Chapter 0005: Love in the Past
Master He Jiu gritted his teeth, and his eyes seemed to be spewing fire.
After a long while, he let out a long sigh and said dejectedly: "To be honest with you, my enemy is my second son-in-law!"
I was very surprised when I heard this, and saw that Master Liu Feihe and his disciples also looked stunned. However, A Biao and the servants of the He family were much calmer than us.
It turned out that Mr. He Jiu had three children, two boys and one girl. Among them, the second daughter of the He family, He Qianxue, was both beautiful and intelligent. She was loved by the whole family since she was a child and was regarded as the apple of the family's eye.
Master He Jiu was extremely strict with his two sons and would often scold them with a stern face, but he was very doting on his daughter. He gave her whatever she wanted and was reluctant to say even a harsh word to her.
When He Qianxue graduated from college at the age of 23, she wanted to move out and live independently, but He Jiuye refused to agree no matter what.
He Qianxue thought that her father was too authoritarian and controlled her too much, so after a big quarrel with his father, she sneaked out and ran away from home.
Master He Jiu was furious and sent people to look for him everywhere.
Half a month later, the daughter was finally found, but she didn't expect that there was a man with her.
Mr. He Jiu never expected that after only half a month of not seeing his daughter, she already had a boyfriend and they were living together!
He was shocked and angry, and immediately scolded the man for being a bad guy and wanted to break his legs and throw him out. He Qianxue refused to obey and desperately protected her boyfriend.
After all, Mr. He Jiu couldn't persuade his daughter and could only suppress his anger.
Afterwards, he investigated the man's background. His name was Li Kun. He was six years older than He Qianxue. Apart from his face that was more attractive to girls, everything else about him was not worth mentioning. He was nearly thirty years old, did not have a proper job, and even rented a house.
Mr. He Jiu had plenty of money, and he didn't mind that his son-in-law was poor, but he looked down on Li Kun from the bottom of his heart, and thought that he was just a gigolo who was out to make a living.
Unexpectedly, perhaps because He Qianxue was born into a wealthy family, she was deeply attracted to Li Kun, a middle-aged man with a slightly vicissitudes of life, and fell in love with him to death and couldn't extricate herself.
Mr. He Jiu had no choice but to agree to their marriage, but he was worried about his daughter being taken away like this, so he put forward a condition that the two must live at home after marriage.
The following year was relatively peaceful.
The incident happened one night in August. That night, He Qianxue and her husband were drinking with He Jiuye, and Li Kun was diligently toasting his father-in-law.
Mr. He Jiu was already feeling troubled, and he drank one cup after another. Before he knew it, he had drunk too much, and was sent back to his room by the servant to sleep.
But he was a veteran in the drinking world, and although he drank a few more glasses because of his depressed mood, he woke up after sleeping for a while. Unexpectedly, he ran into Li Kun rummaging through his bedroom furtively.
Li Kun didn't expect that Mr. He Jiu would wake up, so he turned around and ran away in fear. As soon as he got downstairs, he was caught on the spot by the security guards who came after hearing the noise.
Mr. He Jiu was furious. When He Qianxue woke up and rushed over, Li Kun's hands and feet had been broken, and he was lying on the ground covered in blood.
He Qianxue didn't expect her husband to do such a thing and was heartbroken. However, considering their relationship as husband and wife, she still begged her father to let Li Kun go.
But seeing his daughter so heartbroken, Master He Jiu wanted to kill Li Kun, so how could he let him go? He simply locked him in the basement, did not treat his injuries, and left him to fend for himself.
Originally, there was still room for maneuver at this point.
However, what he didn't expect was that three days later, He Qianxue died suddenly of an illness. He Jiuye was so heartbroken that he ordered Li Kun to be beaten to death and then thrown into the river to feed the fish.
By the time Mr. He Jiu finished his story, I had already finished a cup of tea and had another one.
"If it weren't for this beast, Qianxue wouldn't have died so early. Do you think he deserves to die?" Master He Jiu roared loudly, his eyes full of bloodshot.
Ah Biao rushed to say: "I was the one who killed the Li guy back then. It has nothing to do with Master Jiu!"
Liu Feihe stopped the two of them and asked in confusion: "Since Li Kun is dead, how can you say that he was the one who murdered him?"
Master He Jiu slammed the table heavily and said in a hateful voice, "I have always looked down on this beast named Li, not only because he is not doing his job properly, but also because he is superstitious and likes to deal in some weird things."
"Master Jiu is right!" Ah Biao interrupted, "Li Kun has a study room, and no one is allowed to go in!"
"Master Jiu sent me in to check a few times, and I found that this study was filled with bottles and jars filled with all kinds of insects in strange shapes, many of which I had never even seen before!"
"Once I saw a centipede this long!" A Biao gestured. It was about half a meter long, which was quite scary.
Master He Jiu said with a gloomy face: "Five years ago, I ordered people to beat this Li guy to death, then tied him to a rock and sank him to the bottom of the river. But later when I sent people to investigate, they couldn't find his body, so I have always suspected that this beast is not dead!"
As they were talking, hurried footsteps were heard outside the house. Soon, a group of people ran in hurriedly with shovels in their hands. Their bodies were covered with mud. They were the servants who had been digging in the front.
A Biao hurried over to ask them what was going on.
A servant shouted in panic: "It's haunted! It's haunted!"
It turned out that after we came back, a group of servants continued to work anxiously, and no one spoke because of nervousness.
But suddenly, a voice said, "No one can escape tonight, all of you die !"
The tone was very strange, cold and eerie, and made people feel creepy.
The servants heard it all, but when they looked around, they couldn't find the person who was talking.
While they hesitated, the sound rang out again. The servants were so frightened that they trembled, shouted loudly, and fled back in a swarm.
"Hehe, you want my He family to be wiped out. That's great, very great!" Master He Jiu sneered.
He stood up and solemnly bowed to me and Liu Feihe, the master and his disciple, and said, "Please lend me a hand tonight. No matter if this Li is a human or a ghost, I will grind him to dust!"
Liu Feihe and I stood up to return the greeting.
A Biao shouted loudly outside the door, gathering all the guards guarding the villa.
I walked to the door and saw that each of these people was well-trained and extremely strong. I guess they were all carefully selected by Mr. He Jiu. There were twelve people in total.
I just heard someone in the room say disdainfully: "With our master and disciple here, even if there are really evil ghosts, they dare not come. I'm afraid Master Jiu will wait in vain."
I looked back and saw that it was Liu Feihe's senior disciple named Meng. This kid was quite arrogant and I didn't know how much he cared.
" Hey, what are you laughing at? Did I say something wrong?" the man surnamed Meng shouted at me.
I didn't want to pay attention to him, so I just replied calmly: "It's better to be careful."
The man surnamed Meng said contemptuously, "Look at you, you coward. If you're scared, you can still leave now!"
Suddenly I saw something flash across the night sky, my body moved to the side, and a black shadow rushed past me with a gust of air.
The man named Meng behind him let out a strange cry of "Wow" and was in trouble.
