Chapter 07 The unknown secret 5
I don’t know how long it was, so long that I almost fell asleep leaning against the head of the bed. In a daze, I suddenly felt a pair of eyes looking at me intently.
I opened my eyes and met Wei Jimo's burning gaze at first sight.
"Uh, you're awake." I subconsciously raised my hand to touch Wei Jimo's forehead, but he turned his head away from my palm.
This guy, if he wasn't a patient, I really want to beat him up!
Even at this time, I am still worried about his cleanliness.
Really annoying!
"Don't move." I frowned and pulled him closer to me. "You were having a fever just now. Let me feel you and see if your fever has subsided now!"
"Lin Yining, why are you here?" I don't know if he was frightened by my angry look, but he stopped struggling and let me do whatever I wanted to him.
"Well, it's okay. It's not that hot anymore. The fever is finally gone." I breathed a sigh of relief and looked at him with a smile, but deliberately ignored his question.
I don't want to tell this guy that I came here because I was worried about him.
Otherwise, he would be proud again!
I stood up and poured him a glass of warm water. I was still distracted when Wei Jimo's voice rang out again: "Lin Yining, are you worried about me?"
Frightened by his shocking words, her hand trembled, and the cup in her hand tilted slightly, and the water in the cup spilled out.
"Hey, Lin Yining. Are you guilty or angry?" The water splashed on Wei Jimo's shirt. He frowned, but the next second, he turned his head to look at me with a smug smile on his lips.
You are the one who is guilty!
Your whole family is guilty!
You are the one who is angry and embarrassed!
Your whole family is furious!
Putting the water cup heavily on his hand, I rolled my eyes at him, my gaze full of murderous intent: "Hey, Wei Jimo, has anyone told you that you have a serious problem?"
"What's wrong?" He glanced at the cup in his hand with disdain and raised his eyebrows at me.
"That is..." I dragged out my voice, whetting his appetite before I said slowly, "You like to be sentimental!"
"Really?" He didn't comment. He took a sip of water and handed the cup to me. "Whether I am being sentimental or not, you know it in your heart."
"Hey, Wei Jimo, don't you have hands? You need help from others to put down a cup." I don't know if it was because I was irritated by his rich young master's behavior or because he hit on my sore spot, but a nameless fire suddenly rose in my heart, and the tone of my voice instantly became a few degrees higher.
"I am a patient , and it is your duty to take care of patients." He stated the facts succinctly. "Besides, you are not much better than me. You can't even take care of a patient. Humph, you are so stupid!"
Pointing at the water stains on his shirt and quilt, Wei Jimo said with disgust: "Look at you, you have water everywhere. Lin Yining, you have never taken care of a patient before, have you?"
"Wei Jimo, you should be content." I took the water cup from him and put it on the table beside me. I rolled my eyes at him and said, "A patient who needs care has no right to be picky."
"Lin Yining, you're so fierce, be careful that you won't be able to get married in the future." Wei Jimu half leaned against the head of the bed, glancing at me with a smile, his eyes were surprisingly gentle, but his tone was as annoying as ever.
"It's none of your business whether I can get married or not!" I felt a little flustered by his burning gaze, so I lowered my head and avoided his sight.
"That's not necessarily true." Wei Jimo's voice was charming and magnetic, echoing in the night. "We are classmates after all, and you are still my class monitor. I can't just watch you fall to the point where no one wants you!"
"Wei Jimo, it looks like you're almost fully recovered." I rolled up my sleeves and rubbed my hands together.
"Hey, hey, hey, Lin Yining. You can't bully a patient like this. A gentleman uses words, not fists, you know?" Wei Jimo deliberately pretended to be panic-stricken. His acting skills were quite good. It would be a waste of his talent if he didn't become an actor.
"I'm sorry, I'm a woman, not a gentleman." I grabbed the collar of his shirt, my eyes lingering on the exposed skin of his chest, interpreting the image of a female bandit to the fullest.
"It's true that only women and villains are difficult to raise! The ancients were right." Wei Jimo curled his lips, and his gaze changed slightly after falling on my hands on his collar, "Hey, hey, hey, Lin Yining, what are you doing? I'm selling my art, not my body..."
"Pfft..." I finally couldn't help but break my composure. I didn't expect this fox Wei to have such a humorous side. "Who cares about you? I wouldn't want you even if you gave it to me for free."
Throwing a clean T-shirt in front of him, I turned around and said, "You had a fever and sweated a lot just now, and your shirt is wet. So, change into clean clothes first, otherwise you will catch a cold again later."
"Are you really not interested?" Wei Jimo quickly changed his clothes and handed the shirt to me, but he refused to let go. "Lin Yining, are you sure you really don't want it?"
He just looked at me quietly, his eyes so hot that they seemed to penetrate me.
I pulled my shirt back and said, flustered, "Of course."
"Hmph, you say one thing and mean another." There seemed to be a flash of disappointment in his eyes, and he snorted coldly, not continuing the topic any further.
The room suddenly became quiet, and the atmosphere seemed to become awkward.
I had no choice but to make small talk: "By the way, Wei Jimo, Anyang couldn't come because of something, so let me give you her regards."
"I got it." Unexpectedly, Wei Jimu didn't seem as disappointed as I imagined. He just responded faintly with a surprisingly calm expression.
"But..." I hesitated for a moment, and finally couldn't help but speak, "Wei Jimo, what happened yesterday?"
When he left in a hurry, he was full of energy and lively. How come he suddenly fell ill and had a fever overnight?
"Nothing." Wei Jimo's eyes, which were originally smiling, dimmed in an instant. He frowned, and the temperature of his body instantly dropped to freezing point. "Lin Yining, why do you always like to meddle in other people's affairs? Aren't you causing enough trouble?"
"Wei Jimo..." I was almost choked by him and couldn't speak, "You!"
This damn guy changes his attitude faster than turning the pages of a book.
It's really like a dog biting Lu Dongbin, not knowing the kindness of a good person!
I suddenly felt very regretful. I was really bewitched today. I came here to ask for trouble and listen to him mocking me like this.
"Well, since Mr. President thinks I'm meddling in your business, I'll take back my question." I took a deep breath and stood up. "It's getting late, Mr. President. Since you don't have anything else to do, I'll leave first."
"Lin Yining!" Wei Jimu in front of him still wore the mask of indifference and alienation, but the panic and reluctance in his eyes betrayed his current mood.
I suddenly felt soft-hearted.
This guy deliberately said such harsh words, but in fact he just wanted to protect himself and didn't want to answer my question just now, right?
With this thought, the depression in my heart instantly disappeared and was thrown into Java, but I refused to show it on my face. I still had a gloomy face, as if I was so angry with him that I could hardly speak.
"Please don't go, okay?" He held my hand, his eyes as gentle as a child's.
I looked at him quietly, without saying anything and without compromising.
"Okay, it's no big deal to tell you. Isn't it just that I'm being punished?" He cursed softly and finally gave in.
"Because of Wang Wei?" My heart moved and I immediately guessed the whole story.
"Yeah." He nodded and answered, "She was embarrassed at school yesterday, so she ran to my house and told grandpa about me. Grandpa punished me by making me stand outside the front door, and then I got caught in the rain and became sick..."
I see!
I suddenly realized it, but I was also a little puzzled: "But Wei Jimo, isn't Wang Wei your cousin?"
"Yes." Wei Jimo nodded and asked in surprise, "Didn't you know this a long time ago?"
"But last time in the famous painting incident, I wanted Wang Wei to testify for you, but she refused." I was only concerned with asking the question in my mind, but accidentally exposed myself, "Wei Jimo, is your relationship with Wang Wei very bad? Why did she clearly see you go to the old street that day, but she refused to testify for you?"
"Okay, Lin Yining, it turns out that you were the one who followed me." Giving me a look that said "I knew it was you a long time ago", Wei Jimo stretched out his hand and pinched the tip of my nose as if to punish me, "You were the one who asked Xiao Luonan to help me, right?"
"Wei Jimo, you are committing murder." I rolled my eyes at him and acquiesced to his question. "You are repaying kindness with enmity, do you know that?"
"Silly." He smiled and scratched the tip of my nose, his eyes deep and complicated, "Thank you."
"No need to thank me, just answer my questions." I always felt that Wei Jimo was evasive and seemed unwilling to face Wang Wei's questions.
"Actually, my relationship with her isn't that bad!" He sighed and finally spoke, "It's just..."
"But, she has a better relationship with your brother?" My heart moved and I thought of something.
Wei Jimo pursed his thin lips, neither admitting nor denying.
"But doesn't she like you?" Thinking of Wang Wei's warnings and her attitude towards Wei Jimo, I asked doubtfully, "Wei Jimo, don't tell me that Wang Wei's possessiveness towards you is just a relationship between cousins!"
"How would I know her?" He lowered his head, his eyes flickering, but his tone was very firm, "Whether she likes me or not is her business. Anyway, there is no way I would like her."
"But aren't close relatives forbidden to marry? Wei Jimo, what's going on between you and Wang Wei? She knows that you are her cousin, but she still loves you so much?" Something flashed through my mind, and I blurted out, "Unless you are not related by blood!"
Wei Jimo raised his head and looked at me quietly. In his black eyes like the sea, there was a rolling tide surging towards me with the force that could create huge waves.
Ahhh, no way? Did I really guess it right?
Are Wang Wei and Wei Jimo really cousins with no blood relationship?
What about Wei Jimo and Wei Jifeng?
Between them ...
But that's not right, although they have different temperaments, their facial features are very similar. If you say there is no blood relationship between them, I absolutely don't believe it.
Faintly, I seemed to have cleared the fog and was about to see a ray of light. But there was always a veil blocking my sight, preventing me from seeing the truth of the matter... "Uh, could it be that my Lin Banxian's skills have reached a new level?" I raised my head from my deep thoughts, and after catching a glimpse of the expression on Wei Jimo's face, I was slightly startled.
Lin Yining, you idiot!
He was so focused on finding out the truth that he forgot to consider Wei Jimo's feelings.
Whatever his secret is, he is so secretive about it, it must be a secret he doesn't want others to know. If you rashly reveal it, it will only embarrass him.
I was very upset in my heart, but I didn't show it on my face and smiled heartily.
"How is it, Mr. Wei? Give me the money quickly. I don't tell fortunes for others easily. Considering that we are so predestined, it's fine if you just give me a few thousand."
"Master Lin, you are amazing. You even figured out that I was picked up from an orphanage." Wei Jimu looked at me and smiled with relief after a long while. "In my opinion, you don't have to go to school starting tomorrow. Just set up a stall in front of the school. I guarantee you will make a fortune every day."
"Tsk! Do you think that this is all I have to aspire to? I am not as short-sighted as you! Just wait and see, I will definitely do something great to promote the essence of our ancient culture!"
I rolled my eyes at Wei Jimo and put on a high-spirited attitude.
Looking at Wei Jimu laughing out loud because of what I said, for some reason, my heart felt heavy.
