Chapter 23: A Glimpse of Clipper
Chapter 23: A Glimpse of Clipper
Tim was a little hesitant about Batman's request: "Are you sure? If something goes wrong, everyone will be buried with Beloberg."
Batman looked solemnly at the Batfighter that was gradually being broken by the ice. He did not feel sorry for the hundreds of millions of dollars that were wasted. Instead, he said, "We don't have time."
"I understand." Robin nodded, swung the bat dart, and casually cut a wire tube on the time bomb. The timer that was originally ticking suddenly screamed continuously.
After a loud bang, the last wire broke. Tim quickly grabbed the hanging wire and tied it to the last branch of the mineral product.
A huge radiance shot up into the sky, sweeping away the snow clouds that were about to cover the entire Beloberg. Cocolia roared with all the energy of the Rift:
"How dare you, lowly person, desecrate the star core!"
She raised her hand, gathering her own strength. The virtual power of the Rift Valley condensed in her palm, gradually forming a huge meteorite, which was large enough to cover the entire Eternal Winter Ridge.
"Let me do it, you go!" Robin tried to snatch the controller from Batman.
"No, you go over there and hide in here!" Batman grabbed the controller with one hand and lifted Robin's cape by the back of his neck with the other hand, and stuffed Tim into the space under the star core like a chicken.
"Cover your ears and don't listen to the instigation of the star core." Batman caressed Robin's cheek lovingly and used his body to block him. Tim's pupils constricted and he desperately tore at Batman's sleeves.
He saw behind Batman, a huge meteorite swallowed up the entire sky.
"Batman!" He screamed heartbreakingly, helplessly watching the dark mass of meteorites coming like shooting stars.
Batman is just like the tragic hero of ancient times, holding the controller in one hand and hugging his child with the other. He is not afraid of death, he just hopes that his child can hold up the sky on his own when he has no future of his own.
"Lady Bronya, is there no other way?" The wounded Jeppard fell on one knee, supporting himself with the violin case. His protective power had been exhausted, and at least at this moment, he could not offer any effective protection.
"No, there is still hope..." Bronya also used the rifle to support her body, barely maintaining her dignity as the great guardian. She looked up at her mother who condensed the meteorite, praying for a glimmer of hope.
The player who was high in the consciousness space said: "Now, the last step is finally about to start."
He pressed the button in a pretentious manner: "System, extract all collected world energy and load the Star God patch."
"The Star God patch is - the God of Preservation, the Amber King, Klipper."
A huge meteorite is about to fall, and everything seems to be a foregone conclusion. Batman turns his back to the impending disaster, and his back never bends for a moment.
Bruce Wayne closed his eyes and waited for the end to come.
"Bang——" was the sound of the hammer falling.
Like the sound of bells in heaven, Batman suddenly opened his eyes and found himself floating in space. He looked up and saw God.
The god, whose body is made of amber-like rock, holds an iron hammer in his hand, and the gilded color floats beside him, casting just a glance.
What does it feel like to be watched by God? Even though Bruce Wayne has never heard of the name of this god, nor has he ever preached his gospel, all kinds of information suddenly appear in his mind with just a glance.
"Amber... King?" He mumbled in his sleep, unable to distinguish the boundary between reality and illusion.
"Batman!" Robin shouted.
Bruce Wayne woke up as if from a dream. There was a loud crash behind him and he turned around to look back.
At some point, the Pillar of Creation actually started to move on its own. It stretched out its hand to block the meteorite that was heading towards the core of the star, and then smashed it back towards Cocolia's position. The collision between the huge objects could almost make any tiny human dumbfounded.
"New world..." Cocolia let out her last sigh. Although she was no longer human, she still cherished the dreams she had when she was human.
But now, the power of the star core has been suppressed again by the controller, the energy of the rift is gradually dissipating, the power supporting her phantom body has disappeared, and the dead souls that have reappeared in the world with the help of inhuman things will eventually return to where they belong.
"Mother..." Bronya stretched out her hand in vain, trying to grab the corner of her clothes. She almost forgot that she had missed everything about Cocolia.
The meteorite was smashed to the ground by the Pillar of Creation, and Cocolia's phantom came to an end. The robot, activated by some unknown force, sat back in its original position, but it was a pity that the scaffolding originally used for maintenance had to be rebuilt again.
Batman finally let go of his hand with relief and released Robin from under the star core.
"Great, we're all alive!" Tim hugged Batman.
Batman pulled his arm back and hugged his child as well.
"Yes, Robin, we are all alive."
"Thank you for your help. Beloberg will always remember your contribution." After taking a breath, Bronya walked from the audience to the stage and solemnly saluted as a Silver Mane Iron Guard.
"It was really thrilling. How did you deal with the broken controller?" Shiluwa used the broken guitar to support her body and climbed onto the console.
"Because..." Batman turned his body to the side, revealing the branch-like controller: "I bought these things from a vendor."
Xiluwa's eyes widened: "Wait, isn't that my research result?"
The researcher's mental breakdown supported Shiluva to stand up with the guitar that she had abandoned as a crutch. She stumbled towards the star core controller, wanting to see with her own eyes this nightmare that had haunted her and Cocolia all their lives.
The branch-like controller was glowing with a strange light. Jeppard instinctively grabbed Shiluwa's arm and said, "Wait, sister, something is wrong."
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone present became nervous. Batman, who was closest to the star core, grabbed Robin by the back of his collar as if by reflex and stepped back, withdrawing to a distance that he thought was safe.
"What's wrong?" Xier looked at Jeppard in confusion.
However, just as she finished her words, pixel-like silver-purple light spots suddenly appeared near the star core and the controller. The pixel light spots gradually spread like a mosaic and enveloped the entire star core.
Just like an invisible eraser, the body of the star core was wiped away bit by bit by the void. Shiluva's proudest work lost its support point and was surrounded by numerous lines, falling to the ground.
Before anyone could react with surprise, a graffiti suddenly appeared on the spot like an Easter egg in a game:
"Ahem! Now, Star Core Hunter Silver Wolf, the greatest cyber hacker, declares that he is fully responsible for this matter!"
There's even a soundtrack from the game playing in the background.
"No, gone?" After silence, Shiluwa exclaimed.
Under the bright sunshine, the Beloberg Museum, which had been preheated for a whole winter, finally opened. The little-known underground singer Shiluwa performed on the stage with her Machine Craze band, and Bronya took photos and shook hands with a bunch of high-level American dignitaries with a decent smile.
Bruce Wayne, the wealthy businessman in Gotham and the chairman of Wayne Enterprises, which actually controls the entire city, and his adopted son who miraculously recovered from his illness also came to the scene and signed an investment agreement on the spot to buy the sales rights of the snowstorm immunity potion.
Drums and gongs were blaring, firecrackers were blasting, and media outlets were surrounding this small museum. The Silver Mane Iron Guards were dutifully protecting the people at the scene to prevent unnecessary stampedes.
All the traitors who had previously attempted to occupy Beloberg, no matter how powerful they were when they set out, eventually perished silently in the wilderness of Beloberg. Only the Joker returned to Gotham Arkham intact.
The underground world explained that this was due to Batman's intervention, otherwise no one would be able to defeat the Joker. At the same time, a piece of news called Star Core was also circulated on the dark web, and at the same time, a mysterious organization called Star Core Hunters appeared.
A star core that can freeze an entire state is already something that no one can imagine, so an organization that can take the star core away right under Batman's nose is even more terrifying. All the ambitious people are ready to move, and after extinguishing everyone's desire for Beloberg, a new storm begins to sweep the world.
"Bruce, is there any news about the Star Core Hunter?" asked Tim, who had just quietly recovered the useless bug in the ballroom of Clipper Palace.
Using the wine glass as a cover, Bruce Wayne replied: "There is only one thing. The Interstellar Peace Corporation announced a reward of 5.1 billion US dollars for the Star Core Hunter Silver Wolf."
"What?" Tim exclaimed in a low voice, "Why would the Interstellar Peace Corporation be involved in this?"
Interstellar Peace Corporation is a multinational corporation with great ambitions to fly out of the solar system. The capital behind it is spread across the entire planet and it is even planning the future space industry. In a practical sense, it controls the development of many small countries in South Africa, Southeast Asia and Africa. It can be said to be the largest capital cancer on the entire planet.
People often joke that if the United States wants to start World War III, it should ask the Interstellar Peace Corporation for advice.
Interstellar Peace Corporation can be said to be the uncrowned king of the world and the invisible controller of the entire United States. Logically speaking, such a global giant should not get involved in the petty fighting on the underground dark web.
"I guess there must be a lot of secrets about the Star Core within the Interstellar Peace Company. Their performance when facing the Beloberg disaster was also intriguing. Just the huge investment they paid to Alisa Rand before the Star Core came, now the entire Beloberg needs to repay it."
Bruce Wayne calmly analyzed the situation and pointed with his champagne glass at the lady with a yellow gemstone brooch on her chest not far away: "Look, that's someone from the Interstellar Peace Corporation."
