Chapter 001 The Return of the Mage
Xu Chengcheng is only a sophomore in high school. She is introverted and a good girl. She has never had a boyfriend and never reads those messy things. But in the past half month, she has been dreaming every night that someone is pressing her on the bed.
She huddled on the sofa in the living room, holding her cell phone, not knowing what to do.
The Xu family was a wealthy and powerful family, living in a top-notch villa with luxurious decoration and bright lighting. However, she did not feel safe at all, and she did not even dare to tell anyone about this shameful thing.
At this time, Sister Tao brought a man in and said they were looking for her father Xu Zhengyang.
The man was carrying a backpack and looked a few years older than her. He had gentle features and a very gentle temperament. He walked up to her father and said, "Second Uncle, I'm Xu Lai."
"You...you are Xu Lai?" Xu Zhengyang suddenly stood up from the sofa.
Xu Chengcheng was also surprised. This man called her father "Second Uncle", which meant he was her cousin.
She had vaguely heard of such a thing before. It was said that her uncle's family originally had a son, but because of his fate of being alone, his uncle and aunt were both killed.
My grandfather was afraid that he would harm the Xu family, so he listened to a sorcerer and gave him away, and severed all blood ties with the Xu family.
"Yes, second uncle, I'm back." Xu Lai said with a smile. Looking at the group of people in front of him, he couldn't help but sigh in his heart. He still had some vague impressions of many of them.
He was only six years old when he was sent away to a Taoist priest, but the Taoist priest was not a good person and sold him right away.
But it was also because of this that he was fortunate enough to meet his master and learn various magic spells from him.
Originally, he wanted to come back to visit when he was eighteen years old, but something happened at that time, and he was entrusted by an old friend of his master to serve as the headmaster of Tianshi Mansion for five years.
It was not until recently that he stepped down as the head teacher that he returned to the Xu family. In the blink of an eye, more than ten years have passed.
"Don't shout, we don't have a nephew like you!" Xu Chengcheng's mother just came down from upstairs and immediately shouted angrily.
"Second Aunt." Xu Lai called out.
"I told you to stop yelling, but you still yelled! You've severed ties with our Xu family a long time ago, so why did you come back to acknowledge your relationship?" A beautiful woman dressed fashionably came down from upstairs and sneered, "You're not thinking of coming back to share the family property, are you? Ha, no way!"
The person who was speaking was Xu Lai's stepmother. Although they had not seen each other for many years, the woman's appearance had not changed much, and was not much different from Xu Lai's impression of her.
"You'd better leave quickly. This is not your home anymore." Xu Zhengyang said with a frown.
Xu Lai looked at Xu Zhengyang and felt that he looked much older than he remembered. He said, "Second Uncle, I am not doomed to be alone. It was the sorcerer who made a mistake."
As soon as he finished speaking, he heard his second aunt sneer coldly: "What nonsense are you talking about! Master Ge is now the most famous master in Jiangning City, and he is well-known far and wide. How could he be wrong? You are such a disaster. Not only did you kill my eldest brother and his wife, but you also almost destroyed our Xu family. How dare you come back?"
These words were extremely harsh to the ear, but Xu Lai did not argue with her. He looked at Xu Zhengyang : "Uncle, where is Jiaojiao?" He was asking about his own sister Xu Jiao.
"Jiaojiao is in my care, she's doing fine . You'd better not harm her!" Xu Lai's stepmother suddenly interrupted.
"Let's stop here. We are going to eat and we won't keep you here any longer." Xu Zhengyang didn't want to argue with him any more, so he frowned and told them to send the guest away.
Xu Lai sighed slightly in his heart, looked at Xu Chengcheng who was curled up on the sofa with a pillow in his arms, and said, "Uncle, this is my cousin, right?"
Then I heard Second Aunt rushing to say, "What do you mean your cousin? Don't try to get close to me. This is my daughter!"
Xu Lai said, "Second Uncle, I want to talk to my cousin alone for a few words, and then I'll leave."
"What do you want to do?" Second Aunt asked alertly.
Xu Zhengyang stared at Xu Lai, hesitated for a while, turned around and said to his daughter: "Cheng Cheng, go over and say a few words to him."
"Daughter, if anything happens, just scream!" Second Aunt was worried.
Xu Chengcheng got down from the sofa and timidly followed Xu Lai into the next room.
"Are you Cheng Cheng?" Xu Lai closed the door and asked with a smile.
Xu Chengcheng nodded. Her first impression of this cousin whom she had never met was actually quite good. She didn't know if it was because of their blood relationship, but she felt that he was quite close to her.
"What I'm asking may be a bit embarrassing. Don't be shy and tell me the truth, okay?" Xu Lai said gently.
"You ask." Xu Chengcheng nodded.
"Have you done that kind of intimate thing between a man and a woman in the past month?" Xu Lai asked.
Xu Chengcheng's face immediately turned red, and she felt ashamed and angry. Who would ask such a thing to her face, and this person was her cousin by blood!
"Of course I didn't!" Xu Chengcheng was embarrassed and anxious. She turned around and was about to run out of the room, but she felt something tight on her back and was pulled back by the man by the clothes.
Xu Chengcheng was about to scream when he asked again, "Have you ever dreamed of something like this?"
Xu Chengcheng was stunned. These days, she was almost on the verge of collapse. What she feared most every day was sleeping. She had no one to talk to about this shameful thing. She was terrified and helpless, and her condition was getting worse day by day.
At this moment, this big secret was suddenly revealed to him, and he could no longer hold back and burst into tears. However, he was afraid of being heard by his family members outside, so he covered his mouth and sobbed softly.
"It's okay, your brother is here." Xu Lai patted her shoulder, comforted her softly, and handed her a tissue to wipe her tears.
Xu Chengcheng had been holding it in for too long, and once she started crying she couldn't stop, and it took a lot of effort to finally stop.
"Did you see clearly what this person looks like?" Xu Lai asked.
"No, I can't see clearly at all." Xu Chengcheng said with sobs, his voice trembling.
Just as Xu Lai was about to say something, he heard knocks on the door and his second aunt's voice yelling at them to get out quickly.
Xu Lai took out a cylindrical brass amulet and handed it to her: "I didn't bring anything with me for the first time, so this is a gift for you. Wear it on your body and you won't be afraid. Don't worry about other things, I'm here for you."
"Yeah." Xu Chengcheng held the amulet in his hand and nodded heavily.
Xu Lai smiled, opened the door and took her out, and immediately a group of people gathered around them.
"Chengcheng, come here!" Second Aunt hurriedly pulled her daughter over. Seeing her red eyes, she flew into a rage and yelled at Xu Lai , "What did you do to my daughter?"
"Mom, I'm fine, my eyes just felt a little itchy just now." Xu Chengcheng said quickly.
Xu Lai looked at everyone and took out a note and handed it over: "Second Uncle, if you have any problems, call me on this number."
Xu Zhengyang took it, tore it into pieces without even looking at it, and threw it into the trash can: "We don't need outsiders to worry about our Xu family's affairs, so leave now."
Xu Chengcheng hid behind her mother and secretly glanced at the trash can several times, wondering how she would pick up the note when no one was paying attention.
"Then take care everyone." Xu Lai smiled bitterly, said nothing more, turned around and left.
It was not until he reached the door that he looked back at the luxurious villa with a complicated expression. He had originally thought that he could at least sit down and have dinner with everyone when he came back this time, but he did not expect that in their eyes, he was not even as good as an outsider.
When he came out of Bihua Garden, he didn't know where to go, so he just picked a direction and walked along the street.
I don't know how long I walked like this, but suddenly I felt a chill on my face.
It turned out to be raining.
The summer rain comes suddenly, and soon the raindrops as big as beans fall down on our heads.
Xu Lai had no choice but to run for a while. There happened to be a community called Zijinyuan nearby, so he went to the door to hide from the rain. He was bored for a moment, and saw a notice board with rental information nearby, so he went to take a look.
He recalled and estimated that this place was not far from Bihua Garden where the Xu family lived, so he took out his mobile phone and dialed one of the rental information.
A woman answered the phone. She told him that he wanted to see a house and that she would be there within half an hour.
Xu Lai hung up the phone and waited at the door.
About twenty minutes later, a young girl holding an umbrella hurried through the rain, walked up to him and asked, "Are you renting a room?"
Seeing Xu Lai nod, he said, "Let's go. You don't have an umbrella, I'll help you get over there."
"That's embarrassing." Xu said.
"It's no big deal. My umbrella is big enough for two people." The girl was wearing a black skirt with a small round neckline and her hair was tied into a ponytail. She looked pure, pretty and gentle, but her personality was quite generous.
As he spoke, he opened an umbrella and took Xu Lai into one of the buildings in the community.
