Chapter 0016: Snake Woman Out of the Coffin
Even though I hugged him tightly with both hands, Mo Xiu just touched my face, intending to pull me up: "If it's really hot, take a cold shower first, I'll go find Mi."
Seeing that I didn't move, Mo Xiu reached out to pull me.
"My body feels so weak, painful and hot..." I tried hard to get down from the bed and take a cold shower.
But when he tried to lift his body, he failed to get up and fell directly to the ground.
The cold tiles made me feel a lot more comfortable. I simply laid out like a "big" character and stuck myself to the tiles, with even my face touching the cold tiles.
"Long Ling, Long Ling!" Mo Xiu called me in my ear, but I fell asleep again.
In the dream, it seemed like someone carried me to the bed, and then a cold thing hugged me tightly, lowering the temperature of my body.
When I woke up, I was already in the hospital.
Grandma was sitting at the head of the bed, sewing something and talking to Qin Mipo.
Seeing that I woke up, grandma immediately asked me if I wanted to drink water or go to the toilet, and asked Qin Mipo to help call the nurse.
After the doctors and nurses were busy, I found out that I had a fever and a severe cold due to being caught in the rain and being frightened, but there was no sign of poisoning in my blood. It seemed that snake venom could not be detected.
If the disease cannot be detected, it means there is no cure.
Grandma waited until the doctor left before telling me, "Two of Chen Shun's four family members died. Your parents were afraid of being blackmailed, so they went out to work the night they found you."
Are my parents running away?
I felt something was wrong the moment I heard it, and turned to look at Qin Mipo. She took what my grandmother had just sewn, looked at me and nodded.
So it’s not that he was afraid of extorting money, but he was also afraid that I would ask more questions about the snake coffin and the village.
Both my father and my mother seemed to have had their own reasons for agreeing to bury me in the coffin after I was born.
And my dad seemed to be under a lot of pressure that night and got angry at me.
"Where are Chen Shun and Chen Quan?" Aren't they father and son also in the hospital?
"He hasn't woken up yet." Grandma also looked worried.
I wanted to ask about things in the village, but the nurse came to distribute medicine, so I didn't dare to ask.
But just as the nurse handed out the medicine and walked out, she heard a clear female voice calling out, "Long Ling!"
The voice was not very familiar, but when I looked , I saw Long Xia in a white dress, standing at the door, with her back to the light, showing the same weird smile she had when she opened her mouth in the snake coffin last night, and her eyes were looking straight at me.
I instantly felt cold all over and grabbed my grandma: "What is this?"
Qin Mipo paused as she was sewing and shouted at Long Xia: "Get out!"
However, Long Xia didn't care at all. Her eyes, which were facing away from the light, shrank like a snake's pupils. She tilted her head left and right, and her nostrils moved slightly, as if she was sniffing something.
She walked to the bedside, got close to Qin Mipo, and said in a very low voice: "Qin Mipo, you don't want to be bitten to death by a snake like your aunt? She was bitten so hard that her skin could be sieved with rice. This is the result of your Qin family meddling in other people's business."
Although she spoke in a low voice, it seemed as if she was speaking into my ear, and her eyes were always on me.
Her pupils kept shrinking at a speed visible to the naked eye, and it seemed that at some point in time, she would turn into a snake and pounce on me.
I was so scared that I tightly grasped the black snake jade bracelet on my wrist and leaned towards the head of the bed, feeling confused and scared at the same time.
What on earth is a snake coffin? I clearly saw Long Xia being swallowed!
"Long Ling, don't you recognize me?" Grandma grabbed me.
He said in a deep voice: "This is your cousin Long Xia, she is only a month older than you, you played together when you were young."
"The next morning after we found you, the villagers found her at the entrance of the village." Grandma sighed.
He patted my hand and said, "Your cousin has cancer and he is so depressed. Not only has he not been found yet, but many villagers have been bitten by snakes while trying to find him, and several have died. What a sin!"
I looked at my grandmother in surprise, so she didn't know anything about the search for the snake coffin that night?
How did my cousin control my grandmother?
Long Xia turned around and leaned on my grandmother's shoulder obediently: "Long Ling, don't you remember me? We met in the grave that night?"
When she said this, her voice was empty and calm.
Mo Xiu immediately whispered in my ear: "Her return proves that the Snake Coffin didn't want her and turned her into the Snake Coffin's guardian spirit."
I don't know what a coffin-guarding spirit is, but when I looked at Long Xia's face, I felt a chill all over my body.
I turned my head to look at Qin Mipo. She also frowned and shook her head at me, signaling me not to move.
Long Xia helped my grandmother hold her shoulders and smiled at me: "My dad got into trouble, so I transferred here. I just happened to be in the same class with you, Long Ling. By the way, I just ran into your classmate Zhang Hanzhu nearby."
There was obviously something behind her words, I just looked at her with a gloomy look.
Grandma was sighing on the side. She had no idea what her cousin had done.
He also held Long Xia's hand and sighed: "Just wait until you find your father, don't delay your college entrance examination."
Long Xia's eyes fell on my wrist: "This jade bracelet is so beautiful? Can you show it to me?"
As she spoke, she reached out to touch it.
"No." I refused directly.
Grandma also knew the importance of the black snake jade bracelet, and took Long Xia's hand: "Aren't you going to report to school today?"
"I'm afraid to go alone, grandma, please send me." Long Xia hugged my grandma and said affectionately, "Is that okay?"
But he turned his head and looked at me with a weird smile on his face.
"Grandma!" I called out hurriedly.
My grandma waved her hand and said, "Just find a car to go. Long Ling is still sick and needs someone to accompany her."
Long Xia stroked my grandmother's shoulder and walked away smiling.
Just as she took her hand away, a piece of the snake's tail quickly flew into grandma's clothes.
I was so scared that my eyes widened, but Qin Mipo calmly took out a small bag of rice from the bedside table and gave it to me. I quickly took it and put it under the quilt.
Grandma obviously felt uncomfortable too. She touched her shoulder and said, "Long Ling, look how cheerful Long Xia is. You two should spend more time together at school. You will have a companion too..."
I held the rice bag tightly, waited for grandma to come closer, and reached out to pull her: "Grandma, please sit down, I have something to tell you."
"Your parents really have no choice. This person has to pay hundreds of thousands..." Grandma thought I was angry and came to me and said, "How can you pay him back if you don't go out to work and earn money?"
Just as grandma's neck lowered, I suddenly reached out and ripped open her collar, only to see several snakes as thin as ropes lying on her back, with their pointed tails erected and poking into her spine.
I suddenly poured the bag of rice into her clothes. As soon as the rice rolled in, all the little snakes immediately raised their heads and swam around. Their tails poked into the flesh, pulling the skin and flesh, as if they could no longer be pulled out.
"It hurts!" Grandma screamed in pain and tried to grab the rice with her backhand.
"Hold it!" Qin Mipo shouted hurriedly.
I didn't care about being respectful to the elderly anymore. I grabbed my grandmother's shoulders and pressed her down on the hospital bed.
Qin Mipo got out of bed holding the needle and lifted up her grandmother's shirt.
The little snakes came out, hissing and baring their fangs;
I turned the black snake jade bracelet on my wrist, and the little snakes immediately collapsed and fell down limply.
"This is a silk snake." Mo Xiu was in the black snake jade bracelet, half-raising his head: "It was brought out from the snake coffin. Long Xia really came out of the snake coffin."
This snake doesn't look like a silk snake at all, but the silk snake is already dead. Qin Mipo pulled the snake's body and used a needle to pick out the snake's tail that was stuck in the skin and flesh.
"What's on my back? It hurts so much, it feels like the joints between my bones are being torn." Grandma was wincing in pain, with cold sweat running down her forehead.
"It was Long Xia who released the snake." Qin Mipo placed the selected snake in front of Grandma: "She is no longer human."
When grandma saw the snake, her eyes bulged with hatred.
After Qin Mipo picked out all four silk snakes, she threw them into the trash can and said, "Take them and burn them. Leaving them here will only bring disaster."
I took some iodine from the bedside to disinfect my grandmother's wound. After thinking about it, I decided to tell her about the day Longxia and my cousin were swallowed by the snake coffin.
Grandma suddenly froze and turned to look at me: "You said she was swallowed by the snake coffin and came back?"
I was about to nod when grandma suddenly stood up and said, "I want to go back to the village. Long Xia has returned as a snake lady, the snake lady is back..."
"There's a snake lady in the village. The village is going to suffer a disaster." Grandma seemed very scared, with fear in her eyes.
