Chapter 1

Chapter 1:

Naoko was an ordinary high school girl.

Her family background was ordinary, her looks were ordinary, and her life experiences were ordinary.

So far, nothing truly remarkable had ever happened to her:

no sudden birth of colorful eggs, no encounter with a tutor, and no awakening of a so-called Stand ability.

The only unusual thing about her was her persistent and captivating childhood friend:

Tomie Amamiya.

Amamiya possessed an exceptionally handsome face, so beautiful

it transcended dimension, and even elicited a creepy feeling if one gazed at it for too long.

Even Naoko had to admit that he was a masterpiece crafted by God, a presence that drew attention wherever he went.

His face was so incredibly beautiful that it often made people forget he was also quite intelligent.

The difference between them was so vast that it seemed like they were in a different dimension, so she couldn't even feel jealous of him. At

that moment, Amamiya was standing at her door.

As if sensing her gaze, he stared at her from afar with his beautiful yet deep black eyes.

"Naoko, are you a pig? Otherwise, how could you sleep this long on the first day of school?"

She couldn't help but retort, "I didn't ask you to wait for me, Amemiya-kun. I just slept five minutes longer, not that much."

For as long as Naoko could remember, Tomie Amemiya had lived next door to her.

Unlike her, who was often ignored, Tomie had always been the most popular among the children. Perhaps out of pity for her, he always chose to spend time with her.

She had once asked him about this, and this "popular person" had given a flattering yet convincing answer:

"Even though they're all idiots, I know how to choose between the quiet ones and the noisy ones."

Haha, she didn't need such irritating favoritism.

Rather than Amemiya's condescending handouts, Naoko longed for a female friend with whom she could go shopping and discuss game heroes and cosmetics.

However, Amemiya's overly intimate attitude towards her meant that while she was envied by everyone, she couldn't develop a closer relationship with anyone besides him.

To be precise, the only person she could truly call a friend was Amemiya-kun.

He naturally and shamelessly brushed past the question, his gaze falling on the sandwich she was holding: "Naoko, I'm hungry too. You have to give me half."

"Ha, no way. You have a nanny at home who cooks better, don't you? Why do you always come downstairs hungry?"

Because of his awkward habit, Naoko always had to share half of her breakfast with him.

"Because your sandwich tasted more tempting."

"...No next time!" She struggled to break it in half, handing him the larger piece.

He had his schoolbag in one hand and the other in his trouser pocket, unable to free his hands, so he half-bent over and took the sandwich from her hand.

As he leaned in, the tip of his tongue brushed against her fingers, intentionally or unintentionally.

"Hey, Amemiya-kun, you have absolutely no regard for hygiene." She retracted her hand and rubbed her licked fingers against his body, "Be more careful next time, okay."

If her classmates saw this scene, she would probably be pierced by their gazes.

"Got it," Amemiya sighed and stood up straight, urging her, "It's getting late, let's get going. Otherwise we'll be late."

He was the one who was dawdling, and now he had to pretend to be a good student.

The two walked side by side for a long time, and there were few pedestrians around. Naoko felt that this was a perfect opportunity.

But when she met Amemiya's eyes, she inexplicably felt a little guilty.

"Well, that... Amemiya-kun."

"Just say it. This kind of hesitant attitude should not appear in a simple-minded idiot like you." He raised his eyebrows, and the frivolous expression on that perfect face made her want to punch him.

She forced herself to hold it in. "Amamiya-kun, we're already in our third year of high school."

"Well, so?" "

So... can we keep our distance for a while? I want to make a new friend besides Amamiya-kun."

Amamiya couldn't believe his ears, so much so that he didn't register what he heard for the first twenty seconds.

His face changed several times, sometimes blue, sometimes red, as if he was surprised and angry at her sudden rebellion.

His breathing quickened a little, and after a few breaths, he gritted his teeth and sneered: "Want to get rid of me? Naoko, don't even think about it."

"It's not getting rid of me," she knew she was being unreasonable, but she still tried to convince him, "It's just making more friends. Besides me, doesn't Amamiya-kun have other friends?"

"When did that happen?"

"Huh?"

He frowned slightly, as if puzzled and mocking: "Huh, when did I have other friends?"

She thought carefully: "For example, Suzuki-kun who sits in front of you, Fujishima-san who often does experiments with you, and Umino-kun from the team..."

"Huh, Naoko, I didn't expect you to pay attention to me so much." He pulled the corner of his mouth, "But if the Suzuki-kun you are talking about is that big, stupid guy with a crew cut, then you should know that I've been fed up with him for a long time."

Isn't his attitude like this towards everyone? Naoko couldn't tell who he liked and who he disliked.

But she pursed her lips and swallowed her rebuttal, fearing that he would suddenly lose his temper.

"And that Fujishima? No one wants to do experiments with her. She's so clumsy. If you hadn't been so insistent on being the good guy, we wouldn't have gotten a B in that class."

It was a fact, and she couldn't argue with it.

"If you felt dissatisfied, you should have refused immediately..." she retorted. "But then there's Umino-kun, right? You guys often played basketball together."

He narrowed his eyes for a moment before asking, "Who's Umino?"

"...Huh?"

"Aren't all the players the same? They wore the same jerseys, how could you recognize them?"

"How could I not recognize them? Umino-kun is tall and a muscular guy. Isn't that rare in high school?"

"'Muscular'? So, Naoko, when you say 'friend,' you mean 'boyfriend?'"

Naoko was stunned for a moment, then her face flushed bright red. She retorted, "No! That's not what I meant. I don't have that idea at the moment! I just mean a friend with whom I can share secrets!"

The air fell silent, and she felt Amamiya's burning gaze sweep over her.

"Don't I count? I even know clearly that when you were a child, Naoko, you dressed up as a bride and got into my bed..."

"Ah, Amamiya-kun, shut up!" She looked around nervously, "I'm not talking about such secrets!"

"Whatever it is, I don't have any other friends, right? So Naoko, you'd better behave yourself."

Naoko had no way to refute him, and her words were stuck in her throat.

Well, it seems not.

Come to think of it, it was just other people who were harassing him.

Amemiya-kun is a guy with eyes on his forehead. He looks down on everyone, and naturally it is even more impossible for him to make friends with them.

But he never explicitly refuses.

To put it simply, this person has a low sense of morality. He enjoys being admired by others, but is unwilling to pay considerable emotional support for it.

But he really doesn't need it.

Plenty of people are willing to flock to him.

As if he could see her speechlessness from her tangled expression, he chuckled complacently:

"You haven't become smarter by carrying a heavy schoolbag back and forth.

" "Let's go, Naoko, don't say this kind of thing again before I get tired of it. "

But..."

He turned around, his expression was very cold, a look she had never seen before, so she could only shut her mouth.

Amemiya walked beside her, and she could effortlessly feel the low pressure around her, silently lowering her head and nibbling the sandwich in her hand.

The price of walking with a man who was so beautiful that he seemed to be glowing was the gaze that followed him like a shadow. As a socially anxious person, Naoko still couldn't get used to it.

"Go this way. Naoko, without me, you can't even find the way to school, right? "

A short sigh came from behind her, and someone grabbed the back of her collar and turned her in a different direction.

As soon as he finished speaking, the eyes staring at her became sharper.

How could it be? Without him, she wouldn't have to keep her head down.

The further she walked into the school, the more classmates took the initiative to greet Amemiya.

Their gazes were burning, but their actions always maintained the boundaries of politeness and did not cross the line.

Perhaps he was very satisfied with their knowledge and interests, so Amemiya would respond from time to time, but when there was no one around, he would criticize them with barbed words.

The two walked into the classroom side by side and sat down next to each other - yes, they have been deskmates since kindergarten.

Amemiya didn't have much stuff, so he generously gave her half of the desk to put snacks, but he would severely disparage these junk foods:

"Only Naoko would you have a special liking for this kind of food that is neither nutritious nor tasty. "

Suzuki-kun at the front table turned around, his pretty face hidden in his slightly long bangs, making his expression unclear. When he opened his mouth, his voice was hoarse and erratic:

"Amemiya-kun, you're here."

"Turn back. "

It was only when Suzuki-kun turned his head away like a ghost that Naoko realized what Amemiya meant.

Suzuki-kun gave her the impression of a shadowy male ghost, and indeed, he was. She often saw him quietly following Amemiya.

Last year's Christmas present, he gave Naoko a letter written in blood, basically warning her to stay away from Amemiya, otherwise he would be rude.

Amemiya tore up the letter and threw it into the trash can. The expression on his face was one of panic or fear, but it was unclear whether it was panic or fear, but it was extremely uneasy.

For several days in a row, she received sudden calls from Amemiya in the middle of the night. He even threatened to kill Suzuki-kun.

Only after she broke down and scolded him did he stop his crazy behavior.

Not long after that, Amemiya resumed his relationship with Suzuki-kun. Apart from his colder attitude, she couldn't tell much difference.

She thought they had reconciled.

As soon as the bell rang, Naoko fell asleep in a daze.

Last night, she stayed up all night to complete the hidden ending of an otome game and didn't fall asleep until late at night.

"Naoko, have you fainted?" She

was half asleep when a hot hand pinched her cheek again and again.

She opened her eyes unhappily and met his beautiful eyes. He followed her example, lying on the table and meeting her eyes.

His eyes reflected her face, her eyelashes long and curled, and a gentle light flickered in them.
