Chapter 10 Falling out
Luo Er looked through the notebook in Shalan's hand. He could tell that the handwriting inside was indeed written not long ago, and most of the words in this notebook were written recently. Although the handwriting was a little different from what Luo Er remembered, Luo Er himself knew that he had not paid attention to Shalan's studies for a long time, which was understandable. Therefore, these did prove that Luo Er had stayed in the library for a long time.
However, none of these surprised Luo Er. What surprised him was that there were many words in the notebook that he didn't recognize at all. And when he saw the meaning and pronunciation of each word and sentence marked in the common language, Luo Er realized that Shalan was learning some unique language.
Putting down the notebook in his hand, Luo Er looked at Shalan and said, "Shalan, do you want to develop in the direction of a historian or a linguist?"
Shalan nodded with a smile, looked at Luo Er and said, "Father, I am about to reach the age of college entrance examination, so I thought about my hobbies. I think I am more talented in language and history, so I decided to develop in this direction."
Luo Er certainly didn't know that Shalan's words were just nonsense. He just nodded in agreement and said, "As a noble, becoming a historian and a linguist are both very good directions. History and language can make people more wise. I agree that you should develop in this direction. As long as you continue to study like this in the future, I can allow you not to have dinner at home. You can find something you like to eat. It is not good for your health if you haven't eaten at this time."
"I understand, Father."
"Okay, I still have some documents to process. Go eat something and take a rest. I've asked the kitchen to prepare your favorite steak and mashed potatoes with chicken gravy. Now is the perfect time. Go eat."
Looking at Luo'er's serious face, Shalan could feel his love for her hidden behind his serious face, and she smiled sincerely. Shalan stood up, nodded to Luo'er, and left Luo'er's study with her things.
After Shalan left, Luo Er put down his pen, opened the drawer and looked at the photo inside. It was a photo of him, Shalan when she was a child, and Shalan's biological mother. He reached out and gently touched the face of Shalan's biological mother in the photo. Luo Er murmured to himself, "Our child has finally grown up. He will definitely become an outstanding young man in the future, an outstanding Count Werman. I believe our child can definitely do it."
After finishing his meal, Shalan walked towards his room with satisfaction. However, just when he was about to enter the house, he saw Shaman waiting in front of his room with a basin of fluffy flowers. When he saw Shalan coming, he immediately came up.
"Brother, mother just heard that the velvet snowflakes in your room accidentally fell to the ground, so she asked me to bring you another basin of velvet snowflakes."
Looking at the velvet snowflakes in Shaman's arms , Shalan smiled and said, "I'm sorry to have made you worry, but I've found a new pot of velvet snowflakes since then. You don't need it now, so I'll give this one to you and tell you that I appreciate it."
"Brother, the basin of velvet snowflakes in your room is not fresh anymore. My mother just sent someone to get rid of the velvet snowflakes in your room. You should accept this basin of fresh ones."
Hearing this, Shalan smiled calmly, took the velvet snowflakes from Shaman's hand, said goodbye, and returned to her room.
Seeing the pot of velvet snowflakes she had prepared being disposed of, Shalan narrowed her eyes slightly and put the velvet snowflakes in her hand on the bedside table. After careful inspection, she finally found a piece of ordinary-looking stone in the flower soil. However, when Shalan turned the stone over, she immediately saw a long string of extremely fine Mans American words carved on the stone. Obviously, this thing, like the previous small piece of paper, was a back-up plan made by Vanessa and Shaman.
"My mother really thinks highly of me. I have always been patient with her, but she really thinks I am easy to bully. She has used such a crude method twice. It seems that she is sure that I can't find these things."
Throwing the stone on the desk, Shalan found a hammer and planned to smash the stone directly, but at this moment he hesitated, held the stone in his hand, and muttered to himself: "Is this thing just an ordinary stone? If it is really similar to what I guessed, this thing is a supernatural item. Is it really realistic that just writing a string of characters can produce an effect?"
Thinking of this, Shalan put the stone in a metal box and placed it at the innermost part of the drawer. Then he looked at the empty house. Logically, he was back, and Sally, as his personal maid, should come to his side as soon as possible to obey his orders, but she had not arrived yet, which was a bit abnormal.
Narrowing his eyes slightly, Shallan stood up and walked out of the room. Just as he was about to go downstairs to find Sally, he suddenly saw a slightly burly middle-aged maid coming upstairs and greeting him.
The maid bowed to Shalan and said with a fake smile, "Master Shalan, the Countess asked me to serve you."
Shalan looked at the maid, his face expressionless, and said calmly: "I already have a personal maid, I am going to find her now."
After saying this, Shalan wanted to bypass the maid and go find Sally, but before he could go downstairs, he was stopped by the maid. The maid still had a fake smile on her face and said, "Master Shalan, this is what the Countess ordered. I think Master Shalan definitely doesn't want to disappoint the Countess."
"Haha, since when did the servants of this family get to ride on my head?"
As he finished speaking, a hint of ferocity flashed in Shalan's eyes. As a tomb robber in his previous life, he was not a harmless person. He was able to make a name for himself in the world as a lone ranger in his previous life. Shalan was always ruthless to his enemies.
Although the strength of this body was just that of an ordinary person, and the sturdy maid in front of him was just that of an ordinary person, Shallan suddenly attacked unexpectedly. She clenched her right fist, and her index finger knuckle hit the carotid artery on the side of the sturdy maid's neck heavily. The sudden blow made the sturdy maid's eyes roll back, and she fell directly to the ground and fainted.
Shalan looked at the strong maid lying on the ground, stepped over her body and walked to the first floor to find his personal maid Sally.
