Chapter 1 Dust Hiding in the World 02
I didn't know how long I was unconscious. When I woke up, I found myself in the infirmary. Jiang Sijin was by my side. When she saw me wake up, she asked quickly, "You finally woke up. Does your nose still hurt ?"
I gently touched my gauze-wrapped nose with my hand and took a breath in pain.
"Tong Shuchen, do you think your brain was stuck in the door? You were trying to stop a fight, but why didn't you open your eyes and end up getting punched by someone else? Fights between boys are inherently fierce, and instead of dodging them you bumped into their fists. Aren't you courting death?" Jiang Sijin began to scold me rudely, her voice as loud as ever.
I humbly listened to his advice without saying a word. Of course I was afraid, but I was more afraid that my father would say that I didn't help Ning Qiyuan solve his problem.
"This is a big deal. Ning Qiyuan will probably be punished severely this time. He might even be expelled!"
Hearing this, I was so shocked that I sat up from the bed: "Expelled? Isn't fighting usually just a minor punishment?"
"I heard it from others. He beat those people pretty hard, which wouldn't have been a big deal, but the worst thing was that he broke one of the boys' arms and he was sent to the hospital on the spot. I also heard that the boy's parents are journalists, and they said that if Ning Qiyuan wasn't expelled, they would publish the news in the media and bring disrepute to the school."
If Ning Qiyuan was really expelled from school a few days before the college entrance examination because of this incident, what would my dad do to me when he came back from his business trip and found out?
No matter what, I have to solve this matter before my dad comes back!
After finding out that Ning Qiyuan had been called to the principal's office, I headed straight for the destination. Before I even reached the door, I heard angry roars coming from the office, one louder than the other.
"Ning Qiyuan, you feel uncomfortable if you don't get into trouble for a day, right?"
"I see that you don't want to graduate successfully at all. If it weren't for Officer Tong, do you think you could still stay in our school until now?"
"Then just fire me." Ning Qiyuan replied indifferently.
"You!" The principal was furious and yelled, "Get out, and don't come tomorrow. Forget about your diploma!"
A few seconds later, I saw Ning Qiyuan open the door and come out.
When he saw me, he squinted his eyes and stared at my bandaged nose for a few seconds, then walked out leisurely with his hands in his pockets as if he was strolling in front of his own home. The principal was so angry that he scolded him a few more times behind him.
This is really arrogant. My dad should see what he looks like now.
I cursed him fiercely in my heart and glared at him several times, but Ning Qiyuan ignored me all the time. He walked past me without even looking back, very calmly.
I didn't rush to chase him. I went into the office first to appease the principal who was angry with Ning Qiyuan. It was not until the principal's anger was almost gone that I suggested not to expel Ning Qiyuan. The principal told me that the school was still cautious about expelling students, and also told me that as long as I persuaded Dong Jianren's parents to forgive Ning Qiyuan, the school would not expel him. After getting the guarantee, I left the office with peace of mind and went downstairs to chase Ning Qiyuan.
Ning Qiyuan was not walking fast. He was whistling softly as he walked down the stairs, and he seemed to be in a good mood. I really couldn't understand why a person who was about to be fired for causing trouble could be so happy!
I caught up with him and called him by his full name: "Ning Qiyuan, stop!"
Ning Qiyuan didn't even look at me.
"Why did you fight? And you broke someone's hand?" I quickened my pace to catch up with him, and continued to ask. I still don't know what happened. I have to find out the reason so that I can convince Dong Jianren's parents.
Ning Qiyuan was still cold and arrogant: "They deserve to be beaten."
"Can't you be reasonable?" I was so angry that my internal organs hurt. I spoke with a bit of anger and quickly, "Why did you treat the principal like that just now? It was obviously your fault, can't you just admit it? Do you know that the college entrance examination will be in a week?"
"Are you annoying?" Ning Qiyuan answered in a low voice.
"Aren't you worried at all? If you're expelled, you won't be able to take the college entrance exam!"
"It doesn't matter. I won't pass the exam anyway." Ning Qiyuan didn't care at all. He walked down the stairs while talking. When he got downstairs, his pace became faster. I had to jog to catch up with him. Looking at his tall back, I was so angry that my teeth itched. If I could, I really wanted to beat him up.
I really hate him for being so arrogant!
"Ning Qiyuan, stop right there!" I shouted anxiously as I saw him approaching the school gate. At the same time, I quickened my pace. I shouted, "Are you just going to leave like this and not care about what happens next?"
Ning Qiyuan paused for a moment, turned his head slightly and glanced at me from the corner of his eye. I took the opportunity to run forward, but at this moment, I saw him sneer at himself, and then said coldly: "Tong Shuchen, my mother doesn't care about me, why do you care about me?"
Hearing this, I froze in my tracks, a little confused. In that short while, Ning Qiyuan had already strode to the school gate, walked through the gate as if no one was around, and soon disappeared.
Yes, why should I care about him? I am not related to him.
If he wasn't my dad, why would I care about him!
I held my breath in grievance, turned around, walked a few steps, looked back, gritted my teeth, and had to call my dad who was on a business trip to tell him what happened today. When my dad first heard that my nose was injured, he was very anxious. But when he heard that my injury was not a big deal and Ning Qiyuan was going to be fired, my dad immediately put away his attitude of caring about me and scolded me on the phone. The voice was so loud that it almost deafened my ears. After scolding, he also told me to go to the hospital after school to visit Dong Jianren who was beaten, to apologize and plead for Ning Qiyuan, and finally told me that he would be back tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.
Alas, I am destined to be bullied by both sides.
