can only be friends with you." Hemu lowered his head with a shy smile on his face.
"In fact, I've seen it for a long time, but you guys didn't want to say it, so I just pretended to be confused." I touched my head. How could I hide their feelings from my eyes? I had noticed that there was something wrong between them.
"You're so annoying." Xuan Qing screamed softly, then snuggled into my arms.
I really can't imagine that such a strong girl can have such a shy and girlish side. It really surprised me.
After a lively meal, Xuanqing and the others sent me back home. I packed my luggage and tidied up the house that had been uninhabited for a long time, then curled up on the sofa, staring blankly at my phone. Menghun was on the table, how should I start?
"Hi, I'm back." After thinking for a long time, I picked up my phone and typed these few words.
While I was waiting for a reply, I could hear my own heartbeat. It was so quiet that I turned on the TV , which was playing a melodramatic romance drama.
" I know. Welcome back." My phone vibrated and I excitedly took it out to read it, but it only had these few words. My heart was in turmoil and I didn't know how to continue.
"Are you okay?" I asked for conversation.
"Fortunately, I'm handling things in the detective agency now. Is the matter of Meng Hun over?" Yan Yimu replied quickly this time.
"Well, everything has been dealt with. It's time for me to return Menghun to you." I glanced at Menghun and replied.
"Okay, see you at the museum tomorrow."
"Okay." After I typed this, I felt depressed for no reason. It was as if after so many days of walking, some things had changed.
I really wanted to continue the conversation, but I didn't know how to start, so I could only stare at my phone in frustration.
"You must be very tired. Go to bed early. Good night. I'll wait for you at the entrance of the museum at nine o'clock tomorrow morning." Yan Yimu's message came again.
"Yeah, okay." I answered dryly, then took a hot bath and forced myself to fall asleep as quickly as possible.
I will never have strange dreams again. I took my dream soul to my pillow and tossed and turned. I couldn't sleep, so I had to get up and read. But I couldn't read. Turning off the light and counting sheep didn't seem to work.
I jumped out of bed and went to the desk where my comic book was. I opened the first page and drew Yan Yimu, looking cold and proud. Then I drew a girl who looked like me, standing far away and looking up at him. I took a colored pen and wrote next to it: "Are you my happiness?" After writing it, I felt so hypocritical.
But the emotions that were pouring out of my heart needed an outlet, so I continued to draw according to my feelings. The two of them met by chance on campus, and they became a pair of happy enemies... I kept drawing until my eyelids became sore, my consciousness became blurred, and I fell asleep on the table.
When I opened my eyes, it was already bright day.
"Oops!" I yelled and jumped up, "Ouch, it hurts." I slept on the table all night and got a stiff neck! I finished washing up with my neck tilted, looking pitiful. My neck hurt a lot when I moved it.
I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked haggard and my neck was crooked. Was I going to meet Yan Yimu like this? I really wanted to die! At this moment, my cell phone suddenly rang.
"Hello." I tried to adjust my voice.
"Hello, this is Yan Yimu. Are you okay? Why haven't you arrived yet? Do you want me to pick you up?" Yan Yimu's voice came through the receiver, like a hundred thousand volts of electric current radiating into my ears.
"No, no!" I exerted force and heard a crisp sound, and my neck returned to normal. "I'll be there right away!" I hung up the phone in a panic.
Although my neck still hurts, at least it looks normal. As for my complexion, I'll use foundation to cover it up! I hurriedly changed my clothes, packed myself up, took Menghun and took a taxi to the museum.
When I arrived at the museum, it was already eleven o'clock. Yan Yimu was wearing a light blue casual outfit, with his hands in his trouser pockets, walking around with his head down. The sun cast his shadow on the ground, and his angular face was faintly visible in the sun.
"Yan Yimu!" I shouted at him, my voice trembling a little. After shouting, I walked over slowly, my palms sweating with nervousness.
"Xiao Wu!" Yan Yimu raised his head and looked at me. His obsidian eyes instantly reflected a bright light. He smiled, as gentle as the spring breeze in March.
I couldn't help but blush and quickened my pace.
"I'm sorry, I'm jet lagged and overslept." I blinked, not knowing where to look.
"Haha, it's okay, go in first." Yan Yimu patted my shoulder inconspicuously.
The museum was cool and my beating heart finally calmed down for a while. We came to the director's office, who was a gray-haired old man in his fifties or sixties with a round, fat face that made people feel friendly.
"Haha, you must be classmate Yu Yingwu. Yan Yimu has already told me about your story. Actually, Menghun is your family's property. I am very grateful that you are willing to return it to us." The curator stood up and said with a smile.
"Although it belongs to our family, I understand that it is also a precious cultural relic of the country." I carefully took out Menghun from my bag and handed it to the curator.
"Thank you." The curator took it and put it in a velvet box, then thanked me again.
My mission was completed, and I breathed a sigh of relief. Yan Yimu accompanied me out of the museum. The two of us walked on the side of the road, seemingly waiting for the other to speak.
"Xiao Wu, how have you been recently?" Yan Yimu spoke first.
"Well, that's great! Let me tell you, I went to a lot of places these days. I went to my real hometown, went to France to visit my grandfather, and then accompanied my grandfather to a small town in Xinjiang. We met a lot of friends, many tribesmen, and a super old lady." I spoke quickly, trying to cover up my embarrassment with an excited tone.
"Wow, I'm so envious. I want to go too! If there is a chance, let's go together next time. I'm sorry that I didn't accompany you this time." Yan Yimu walked beside me, his tone full of envy and regret.
"It's none of your business. I want to handle it myself. We still have a lot of time. We can go together next time..." I said with a blushing face.
"What are your plans next?" Yan Yimu suddenly stopped and asked me.
"Hmm?" I looked up at him and asked, "Plans? Just continue going to school and continue drawing comics." I met his eyes and my heart beat faster again.
"Well, not bad." Yan Yimu seemed a little disappointed.
"What about you? What are you going to do next?" I asked, biting my lip.
"Me? I will continue to be my little detective." Yan Yimu blinked at me.
I was circling my hands, not knowing how to continue asking. After hesitating for a while, I finally said, "Actually, my family wants me to go abroad."
"It's also good to go abroad, do you want to?" Yan Yimu turned his head to look at me.
"I...I don't know..." I hesitated to answer and turned to him and asked, "What do you think?"
"I respect your choice. Every choice will lead to a new life. If you want to go, I will support you." Yan Yimu had a faint smile on his face.
I bit my lip and lowered my head. This was too official. Did he really not understand or was he doing it on purpose? If I just said that I cared about him and wanted to be with him, would that be too unreserved?
"Forget it, I need to think about it carefully." I was inexplicably a little angry.
"What's wrong with you?" Yan Yimu raised his eyebrows, but asked me with an expression as if he knew nothing.
"I'm fine, I want to go see Yuan Yichen." I answered with a pout.
